The Rose Pavilion, Pavlovsk

The Rose Pavilion, Pavlovsk.(1812-14. A. Voronikhin, C. Rossi)
It was built at the beginning of the 19th century and soon became one of the most beautiful and famous buildings in the Pavlovsk Park. It organically combines the architectural style, sophisticated interior, and park surroundings. This pavilion got such name because it was surrounded by a rosary. In 1814 the Rose Pavilion witnessed a visit of Alexander I who had come back from Paris after the war of 1812. A big Ballroom was constructed specially for the ceremony honoring the Emperor. And still solemn ceremonies can be held in the pavilion as well as business events.
