The biggest golf news of the day, Tiger wins a golf tournament. This is getting to be old news. (LOL) He won his 7th worldwide and his 5th PGA tournament. He has actually won 8 of his last 9 tournaments worldwide. He won it on a breaking putt of 21 foot on the last hole. He did the same thing to Phil Michelson in 2001. He again shot -4 for the day winning by one stroke. He is unbelievable as a golfer. This is the 5th time he has won at Bay Hill.
He ties the great Ben Hogan on the all time winners list and now has only number two Jack Nicklaus in his sights. He just recently past Arnold Palmer on the all time winners list and Arnold looked perfectly happy that he had won his tournament. Tiger plays again next week in Miami and is the defending champion. Tiger was excited about the winning putt but was gracious in his victory. How can you bet against him?
In other sporting news Texas did not win their title game so now we have to wait for the brackets to see if they get an at large bid to The Dance.
Jo: Maybe Kent State will not have a chance to meet Texas.
In NASCAR news 3 Chevrolet's go 1,2,3 but no Hendricks team drive are there. What's going on with Hendricks? Jeff Gordon has not won yet and neither has defending champion Jimmie Johnson. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is doing better then both of them. At least Jr. is in the top 12 as of now.

Tiger Watch / KSU Wins MAC
Tiger was 7 strokes behind at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Bay Hill Classic. If we have learned anything with Tiger is don't count him out. Tiger shoots -4 to go to -6 and is tied for the lead with several others. He is going for his 7th win in a row going back through last year. He has won this tournament the last 4 times. I wouldn't bet on anyone else tomorrow.
Kent Stat wins the MAC Tournament and gets a birth to the NCAA. It was a 19 point win for the Golden Flashes. They will be ranked fairly high among the 64 elite NCAA teams. Kent State lead the whole game and never gave Akron a chance to come back like the last game they played.

Tiger Wins 6th in a Row
Tiger easily beat Stewart Cink to win the Accenture World Match Play Championship for the third time. Tiger had two close matches out of the six but had no problem closing out this one on the 29th hole of the 36 hole championship round. That meant that Americans finished 1st, 2nd and 4th for a very good American showing in the Tournament.
Way to go Tiger, The Masters is coming in April as the first Major of the year. I believe Tiger will be Number 1 in the Fed-Ex Cup after having played only two tournaments.

Tiger Wins Both Matches Today
Tiger played well enough to win his to matches today. He handled AJ Choi fairly easily and advanced to the final 4. He then beat last year Champion Henrick Stenson in the last few holes to advance to the final 2. This leaves two Americans in the World Championship 36 hole Match. Justin Leonard will play Stenson for third place.
Stewart Cink hasn't won on the tour for since 2004, in which he won twice, and Tiger is going for seven wins in seven starts around the world. It sounds like a mismatch but sometimes golf can be a funny game. Cink played a wonderful front nine today with 5 birdies and an eagle. That would of given Tiger a run today. We'll have to see what he does tomorrow.

Tiger Moves on in Match Play
Tiger takes 20 holes to beat Arron Baddley. The pair had 22 birdies between them but the final Birdie on the 20tth hole wins it for Tiger. The field is cut to 8 players with Tiger playing AJ Chio. Tiger is still going forward to win 6 tournaments in a row.
Badds had birdie putts on 17, 18 and 19 but couldn't close the door on Tiger. If you give Tiger a chance the inevitable will happen.
The field is cut to 4 in the morning and then to 2 in the afternoon. The finals are tomorrow when they go to a 36 hole tournament. I wonder if he can win again this year?

Tiger Goes For 6 In a Row
Tiger Woods #1 player was playing JB Holmes #16 player in the Accenture Match Play Championship. They play the high rank players against the low rank players so you have the best rising to the finals. They forgot to tell JB that this was an easy win for Tiger.
It was a JB who had Tiger down 3 with five holes to play. Tiger isn't one to give up. JB hits a long ball and out drove Tiger almost every time.
The story then goes as follows:
Hole 14 - 15' Birdie 2 down with 4 to play
Hole 15 - 18' Birdie 1 down with 3 to play
Hole 16 - 20' Birdie all square with 2 to play
Hole 17 - 35' Eagle 1 up with 1 to play
Hole 18 - Par JB misses Birdie - Tiger wins
Yes, that's 88' of putts on 4 holes, no wonder he's the #1 player in the world.
JB had an excellent response. “You’re playing the best player in the world, 3 up with 5 to play,” JB Holmes said. “I just said, ‘Don’t do anything stupid. Make him beat you.’ And he did. What do you do?”

Tiger Wins Second Tournament in Dubai
Tiger goes to Arabia to win his second tournament. Dubai, what a place. I have gotten several E-mails on that country. They built a building to house a ski slope. They also built an palm shaped island in the Gulf and sold million dollars houses to the rich. It was sold out before the island was finished.
Tiger was ahead after the 1st & 2nd rounds but fell behind by 4 strokes on Saturday. With a typical Tiger charge, he put enough pressure on the rest of the golfers to win the tournament. He shot -7 the first day and -7 the the last day. He fooled around at even par for the combined middle days. This was not the runaway victory like the first win but it still was impressive all the same.

Tiger Woods Does It Again
Tiger Woods won his 62nd tour win tying one of my favorite golfers from the past Arnold Palmer. Tiger has caught Arnie at 32 years of age. Arnie won tournaments into his 50's. There are only three golfers ahead of him on the most wins list and Ben Hogan is only two ahead. The way Tiger is playing that may take a couple of months for him to pass him. This course is where a major is played this year. Talk about a sure thing. If he continues to keep his game, watch out for at least two majors this year.
Tiger just doesn't win golf tournaments, he punishes the other golfers. At one point in this tournament he was -21 when the others were -9. It is very hard to win a tournament by 8 strokes and it would have been more if Tiger hadn't relaxed toward the end. He actually lost his concentration and just played his way into the clubhouse. The rest of the field was already destroyed at that point. It doesn't make for an exciting finish but when Tiger is playing like this he is a joy to watch.
