Cindy Lou's Fish House

Gracing Baltimore’s waterfront with stunning views of the famed century-old Domino Sugar refinery, Cindy Lou's Fish House is Chef Cindy Wolf’s celebration of cooking closer to home in both ingredients and traditions. Featuring a menu inspired by the spirited cuisine of the South, Cindy Lou’s delicious offerings showcase the fresh, local products from the waters and farms from the Mid-Atlantic and beyond.

Papa'aina

Papa'aina located at the historic Pioneer Inn in Old Town Lahaina, Maui offers a seasonal menu from Top Chef Lee Anne Wong, highlighting ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and other Hawaiian based food producers to create a unique farm-to table experience. We went there for Brunch for our last full day on the island.    

Screen Door

Screen Door located in Pearl District of Portland, Oregon serves southern comfort fare specializing in breakfast and brunch. Think re-designed fried chicken & waffles, thick blueberry pancakes, and praline-coated bacon.  The interior was inviting and bright from the windows, with plenty of seating outdoors as well.

Shilling Canning Company

Shilling Canning Company is a modern Mid-Atlantic restaurant where Executive Chef Reid Shilling serves his take on seasonal cuisine highlighting ingredients from around the Chesapeake region. Closest Metro is Navy Yard.

Ambar

"Where southeastern Europe meets Southeast DC," Ambar is a Serbian-owned restaurant along the bustling Barracks Row that features Balkan inspired dishes emphasizing meats and cheeses. The name refers to a Balkan building used to dry maize. With a desire to introduce DC to cutting edge Balkan cuisine, proprietor Ivan Iricanin has created a dining space that will delight and indulge the senses. Primarily featuring "small plates" Ambar will also offer wines and spirits from the Balkans not often experienced by the American diner. Closest Metro is Eastern Market.

Tupelo Honey

Tupelo Honey is a chain restaurant that offers Southern food and traditions rooted in the Carolina mountains. Recipes are simply crafted and made from scratch with responsibly sourced ingredients that bring the best of every season. We went to the one located in the Court House area of Arlington, VA for brunch on this gorgeous sunny day.

Q by Peter Chang is located in a chic 8,000 square foot palace offering modern Chinese cuisine in the heart of downtown Bethesda, Maryland.  Q stands for Qijian and means "flagship" in Chinese. Keith and I were invited to try the dim sum brunch, available Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm.  Closest Metro is Bethesda.

Lupo Verde Osteria

Lupo Verde Osteria is an intimate 95-seat restaurant located in the Palisades area west of Georgetown. We trekked out of our way to try the new Social Brunch that debuted in July and is now available Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Priced at $35 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), guests can enjoy authentic, rustic, Italian fare in a family-style format. Diners will be able to select one antipasti, one side dish, two pastas or egg dishes and one bottle of prosecco off the featured menu prepared by Executive Chef Todd Sprik.

Lark on the Park

Lark on the Park is a contemporary, urban restaurant located on the edge of Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas. Led by Chef Ryan Barnett, Lark takes exciting, seasonal cuisine that's familiar to Texans and adds a global influence.

Einstein's

Einstein's is a full-service restaurant popular for brunch in the Midtown area of Atlanta, GA. Keith and I stopped here to fill up before spending the day at Music Midtown, a music festival taking place a couple blocks away in Piedmont Park.  We sat outside on the patio to enjoy our brunch, along with a crowd of other festival goers and locals looking to enjoy a mimosa.

Woodberry Kitchen

Woodberry Kitchen is housed in a renovated 1870s foundry nestled in historic Clipper Mill in Baltimore, MD.  Owned by Spike and Amy Gjerde, Woodberry Kitchen offers a warm, rustic setting featuring an open kitchen and patio seating during the summer season.  The menu features ingredients that rely on longstanding relationships with Chesapeake area growers as a way to support local agriculture.

Brookland's Finest Bar & Kitchen

Located at the corner of 12th & Jackson in NE DC, Brookland's Finest Bar & Kitchen features classic American cuisine with a bistro flair. The kitchen features a seasonal menu with a variety of meals which highlight local, seasonal ingredients. Rotating specials and drinks specially crafted by the award-winning staff round out the menu. L'Hommage Bistro Francais is the newest dining concept from restaurateur Hakan Ilhan, inspired by his weekend visits to Paris while attending university in the United Kingdom.  We were recently invited to check out Executive Chef Joshua Laban Perkins’ new brunch menu with items that range in price from $7.50 to $19.50.  Brunch is served Saturday & Sunday from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. To celebrate Keith's birthday with his family, we headed to brunch at Colicchio & Sons from James Beard award-winning chef Tom Colicchio.  With a menu of the finest seasonal and local ingredients, we were intrigued by many of the choices and picked a nice variation of the breakfast items.

NoPa Kitchen + Bar

NoPa Kitchen + Bar is a new 160-seat American brasserie in the heart of Penn Quarter.  The name represents the restaurant's location just north of Pennsylvania Avenue.  NoPa is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch featuring infinite mimosa and sparkling wine plus any two courses for $30.
