September Sketchwalk at Jurong Lake Garden

Hi Sketchers, we are heading to Jurong Lake Gardens to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with the displays “Lights By The Bay” on 30 Sep (Sat).
There are several interesting large scaled lantern displays around the Lakeside field. Some of the themes of these displays are Singapore’s most iconic landmarks from past centuries, and, Wildlife Odyssey. There is also a street food tent beside a stage area.
The sketchwalk will start from 3.30pm to 6.00pm. Some suggestions to plan your sketch:
1. Sketch and colour the displays during the sketchwalk in the day, then enjoy the display at night.
2. Sketch the displays during the sketchwalk in the day, then colour when it’s lighted up after the sketchwalk/dinner at night
Remember to bring mosquito repellent, sun screen, water, umbrella etc.

June Sketchwalk at Jurong Lake

Jurong Lake Gardens is Singapore’s new national gardens in the heartlands. Covering a whopping 90 hectares, it features a glut of picturesque landscaped areas and biodiversity. Come 2021, the Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden (now closed) will join in and become part of this sprawling park. If you're wondering what's there to sketch, here are a couple of links:

We will be covering the north half of the gardens, down to the Forest Ramble playground next to the Chinese Garden entrance, but feel free to linger and explore the south end, or even go bowling after a hearty lunch at that unusual standalone KFC along Yung Ho Road.
