Spackle & Muslin Bag DIY with Jenifer Cowles

Spackle and Muslin Bag Tutorial
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles
My Pinterest boards are filled with projects that use texture mediums and stencils, but until today I've been too chicken to try it for myself. Jen is back sharing a super easy project on adding texture to our muslin bags. I can't wait to try this out!

Jenifer placed a stencil over one of our muslin bags. Ensuring it was flat she used regular household spackle (found in any hardware store or even Walmart). She spread a thin and even layer over the stencil with a spatula and then lifted the stencil off.

Allow the spackle to dry completely based on the manufacturer's recommendations and then embellish. Jenifer topped her bag with our ruffled fabric ribbon, clothes pins,  fabric flowers and glitter butterflies.

Christmas Gift Card Holder with Alyssa McGrew

Christmas Gift Card Holder
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew

Every now and then, and event comes up that requires a gift card be given.  Gift cards can be very impersonal, though, so I really like to make cards with them that add a personal touch.  In this case, I used some glitter snowflakes from the shop to add some holiday sparkle.  Now, the gift cards I'm giving at Christmas will feel so much more personalized!

Shellye,  covered a straw wreath with burlap star ribbon and then attached a variety of bright shabby chic flowers with corsage pins.  By using corsage pins, you can change out the colors of the flowers to go with the seasons!

Chevron Ghost Tags

Chevron Embossed Ghost Tags - Curtsey Boutique
The kids and I were just discussing our options for Halloween Costumes - it appears they are going to be some feminist version of the Avengers - 3 female super heroes with a good looking male side kick. I can't wait for the photos!

White Chevron Embossed Tags - Curtsey Boutique
This got me in the Halloween spirit so I thought I would make a few super simple ghost tags for treats for their church youth group.

Just 3 steps to becoming "boo-tiful."

1. Trim along embossed chevron design along the bottom.

2. Hot glue buttons of various shapes for the eyes and mouth.

3. Add Black and White Bakers Twine ( I like about 12 inches)

The Chevron Embossed Tags are from the shop and come in an assortment of fun colors.

If you just want to get straight to the scary cuteness the Ghost Tags are also available in the Shop.

Have a ghastly good day,

CarrieAnne
