Pizza and Roosters

Fountain Green has been one of my favorite places to go to, it doesn't hurt with a new pizza oven and my hubby making 5 hours worth of personalized pizza for the whole family. We slept under the stars, being awaken by roosters and kids laughing. These are the memories I can't wait for Wren to remember.

Smiley Creek

This past weekend we flew up to Idaho to Smiley Creek.
We flew on dirt runways, hiked to a hot spring, and had a lot of fun.
I was a little worried flying with Wren in the little airplane but she did so well and even flew the airplane herself.
After this weekend it made me really excited to do this more often and keep it a family tradition.
Jason is in his element flying backcountry and he's a dang good pilot and I'm happy we got home safe.

Happy Monday

hiking and waffles

Wren's new toys
We've been busy and luckily last week the weather was so warm... we had to take advantage of it because I hear there is snow in our future..ugh.
The picture above and on the left were taken in Little Cottonwood Canyon. We broke out the hiking backpack and Wren loved every minute of our hike, even fell asleep as we were hiking down. She's just the cutest little thing.

Tomorrow we are heading down south to Moab. Wren's been surrounded by all of our climbing gear as we've been getting ready and found her new favorite toy.. Jason couldn't be more thrilled. We are excited but before we head down we made sure to stop at the park with some family and stuff our faces with some awesome waffles.

It's going to be a good family vacation.

Happy Wednesday

Quilts & a baby

Most of you know that I have one talented sister who knows how to sew, has an eye for the best looking fabrics and her quilts are made with perfection. She may not see her perfection, but I do and everyone else does. She will stay up all night finishing a quilt, not only because it needs to get done for a client but she also loves doing it.
Last month I was a little snob saying I didn't have enough of her quilts..(who says that when I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by her quilts)
The truth is I just can't get enough..nothing is better than cuddling with your babe with the coziest quilt on a cold winter day.
This week my little Wreny babe is super sick and what's kept me going is our naps together and we're usually napping under one of Abby's quilts...and days like the ones we've been having nothing seems more comforting than some hot soup, a cozy quilt and watching Seinfeld episodes.

It's amazing watching Abby whip up one of these creations and I'm envious of her talent, her patience, and her dedication for these quilts which just makes her that good at what she does.
So I was reading her blog and noticed that she's doing a little giveaway which ends this coming Monday and if I were you I would comment and I would cross my little fingers that you would be so lucky to get one of these beauties. Because truth be told..it's just warms up your home when they are around. I really am lucky that's she's my sister not only because she's one of my best friends, but she's pretty talented and lets me cozy up with the best of her quilts...thanks Abigail.

Ps..below are links to my favorites quilts
pps..she also has an etsy shop..great for valentine gifts, mothers days, birthdays, etc

These are a few of my favorites quilts:

Update

Wren looking at lights

This little babe of mine is my world..the last few weeks have been busy and this little bird is a busy one. Lately she hasn't been interested in any of her toys but more like plugs, shoes, rugs that I don't want her to touch. She's one determined babe and I love that look in her eyes as she see something and knows that she'll do anything to get to it. Tomorrow I'll start teaching again which I'm excited and nervous..I'm always nervous the day before classes..its like I've forgotten that I've done this about a million times. Maybe today Wren and I will just take it easy and maybe she'll help me make dinner or maybe we'll bundle up and go for a walk..it's been so cold outside and we've missed our walks. Here's a few..a lot of pictures of the past few weeks (some in December).

Happy Monday

The hubby & I have taken up the game of chess we're addicted

Before Christmas my cousin's got together for our Bagley cousin party, we did yoga, ate and exchanged our favorite things. Its becoming a party that I look forward to every year (mine & marta's feet)

Have I mentioned that my Wreny Babe is doing awesome in the car?!! She hasn't been the little screamer that I've come to know..I'm one happy mama

This little babe found out her nose can move..she's been doing this face ever since and I love it

January 1

Happy New Year and Happy 7 months baby Wren!
A year ago today I was 17 weeks pregnant and just had my gall bladder taken out. Jas and I celebrated that New Years in the hospital..I remember those days were pretty painful and I was terrified that something was going to happen to my little babe. Fast forward a year later this little babe of ours celebrated her first Christmas and New Years being a healthy active little one. I can't wait to see what this year brings and how a year from now I'll look back and see how much this little one has grown has changed.
I'm hoping this coming year I'll let go of any expectations and be less critical of myself.
I will snuggle this babe of mine more and maybe not stress so much on doing the dishes and cleaning the apartment.
I'm hoping 2013 will be a year where we will finally find the perfect home for our little family, with that said I also need to be more content.
I'm hoping everyday this year I'll be a better mom, but take it day by day and know that I'm learning. I'm overwhelmed with love and appreciation for that hubby of mine not only last year did he hold my hand and helped me with that dang surgery but he is one good dad and an amazing husband to me.
I'm thinking this is going to be a good year.
Happy January 1st

Merry Christmas

I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas. Weren't we just celebrating Halloween? It is has come quickly and we have been busy...busy with family parties, wrapping presents, quilt binding, watching my little babes scooting all over the place. It's true the holidays are much more fun with my little one around even if she has no clue what's going on. I was telling Jas as we were driving home from Fountain Green yesterday how I can't wait to really start more traditions with my little babe...and see her excitement as we get ready for Christmas.
This time of year is really a great time. It's snowing out side as I'm typing this, the babes asleep dreaming of something sweet with the simple smile on her face. It's a perfect Christmas eve morning and I love spending this time of year with family, seeing friends and watching my little family grow. I'm so blessed.

So to one grateful girl to the next..Merry Christmas

so many thanks

There are so many things that I'm thankful for. These two are my happiness and the loves of my life.
I cannot picture my life without them and am blessed every single day for how they impact my life.
Thanksgiving was a great day and was so pretty (look at that blue sky).
Before we did any food making or traveling down to our mom's we went on a walk with our little bird. Just the three of us.
It was one of those good mornings with my family which gets me thinking how grateful I am for everything.

We had a great Thanksgiving (more pictures to come) with our families which I am so grateful for. It was a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving

Steel Cut for the soul

Ever since we went to Tulie Bakery on that wintery morning... Jas and I have been dreaming of steel cut oatmeal and have taken upon ourselves to recreate this breakfast daily. We are now a huge fan of John McCann Steel Cut's and I have this meal everyday..sometimes twice a day. It's the best. Last night Jas and I ate some oats and started watching Lord of the Rings, it takes us a few weeks to get through all 3 since we are both exhausted and fall asleep half way through (jas made it 30 minutes in). Wren woke up as I was getting ready for yoga. She was way to happy for being so early and I envy that quality. It's hard not to smile at this happy babe so ready for the day. I left her with the sleepy dad and taught my only 2 classes this week. I spent the day at Abby's telling Nick, Jake & Sam stories and looking at fabric with Abby (she is one talented little lady.. more on that later). Wren is still asleep from her afternoon nap and when she wakes up I'm sure going to snuggle that little babes.
Tomorrow I'm preparing our stuffing which always reminds me of my Grandma DeSpain and I'll make another pan special for my dad (less carrots he says). I will also try and tackle homemade pie..crust, filling the works. Wish me luck since the pro at pie crust will be flying all day... Lets just say I'm a little nervous.
Can't wait to spend Thanksgiving with my family and knowing this is Wren's first.. holidays are more fun with little kiddos even if the babes only 5 months and has no clue what's going on.

Happy Almost Thanksgiving
