What's the Piggy Been Doing?

I've finally done some things besides reading and gaming.

On August 28 I went to a book market and got two me-sized books.

Last Thursday we heard our favorite restaurant was closing at the end of August, so we decided to eat there one last time.

Yum Yum!

After our meal we said goodbye to the restaurant.

Bye, bye, cooks. Thanks for all those awesome meals.

I'll miss this place.

The main entrance.

Bye, lions and Buddha.

One last picture with one of the lions.

On Friday we were meeting my owner's aunt.
We went to the station to greet her as soon as she arrived.

We went into town for a lovely lunch, but my owner forgot to take a picture. After lunch we visited the Martini tower and we climbed it!

I think these ropes are to ring the bells.

The tower has bells that can play all kinds of songs. I'm not sure if these were those bells or just replicas. I think replicas, because bells should be bigger, right?

That's more like it!

We had a great view!

We even went higher, but they put wire at the windows, so you couldn't fall off.

We climbed all the steps down again and showed my owner's aunt the dragon outside of the tower.

We did some shopping and sightseeing and my owner and me got a book gift card from her aunt, so we bought two books of course. At the end of the afternoon my owner's aunt went back home. We had an awesome day!

At home a package from Jeffe was waiting for us, and it was full of books! There were also marzipan piggies for me. Thanks, Jeffe!

Today we got a present from my owner's best friend:

Zomlings!
They're zombielike creatures, and they are really cool! I immediately made a picture of them with one of my zombie books.

One of the Zomlings is a piggy!

Thanks, K!

Candy and yet another Hat

I got a bag of candy from one of our co-workers at work today!

And we bought another hat.
This one is red and I gave it to my brother Dougal because it matches his pants.

Mail!

Today we checked the mailbox at our house (the one that's being renovated) and there was mail for me!

Look, it had a pig on the back of the envelope.

It turned out to be a card from Marlowe and his Mom.
They included stickers of barn animals including the pig that was also on the back of the envelope.

And these beautiful pictures of some of my North American cousins. They look healthy and it looks like they have lots of fun.

Thanks Marlowe! I'm very happy with this great mail!

Candy and Mail!

It was a tiring day at work today, but my owner got us some candy so I could take a candy break from time to time.

And when I got home there was mail for me!

It came from Canada so at first I thought it might be from Moira, but it turned out to be from Snappy. It's a collage from relatives that live in Canada.

I really like this picture, but the whole card is cool! Thanks Snappy, I love it.
Hmmmm.... I might try to make a collage of the McPigs living here for Snappy sometime.

News from Canada full of Easter fun.

As I told you awhile ago, we had a visit from cousin Moira, who was on her way to Canada to go live there with Marie, a very good friend of my owner.
She promised to stay in touch and she stayed true to her word: today I received Moira's first email with pictures and stories of her life in Canada. I posted both pictures and Moira's stories below:

Hi Sullivan and everyone else. I arrived safely in Canada after a week of traveling.
I already made friends with everyone here and I want to start with introducing you to some of them.
In this picture you can see from left to right: Purple Kitty, then Pinky Pig, Chickie the chick, me and 2 cows - Molly and Sunshine, Diva the chihuahua, Elliot the Elephant, Brown Bear and Grover. As you can see we're following your blog overhere.

Me and Diva the chihuahua became friends immediately. We discovered we have a shared passion for fashion.

We're also getting into the spirit of Easter. Here I am getting ready to paint a large paper mache egg together with Princess, the daughter of Marie. Princess made the egg herself!

Look, I got my own brush to paint the egg.

Here I am on Princess' shoulder overlooking the progress of the painting.
She's doing a great job I think.

Marie also boiled some real eggs to paint.

I got my own egg to paint just for myself.

And here is the finished result, Marie helped me out a bit as it was my first time painting an egg.
I think it's the prettiest egg I've ever seen.

Garden Center

Today we went to a very large garden center in Twente, a region in the province of Overijssel, south of Groningen.

One of the first things we saw when we entered the garden center was this large collection of piggy banks!

They also had lots of plants ofcourse. I felt like I was in a jungle from time to time.

I encountered this mysterious pond which had a snail and a ladybug in it.

They also had lots of cars that were just my size!
I couldn't resist trying some of them out:

At the toys section I met two family members and a toucan.
We brought the toucan home with us, his name is Coco.

More pig related merchandise.
I think this was supposed to be a placemat.

After all the shopping we went to a restaurant for pancakes and hot chocolate.

A picture of me outside of the restaurant.

When we got home we took some pictures of the cool stuff I got today:
