Come what may by Cathy N

Good morning, all Cathy here with a postcard for you.

I started with white cardstock and cut it to 4x6. Then I grabbed a stencil and some green distress ink and make the background. I went around the edge with the leftover ink and blended the edges out.

First, I stamped grungy strip of stars on the bottom of the postcard. Next, I stamped girl with wings on top of the stars so it looks like she is standing on them.

I then stamped the striped border arrow twice on the top and edged it with black marker, I also filled in the open areas with a white pen

Lastly, I stamped the writing and scribbles collage on one side and then on the other. To finish it off I added a saying.

Mail Art Envelope by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends!

It's Mail Art Monday today and I have an envelope with the lovely "Girl With Wings" for you.

I picked on of my gelli printed papers and build an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board. Before I glue the envelope together I decorate it:
I stamp the main image onto the front with the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. I make a second print onto white cardstock.

I cut this one directly on the outlines and colour it with Distress Inks.

I paint a white address field with gesso, add some more stamping and glue the envelope together. Finally I adhere the main image.
In case you don't send any mail art, you can use those envelopes perfectly in your art/ junk journals!

Thank you for stopping by today.
xx Susanne.

Dancing with the Sky

Well I had to play around with this art journal page. Do any of you have  those art journal pages or art journals that you use to put your extra ink or extra modeling paste so you don't waste product???

(BIG HAND IN THE AIR HERE)

Well I decided to use one of my wipe off, extra product pages to play with.

So on this page the first bit I did was clean up some blue ink off my desk. Then the next addition to the background was a stencil stamping.  You know when you spray through a stencil and there is spray ALL OVER the stencil... well the stencil got smooshed in here.

Then I recently did some ATC's and had lots of modeling paste left over so I added some stenciling too.

So I played around with the stamps Dictionary Page - 19015 on the bacground and Girl With Wings - 19005. I stamped her on some paper and colored her with some watercolor pencils. I cut her out and added her to the page with some matte gel medium and then added some silver stickles to her wings.

Here you can see some of those leftovers in detail and shimmer.

I try to use up everything I can and create something from nothing. Give it a try and enjoy the process and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Dream..

Hi Everyone!
Karen here with you today with my very first post for the new design team term! I'm so happy to be back and sharing some inspiration with you all again.  So I'll jump right in and share with you the tag that I created using the awesome new  July inspiration  challenge board

This board is just so me! , neutral colours, a bit of  dreamy, vintage grungy splotchy goodness.. and the colour green!

Here is what this awesome board has inspired me to create..

I started off with some  Nature Walk from 7 Dots Studio  for my tag base, I couldn't decide which side of the  paper  to use, so I ended up using both.  I've used the Sunflowers stamp with my distress markers to add the base layer, along with the line of chevrons.

I then inked up the  tall mushroom, along with this mushroom and the girl with wings and stamped them on some Kromecote paper, and added in some colour using a few more distress markers.

I then layered them on top of my tag base, using some foam mounting tape to give some elements a little extra height, and finished off by adding the word Dream, using some alphas from UmWow Studio

I hope this is leaving you a little inspired, and wanting to join in the fun of this month's challenge! We'd love to have you join us!

Happy Creating
Karen xxx

Welcome back SAMANTHA! {Guest Designer}

Today we're welcoming back August Guest designer SAMANTHA KAMINSKI.

She has brought us a beautiful ATC

Design Project Two –Artist Trading Card
ATC Theme:Fairy
Title: Sparkle Always
Quote: Don't let anyone ever dull your SPARKLE!

Products Used:
o   White Card Stock x2
o   Bo Bunny Paper Back to Basics – Country Garden x2
o   Distress Ink Pads – Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries
o   Water Brush
o   Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
o   Crafter's Workshop Stencil
o   Glue and Double Sided Tape
o   Stickles - Diamond
o   Distressing Tool
o   Scissors

Here's a tutorial on creating this beautiful bit from Samantha:

First cut your card stock to an Artist Trading Card size (3.5x2.5”). I used my Silhouette Cameo which I created a template, for both the ATC and a card slightly smaller than the ATC.

I like my ATC nice and strong so I will generally always glue patterned paper to card stock to make it stronger. Using Distress Inks  (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick) and TCW Stencil I created a subtle flower background on the ATC.

Next I stamped VLVS Fairy image with Memento Black on the card (slightly smaller than the ATC).

I used TCW Stencil and Distress Inks again to create the same flower background around the stamped fairy.

I then added some colour (Festive berries ink using a water brush) to the fairies dress.

I let it dry before I added glitter to the wings and dress.
Using my distress tool I distressed the edges of the paper and cut some slits on the side. I then adhered this to the ATC.

The quote was printed on white card stock from my computer and distressed inked using the same colour scheme. I also added glitter around the edges.

Then to finish it off - More Glitter, just around the edges of the ATC.
