Aleksander Stein is a favorite on this blog; I think you would be hard-pressed to find a more authentic LEGO military modeller. His models forgo artistic embellishment, focusing realism and functionality. The vehicles themselves are extrapolations of specific present day combat vehicles. Some of the examples in the following photos are near-future derivatives the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank and the Stridsfordon 90 Infantry Fighting Vehicle.
I like to judge things over content rather presentation, but Aleks has graduated from the plain poster board school and has stepped up with digital backdrops for his models. This isn't always done well, but I like how Aleks has done well not to make any post-photography additions look to obtrusive; it is clear that the focus is on the models.
Camouflage is not easy to do with LEGO parts, but Aleks pulls off convincing enough patterns.
This blog supports modularity!
This isn't a photo re-color, each of the four models here is a unique construction.

Today, I blog Town.
Also known as City.
An experimental rescue VTOL by Pierre Fieschi, who also is responsible for some cool microspace action. And seeing as we've blogged VTOLs here before, it fits. The model itself is pretty darn spiffy, built at a smaller scale than we're accustomed to seeing, about half mini-fig scale. Check out some of clever part applications, if Pierre had fanboys they'd be goin all "OMG NPUUUU" and the like.
There's also another challenge in the Starfighters group. You don't win anything but you get the good feeling of participation. If my own personal ABS wasn't packed away I'd bust something out.

It may not be space...
But it sure is pretty. And functional, too.

Here's a youtube video of it in action:

SebastianSand's Garbage Truck
His truck is very, very slick. It opens up and has some fun techniques.

On the Flickr Scene:
V & A Steamworks brings us the second in a series of fish-inspired mechanical creatures, each incorporating those fugly KK2 shields. That said Guy beautifully integrates said pieces in his models.
Lord Dane brings us a great hardsuit, I dig the leg detail and toilet-bowl shaped body.
Mike Psiaki finishes a WIP of his, it's come a long way since we saw it last a month and a half ago. Notice how Mike moves away from the prefab canopy, the final result looks much more realistic. His photography is a success as well.

My, you're looking lovely today.
Thwaak has posted a flattery challenge: five builders (including our own Jacob) have built MOCs, attempting to copy the style of one of the other four. Go check it out and throw your guesses in!

Andrew is awesome.
I can no longer make "I BILDZ?!?!?" jokes, because I've actually been building quite a bit lately... But although I do love me some I Bildz jokes, I can recognize that it's a good thing overall to build more. Andrew is awesome. At least, as long as I build well. Andrew is awesome. I'll leave that up to you to decide. Andrew is awesome.

Oh, that's what they were doing.
Taken from the description on Brian Kescenovitz's MOCpage:
The evacuation and occupation of Vancouver is proceeding as planned. Martial law is in effect; DF forces now 60% garrisoned with near 100% expected within three days. Local authorities are cooperative, civilian population unhappy but orderly. Exit volumes significantly higher than expected, but the simplifying and streamlining of traffic patterns has kept the evacuation on schedule.

Grenouille's RG400
Brickshelfer "grenouille" has been uploading his/her RG400 gallery for a while now.
As you can see, this is not a mainstream creation. Yes it's a construction mech, but... just look through the gallery, okay?
Other things happening in space: sugegasa's green mech, obscurance's Macross fighter, and Brikenegg's Star Justice speeder

Catch-up post
I seem to blog nearly everything Izzo builds. That's because Izzo builds cool things. So here's "35."
Chuck C. has built a couple of cool things. ( Ferrari mecha | Patrol boat )
I'm sure I'm missing something, but here's a little something to keep you going while the blog slows down a little.

Vintage Lorry
A certain "J.M." has built an extremely impressive lorry (British term for a pickup truck, if I'm not mistaken.)
Things to note:
True to its british-ness, the driver is on the left.
There is a hidden steering system.
The fenders.
