Sept. 6.....give to the LORD the glory

Psalm 96:6-7 “Splendor and majesty go before him; praise and grandeur are in his sanctuary. Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and praise; give to the LORD the glory due his name!”
Heavenly Father,
Just saying the words….splendor, majesty, praise, grandeur, strength, glory….conjures up visions of a God so wonderful that I bow in awe and reverence. Man’s words are inadequate to describe you or praise you or glorify you. The things that I write here are just words. My words are pretty worthless and it makes me wonder why I record them. I guess because in writing them I sometimes catch a glimpse of who you are. I see the Father who loves me. I see the Creator who made me. I see the Rock that stands in any storm or trial. I see the Good Shepherd who knows me and hunts for me when I’m lost. I see the Light of the World that shines out of the darkness, so I can find my way. I see the Bread of Life that feeds me and the Living Water that quenches my thirst. I see the Lamb, worthy to be slain, dying for me. I see the Resurrection and the Life risen up and ascended to his rightful place. I see Father, Son, and Holy Spirit….3 in 1…..1 in 3….above and beside and around and within me. My words can’t adequately describe, but my heart can know you. I can seek and find, ask and be answered, knock and you’ll open the Door. I can accept your gift of grace with eagerness and rip off the wrappings and have it now! The kingdom of heaven! I can eagerly anticipate the heaven yet to come in your holy presence. I can trade my burdens for peace, my sin for forgiveness, my death for life! I can let you “bring me to your holy mountain, the place where you dwell.” Thank you! Word of all Words! King of kings! LORD of LORDS! Amen.
