Cat Fight Gone Wrong
So apparently I got home on Thursday early morning from the airport to learn that Lenny had been sent to the A&E for a swollen limb and infected toe
For awhile now, the fella has been picking fights with the neighbourhood strays and unfortunately constantly losing them. What's the point in fighting when you're gonna lose anyway right?
Anyway, he had another bad fight again which this time got pretty bad. His rear claw ripped and he had scratches all over, even a swollen limb from the ordeal which made him limp around the house.
The whole ordeal at the vet cost about $500+, apparently he struggled and put up a fight when the vets were trying to handle him, he was the only one making lots of noise in the clinic.
Glad that ordeal's over, and for the next few days I'll be cleaning and medicating his wounds, to which he constantly hisses in pain during the process.
It sucks, but it's gotta be done.
Get well soon you little furry prick, and stop fighting already, daddy loves you.

Floorball Monday
By far my worse game yet, got self pressured to perform and ended up asking for a sub midway through my match cause I couldn't focus, apparently it wasn't a good thing and seen as stepping out midway during the game despite having asked for someone to take over...guess you live you learn eh?
Glad that the guys were patient enough to teach, made me want to perform better and I hope to do so in the weeks to come.

YTF (Again)
Had to run a few errands so needed to rush and grab a quick bite at the canteen below, all the stalls had long queues except for the YTF stall (so I thought).
I hurriedly picked my stuff, popped it in the bowl, and then stood there when I realized I had to pass my bowl to the uncle whose stall side opening was where I had to go. As I walked over, I realized to my horror that hidden behind the wall was a queue leading all the way to the unsheltered open space of canteen, at least 15 ppl in front of me!!!
Can't turn back now, food in the bowl already. So just queue loh.
Thankfully they had red cut chili and soy sauce, something I wished more YTF stalls had instead of the 2 basic sauces which I never touch.

One Hellava Weekend
It's been one hell of a weekend for me, if you read a few posts down in my Friday entry you'd note that I was nursing a flu that was pretty mild initially. I had been hydrating with water nonstop to keep it at bay and it sort of worked for the most part, but then I knew that come the weekend, I'd be in for quite a packed schedule, what with two pretty long distance runs to cover, one on Saturday and another on Sunday.
So let's start with Saturday's Running Department AHM Training and SCMS Pacer Selection Run. I got up at about 5:30am and made my way to pick Ivy, her brother and sister in law before making our way to Big Splash to meet with the rest of the RD peeps. I've been wanting to run with them on a weekend but never really had the motivation to wake up that early to head down to run. This weekend though, I figured "heck" and decided to give ECP a try, it's not like I've not done this before, I've endured months of Pacer Training back when I was in Newton Running Club pacing at AHM 2012.
I recorded two timings cause midway during my run I accidentally hit the stop button on my Runkeepr, damn! The run was a pretty decent one, basically we were trying to see how Ivy could fair for a 21km Marathon, her last was about 2hrs 40+mins? Pretty sure that record's going be broken already.
I had the camera with me that day so I whipped it out took a few photos after the run, the SCMS Pacer Program was still ongoing so I managed to grab a few shots of some of the runners from RD.
After the run, we adjourned to La Ristrettos for brunch which most of the NB Runners have been to except for Ivy. The mushroom soup as usual was the highlight but I thought breakfast that day was a little hit or miss.
After an unsuccessful attempt to get our feet massaged in Chinatown. cause Adrian was in the midst of his Peak to Peak ultra marathon, we later made our way down to one of the checkpoints in Dairy Farm to drop off some food before I send her home and went back to sleep.
Dinner was with Dad at home, soup and rice was the meal of the day. I was feeling sick again by evening but pop 2 panadol pills and slept early to try and shake it off.
The run took a whopping 5 hours to complete, but at least those who've been wanting to visit the quarry finally managed to after such a long time.
So remember how I said my flu had kinda subsided? Then lunch happened. Though since we were press for time, we just went with the flow and ate whatever the group were eating. At this point I couldn't taste anything though.
By the time I got home, I knocked out for 2 hours and woke up to dinner, and had forgotten to tell my Dad that I should be avoiding anything fried, so I came down and found fried rice at the table, it was like sandpaper down the throat...ouch!
By the time it was about 9+, that's what I gave in, and got my Dad to send me to a 24 hour clinic to get checked.
Turned out it wasn't the flu, but tonsillitis, which had similar symptoms but excluded the cough which I didn't show signs of either. I had my temperature checked and it was at 39.7!!!
After I had gotten home, I immediately took my meds, went to bed, and woke up Monday morning feeling so much better.
I had my reasons for going through this much trouble over the weekend but hey, despite falling sick I felt it was worth it, I'm not going to do this any time soon, probably never, but hey, some times people do stupid things for crazy reasons eh? =)
Am feeling a lot better now thank goodness.
Overall it's been a fun awesome week, glad to have participated in both runs over the weekend.

Gone Yamming
As a last minute decision after this morning's run, I decided I haven't done yam cakes in awhile, and made my way down to Giant to purchase 2 whole yams and a packet of rice flour to compliment the dried ingredients I had at home which have been underused for quite some time.
I was taught how to make yam cakes during home econs in Secondary 1, but never really got about figuring out the portions of the recipe, it's always been agaration.
Unfortunately the portions were a little huge and the yam cubes kinda made it a bit difficult to keep the thing intact when cutting. Oh and I didn't put enough salt...better luck next time =\

Outdoor Rain Shower
So it rained terribly heavy this morning, starting at around 5am and it lasted till about 10am on and off.
Got out the house this morning to find the ceiling lamp at the porch pouring with water.
Did not know our house roof had such an excellent drainage system =P

That Bunny
I would like to stress how adorable the bunny in the picture above is!
When taking this photo today, I had initially overlooked the fact that the girl was holding a FREAKING HUGE BUNNY, I thought it was another dog.
But when I got home and edit the photos, it then dawned on me that it wasn't a dog. OMG!
Andrew you old blur sotong. -.-

Scraped Knee
You can still see the piece of skin lying on the wooden edge, I'm currently limping around though I think it is temporary.
Ouch...not good at all. >.<

NB Scape Run & SDM Individual Photos
Run this evening at Scape, followed by a quick photo session of the Sundown Marathon finishers.
Two problems I faced, the flash I brought along was alright but I ended up washing out the colors when photographing under the entrance, decided to skip the flash. Secondly, the lighting in the area was very odd. There's nothing really wrong with it as u can see below, but the face detection, though could detect faces, could not get a focus lock! I tested it away from the entrance and it hit spot on, but back under the entrance it kept focusing behind despite catching the face in the viewfinder.
Resorted to turning off facial recognition to take the photos, thankfully they turned out alright.

Medicated
After not recovering as fast as I'd hope for the past 3 days, I decided to visit the doctor today.
Checked my blog and my last medication run was in October 2012...not bad...1 year med-free.
Sucks to be back but I really want to be up and running again in due time.
