Last minute christmas gift tags.

Well its December 23rd, and if you are anything like me, you've thought of gifts that you have forgotten about.. yup I do this every year!! By now, I've normally run out of gift tags.. So instead of running to the shops to get some more today, I pulled out a few of my VLVS stamps and made some very quick and easy little gift tags!  These are super easy and ohh so quick to make!

I have used the following VLVS! Stamps:

I started off by staining some cardstock with some instant coffee, and cutting them to my desired  gift tag size.

I then randomly stamped the Jingle bells stamp onto my tags, I was still able to achieve a random print of my image as I  varied the pressure on my acrylic block.

Next came my focal images Deer Looking and Holly large , both have been stamped in Jet Black Archival ink.

A little bit of colour with my trusty distress markers next..

a little inking around the edge..
of course some machine stitching, and one more little added touch..

And i'm all done, and have a little pile of gift tags ready to add to those present that I've forgotten!

I hope that you all have a wonderful festive season, and get to spend some time with those you love doing what you enjoy!
Until next time.. Happy Stamping, Stay safe and Merry Christmas!

Follow the Road not taken.

Howdy everyone! Karen with you again today..

I thought I'd spend a little time with a new friend I found while looking through the VLVS! online store..

Isn't he just so cute, and go on, admit it, He made you smile!

I started off by stamping a few bits and pieces onto some cardstock. I didn't really have a clear idea of where I wanted to go, so I just stamped some random bits and pieces.

I ended up going with:

Road Trip  ( road word)
Don't follow your dreams  ( follow word)

I then collaged my tag with some Tim Holtz  paper, and some  distress crackle paint ( Picket Fence) . While I was waiting for it to dry, I then decided which pieces of the stamps I was going to use, added some very messy colouring to my bunny and cut them out ready to collaged to my tag.  This is what I ended up with.. Have to say he makes me smile!!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I've inspired you to have a little play and do some collaging with your stamps! Until next time..
 Happy Stamping

Seek Paradise

Hi Guys Karen with you again today.. I'm so happy to be back after a little break to share with you again.

I fell in love with the gorgeous little Boy in Tub Boat on plate 1449,

so I thought it would be perfect to use for my project today.

I started off by doing some mono printing on to my tag as my first background layer using some of  The Crafters Workshop Stencils and some distress ink.

The Crafters Workshop stencils I used were

 TCW455 Love post
and
TCW460 Ring Doily

I love how this background looks!

I then added in some machine stitching around the edges, and a little bit of random stamping using  one of my go to background stamps

I don't think I could ever get sick of using this stamp!

I then stamped the

and

Seek Paradise 3/4 x 2 1/4

on to some cardstock and cut them out, added in a tiny bit of distress ink around the edges and mounted them onto my tag along with some of my favourite idea-ology embellishments and I was done, Nice and simple, but I love how it turned out!

Thanks so much for stoping by today, Until; next time.. Happy Stamping!

Live in the moment

Hi!! Karen here with you again today!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

I absolutely adore this stamp, and have been waiting patiently for it to arrive.

Finally this week I found it in my letter box.. so I knew exactly what I was going to be creating my tag with for this post :)

I started with a distress inked base for my tag... added in some background stamping using

Victorian Flourish 2 1/4 x 5

Line of Grass 3/4 x 3 3/4

 and my favourite -

Waybill/Invoice Background 4 1/4 x 5 1/4

I added in some stitching and a crinkle ribbon bow a few  idea-ology few trinkets

I then stamped the Girl in Princess costume onto some blank pages of an old book, and cut her out.. isn't she just adorable. I also added in some fussy cut butterfly wings.. turning her into a fairy princess!!

Next up I layered  her onto my tag,
added in a Tim Holtz ornate plate and word band, and some more baubles

and my tag was finished!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope I've inspired you a little,
until next time..
Happy Stamping!

Listen to your Dreams.

Happy Monday! Karen here with you again today!
I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend, and got to spend a little time doing the things that make you happy!

I have, yup you guessed it another tag to share with you today..

as well as these gorgeous VLVS! stamps,

Coffee Ring Stain 2 3/4 x 2 1/4

Dictionary Page 4 x 2 1/2

Banksy Balloon Girl 2 3/4 x 3

I've used some of my favourite 7Dots paper, Tim Holtz embellishments and some of the gorgeous new Alpha Two  pieces form UmWow Studio!

I love teaming VLVS! stamps like the coffee ring stain and dictionary pages  with patterned paper to add a little something extra to the background.

Even thought the Banksy Balloon Girl stamp has the heart shaped balloon, I've covered this part of the stamp and used some other embellishments.. Sometimes just part of a stamp can be all you need..

I hope I've inspired you to  get a little creative
Happy Stamping!

Inspired

Hello Everyone! Karen here with you again today..
for all of us inspiration comes in all sorts of forms, and at all different times..
For me,  as soon as I saw the Businessman Silhouette,

it's like a little light bulb went off inside my head.. I knew he just had to be paired Big Ben.

For me they just go hand in hand.. and then August 1st came along and Tim Holtz posted his tag and technique for his August tag...and bang, there it was again, this stamp combo popped straight into my head  and I knew what I would be sharing with you all today.

I've also used the waybill/invoice background
in my background layer as well ( this one is another favourite!!)

and

add in a little distress ink, tissue tape and a few idea-ology embellishments and rub-ons, and I was done

and as always I can't not share a few close ups with you..

We'd love to hear about what you find inspiring, or a VLVS! stamp or combination of stamps that inspire you..

Thank you so much for stopping by,
until next time.. Happy Creating

You Had the Power All along...

Hi Guys, Karen here with you again.  Hope you've had a wonderful week so far.
Its my turn to share with you a tag or two  using lots of different Viva Las VegaStamps!

You had the Power all along My Dear....

As soon as I saw the weathered tree on  plate 1444,
I had an idea floating around in my head..

I knew I wanted to team it with the little witch silhouette from the

and the Spider on Web Line.

I started by choosing my base paper again from the Nature Walk collection by 7Dots Studio, and stamped the tree and spider... I just  love the look of the two of them together, extra spooky.. these would be perfect just like this for a Halloween project..

I then stamped the witch from the Kids in costumes silhouette. I did this by just applying ink to her silhouette on the stamp, then wiping off any ink that may have been in areas that I didn't want inked before I stamped.  I found this worked really well with this particular stamp. I then fussy cut the image and added in a bit of black cotton thread before sticking her down with foam mounting tape. ( the tape helps to secure the cotton thread as well )

I then stamped the

and arranged it on the right hand side of the witch silhouette, once again using foam mounting tape, to add some dimension.

lastly I added in some UmWow Studio star confetti , some Tim Holtz Idea-ology,prima crystals and machine stitching  to finish it off.

and  Next up as a added little bonus : A Banksy inspired tag using images from Plate 1443.  Its full of lots of awesome goodness. I've used the Gas Mask flower Girl - love this stamp!, Rat walking chain, Shopping carts ( I've only inked up the area of the stamp with the large shopping cart) and Where is My mind saying.

I've also used a Tim Holtz layering Stencil and the waybill/invoice stamp to add a bit more to my background. The barcode is from the December Daily plate.

Thanks so much for stopping by.. I hope you're feeling a little inspired, until next time, Happy creating!
