Mango Dal In Clay Pot

 Hai friends today I am coming with yummy and tasty recipe called "Mango Dal in Clay pot". The dals in the clay pot tastes yummy.  

Cooking dal directly in the clay pot takes 40 minutes to cook. It takes more time . We have to soak the dal for 3 hours ,Then have to cook in the clay pot.

The clay pot has to be seasoned well before 1st use. We have to take little care to the clay pots.

Soon will post how to clean and season the clay pots.



Lets go to the recipe


Ingredients:

Moong dal-1/2 cup

Toor dal/Kandi pappu-1/2 cup

Mango -1(2 cups)

Green chillies-6 to 7

Onion -1

Curry leaves few

Coriander-handsfull

Turmeric little pinch

Salt to taste

Oil-2 tsp

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp

Jeera -1/2 tsp

Dry red chillies -few

Garlic pieces-4 tsps.

Water -7 cups

Preparation:

Clean the dals well with water. Drain the water  and add again fresh water  .Soak it for 3 to 4 hours or over night.

Method:

Add the soaked dals in the clay pot 

Add 4 cups of water and turmeric

Now on the heat

It takes 40 minutes  to cook the dal

When the water starts to boil mix it ones and low the heat

Use wooden spatula only(No metal)

Now place the wooden spatula on the pot

Keep stiring with laddle in time to time without sticking to sides and bottom

After 35 minutes the dal cooked. Add the chopped mango  pieces, slit green chillies, sliced onions,  in 

the pot and cook well

Add some more water to the daal. The water is absorbed and daal will cook

Add salt and little more water. Mix it well

Add little turmeric and mix well

Now the dal cooked well. Off the heat and keep aside

Take small pan add oil and heat it Add chopped garlic and fry it

Add the mustard seeds ,jeera , dry red chili pieces and curry leaves fry it.

Add the seasoning to the dal, Mix well

Finally add the chopped coriander(Sorry for the messy pot)

Now the dal is ready. Serve it hot with hot steamed rice.

Chukka Kura Pappu

Hai friends today i am coming with yummy and tasty dal "Chukka Kura Pappu".This is very tasty dal.Its been years i had this daal.This leaves are grown from my garden.I searched for this seeds like many years.Finally my friend got this seeds.Thaank u so much to my friend for sharing the seeds.Really enjoyed the dal.Ok lets go the recipe



Ingredients:

Toor dal-1 cup
Chuukka kura chopped-2 bowls(home grown)
Garlic -5 cloves
Green chillies-5 or 6
Dry red chillies few
Oil-1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Turmeric little
Salt to taste


Preparations:

Cook the toor dal whisk it well and keep it aside.

Chop the leaves and clean well with the water.



 Method:

Place the pan add oil and heat it.

Add the chopped garlic and fry it for 30 sec

Add the mustard seeds,jeera,dry red chillies,green chillies and curry leaves fry for 30 sec

To this add the chopped chukka kur and fry it


Add the water and cook it and make it boil


Whenit starts boil add the whisked toor dal,salt and turmeric





Mix it well and make it boil

Boil this for 3 to 4 minutes

After 4 minutes the dal is ready to serve

Yummy yummy dal is ready to enjoy with hot steamed rice.

Gongura Pappu/Sorrel Leaves Dal

Hai friends today i am coming with yummy recipe called "Gongura Pappu"This is Andhra favourite dish.Most of the people love this dal.It tastes tangy.This goes well with rice and papad.We really enjoy this dal.
Ydy i got small doubt when i searched the recipe in the blog i was surprised that i didnt post the recipe.Soon i took camera and started taking pics.Finally i took pics.SO lets go to the recipe

Ingredients:

Gongura Leaves/Sorrel Leaves-2 cups
Toor Dal(Kandi Pappu) -1 cup
Green chillies-6
Garlic-1 whole
Onion-1(small)
Curry leaves -few
Turmeric little pinch
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Oil-1 to 2 tsp

Preparations:


How to cook dal:
-------------------
Wash the dal well with water and add the required amount of water,little turmeric and 1/2 tsp oil.
Pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles.Make it cool and keep it aside.



Gongura Leaves:

Clean well with water and chop it.


Chop the onions,Slit the green chillies.

Method:

Take deep bottomed pan and heat it.
Add the oil and chopped garlic.Fry until it turns light brown.

Now add the mustard seeds and make it pop.At this time add the jeera,dry red chillies,green chillies an curry leaves.


Saute for a few seconds and add the chopped onions and turmeric.'Make a stir ad fry till turns to light brown.

Add the chopped leaves and fry until it turns like paste.


Add the cooked daal mix it well.

Finally add the salt and make it boil.

When it starts to boil turn off the heat..

Serve hot with steamed rice and papad.










Note.
Cook the dal and leaves separately.If we cook together the dal wont cook due to sourness.

Blackeyed Beans Sambar/Alasandalu Sambar

Hai friends how are u guys.These days I was busy and was not able to cook properly.So not much into the blog.Missed many post and recipes.After many days today I open my blog and seared recipes .Ok lets go to the recipe today I was coming with  Blackeyed Beans Sambar.This is very unique recipe.This  recipe is from Chandana.In her website we get many traditional and easy recipes.I really love her blog.Ok lets go to the recipe

Ingredients:

Black Eyed Beans-1 cup
lime sized ball Tamarind-1/2
Tomatoes-2
Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
Oil-2 tsp
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
Green chillies -6
Jaggery-1/2 tsp
Chilli ginger paste-1 tsp
Curry Leaves -few
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1/2 tsp
Dry red chillies-2
Asafoetida-little pinch
Sambar powder -1 tsp
Grated Coconut-2 tsp

Preparations:

Take beans in the bowl and soak this beans for 1 hour.








After 1 hour take the beans in the pressure cooker and cook for until 3 whistles.


When the beans get cooked make it cool.
Then grind to smooth paste and keep it aside.
Method:
Place the wide and deep bottomed pan and heat it.
To this add the 1 tsp oil and heat it.
Now add the mustard seeds,jeera,chilli ginger paste , green chillies and curry leaves.




Add the chopped tomatoes and turmeric mix it well.


Cook this till the tomatoes get cooked.

To this add the tamarind juice and make it boil.


When it starts to boil add the sambar powder,jaggery,salt,chilli powder and blackeyed beans paste and mix it well.





Cover and cook this for till it starts to boil.

Now to this add the tadka place the small pan and add the oil ,mustard seeds,jeera,dry red chillies,curry leaves,hing and finally add this to sambar.


Finally add the grated coconut and mix it well.
Serve this with hot steamed rice and papad.
