This week I am featuring four original heart paintings. I love Valentine's Day, while I think we should celebrate the love we share for others all year long, I do think it's wonderful that we have a special day to honor those we love in our life... These heart paintings look great together or apart. The originals all have elements of texture.  The art has a lowbrow contemporary pop abstract feel.

In honor of Valentine's day, I will offer the originals with free shipping if you purchase one of these original hearts by February 14th 2018.  Just message me with the title of the heart you want for you or a loved one and I'll send you a paypal invoice with the adjusted rate or I'll refund you the cost of shipping after purchase...

Pip & Pop "Here Comes Sunshine" Installation at the Corey Helford Gallery

Part I

I found this art installation absolutely adorable.  "Here Comes Sunshine" is the debut U.S. Installation of artist Pip & Pop.  I was at the Corey Helford Gallery to see another show, but found the installation as well as the available pieces of "The Rainbow Gang" utterly charming.  They also had a video of Australian artist Tanya Schultz discussing and creating some of her fascinating works.  With sugar and assorted materials, she aims to create an earthly utopia.

This is part I of II of the Pip & Pop art focused on the "Here Comes Sunshine" Installation.

Here is a sketch of a big eyed maiden.  She has a sweet smile and her hair is blooming with flowers...  I think she is most likely a goddess, although she could also be a fairy angel or a mermaid.  I'm unsure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.

I've decided to try and do a sketch a day in February.  This is day 7.

"Heart of Darkness" is one of my heart paintings. It part of my series of 5"x5" textured heart paintings. I love hearts, I think they're wonderful and romantic any time of year. This one has a black textured heart that comes up off of the canvas with a border, it is a lovely gothic expression of love. Due to the square format of the original, I did a digital variation to fit the 5"x7" print format which you may see on my website. The art has an abstract pop contemporary feel. "Dark Matters of the Heart" is one of my heart paintings.  It part of my series of 5"x5" textured heart paintings.  I love hearts, I think they're wonderful and romantic any time of year.  This one has texture throughout and is a deep purple surrounded by black, it is a lovely gothic expression of love.  Due to the square format of the original, I did a digital variation to fit the 5"x7" print format which you may see on my website.  The art has an abstract pop contemporary feel.  This piece is available as an original, as prints, and Limited Edition ACEOs!

Happy Valentine's Day! 29 Faces, Big Eye Fairy Angel Face 14 + Pink Heart Website Update...

Here is a rough sketch that I did of a big eye fairy angel.  In honor of Valentine's Day I gave her a couple of hearts on her shoulder.  They could be tattoos or henna or magical markings, I do not know for certain...  I'm not sure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.  She is face 14 for the 29 faces challenge in February.  For 29 Faces, the challenge is to share 29 faces in the month of February.

Here is a rough sketch that I did of a big eye fairy elf.  I think she has a very forthright gaze.  I'm not sure if I'll paint her or not, but I did enjoy sketching her.  She is face 7 for the 29 faces challenge in February.  For 29 Faces, the challenge is to share 29 faces in the month of February.
