My big eye rococo maiden with lovebirds in her wig and I would like to wish you a happy Valentine's Day! The birds have a folk art feel, but the entire piece has an #avantgoth feel to it.

Wishing you a happy Lunar New Year! Every year for Chinese New Year, I try to present artwork of the year's Zodiac animal, this time, it is year of the snake. I painted this one specifically to celebrate the new year. It is my first snake painting! In lilac purple hues and with big rainbow eyes, this cute snake has auspicious coils and is titled "Caihong Yan Zi She."

It has been a while since I've posted a wip of any of my personal works. It's been a while since I've worked on them... Facebook shamed me by posting a memory post of this, I hadn't realized how long I'd left it by the wayside. Here is a WIP work in progress image of this original chibi lovebird bird on a sakura cherry blossom branch painting. It is 5"7" on canvas and is being painted in duo oils. Here I've painted the base of the flowers, I still need to paint their cores and put some final details on the little bird.
I had a blue betta fish, I'm not sure if he was ever a father, but he certainly wanted to be. He built his little bubble nest on a regular basis... Happy father's day from Phinneas and I. I hope you have a day filled with love and beauty.

Feliz dia de los Muertos! Happy Day of the Dead! This is my painting for the DÃa de los Muertos: Recuerdos de Sabores/Flavorful Memories Exhibit at the Ontario Museum of art. I didn't manage to post a wip work in progress shot, but I did take a day off to visit the show and I'll try to share some pictures from it when I get a chance. Besitos de Ancestro/Ancestor Kisses is 16"x20" in duo oils, framed.

So, I didn't finish my scarecrow painting, my massive household project has been eating almost all of my time and energy; but Wednesday Addams and I wanted to wish you a happy, safe, and spooky Halloween (okay the safe is from me...). The painting is 11"x14" acrylic with texture in some of the cemetary tombstones on canvas, framed.
This is the sketch I submitted for the Ontario Museum of Art Show DÃa de los Muertos: Recuerdos de Sabores/Flavorful Memories Exhibit. The theme was memories and food and I decided on a whimsical headress of pan dulce that was composed of sweet bread that I shared with my grandparents on the head of a maiden kissed by her ancestor.
I plan on sharing some work in progress views of the piece as well as the finished piece on Dia de los Muertos, but if you'd like to see the original completed painting in person, it's up at the museum. The information is below.

I have an art piece up at the DÃa de los Muertos: Recuerdos de Sabores/Flavorful Memories Exhibit at the Ontario Museum of Art. I love creating Day of the Dead art and I hope you will love this piece. I will be sharing my sketch and some of my works in progress shots of the piece soon. This is layer two of the underpainting of this big eye Latina mermaid... The original painting is 16"x20" duo oils on wood. At this point in the wip work in progress, I've worked on the rocks as well. I think I will give her at least one more underpainting layer before I proceed with the next layers...
