Header Competition Season 3 # 14 - "Photograph the Photographers "

The theme this week is by Mac is "Photograph the Photographers". Mac, Gail's ManDave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that.

I tried to decide what to show this week. Should I show this blog's photographer. I was at my daughters house watching the Steelers get beat by the Broncos. I went to take my driving test and even though I passed I realized I needed glasses. I had trouble tying hooks while fishing but put it off until now.
Maybe I should capture myself with my camera. There are some of my photographs behind me on the wall. This is a mirror shot.
I could show a photo of a friends daughter taking a photo with my camera.
How about a capture from our visit to Brixen, Italy with two different photographers taking photos. No matter where you looked there were wonders to capture with your camera.

I wanted to add a fun mirror shot (similar to fun house mirrors)of myself so here goes.
finally decided on a professional photographer taking a staged photo. He didn't seem to mind the capture but if he did I wouldn't have understood the language anyways.
See what the others show at the above links.

Header Competition Season 2 # 3 - Sound Creation

The header theme this week by Gail's Man is "Sound Creation". MacGail's Man,LannyDave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

How could I think about sound creation without remembering our Spring trip crossing the Alps with the Shaker Heights Band. I bring back fond memories of our trip to Europe with a few views of the band creating sound. I start with a town in the foothills of the Alps - Brixen, Italy. This horn was creating a lot of sound as I crept in for the shot.
The trombones were sliding away creating the sound just right.
Can you find a more beautiful scene then from the birthplace of Mozart - Salzburg, Austria. Quite the crowd to hear the band. It was Spring and you could hear the sound of music in the air.
One of my favorite places was Innsbruck, Austria - How I love the tuba. I stood on my head for the shot. Just kidding, but that is me in the yellow shirt.
So I chose a header of the band playing at Innsbruck in the Alps. I love the view from the plaza near the Golden Roof.

My World Tuesday Season # 2 Episode # 31

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren,  Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Click to visit other sites.

Austria was a beautiful country and we went to Salzburg for the final concert. There was so much to see. This is a music loving area and there was a great turn-out to see the Shaker Heights Band perform. This is a view of the old city.
This castle on the hill was so neat.

The house in which Mozart was a youngster was held in high esteem.

The band had some polka fun with the people.

Proud Mom and Dad, my son the director was given a plaque for the performance.

Go visit around the world above.

My travels through Europe brought me to Munich, Germany. We visited the Marienplatz. This was a photographers dream with very special architecture. I do love all the towers.
How could I resist a fountain honoring the fish.
The Neues Rathaus (New City Hall) was just outstanding.
Here is the famous Rathaus-Glockenspiel. It was really beautiful. They did have it protected with wire mesh.
You can see a lot of different worlds above.

Our group crossed the Alps into Germany and stopped at Fussen. This is the location of two castles. This first one you see is the Royal Castle of Hohenschwangau. It was made in the 12th century. It was rebuilt by King Maximllian II in the 1830's the father of King Ludwig II.
You then look up on a hill and you see Neuschwanstein's Castle 1869-1886, built by (Mad) King Ludwig II.  Some of you who have been to Disneyland may recognize the style of the castle. It was a foggy/rainy day for this photo.
The weather broke as I reached the top of the hill, what a neat place.

The scenery and waterfalls also added to the beauty of the area.

Looking down to his father's castle added to the specialness of this castle. I hope you enjoyed this part of my trip.

You can travel around the world above.

Header Competition # 28 - People

The header theme this week by Tom and is "Sports". Mac,TomDarlaMarthaGail's Man and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week.
This week Darla chose the theme of "PEOPLE". This is a broad subject and I took a lot of people shots on the trip.

My first person is a fellow flying companion on my tour, Darby. She was just being a kid on the ferry ride to Lido, Italy. We had been up for 28 hours.
A cute little boy at Salzburg, Austria. What a smile.
On the bus to the Neuscwanstien Castle with a friendly rider. She only spoke Japanese.
A neat gentleman in Lido, Italy. I love the hat, he took off his sunglasses for me. He was having his morning smoke break.
A photographer doing his job in Brixen, Italy. I was doing mine in capturing him.
My son, the director of the Shaker High School Band, with his proud parents. Salzburg awarded him a plaque.

Now here is something I've always wanted to do, stand on a post all day. An outfit from "The Wizard of Oz".
But I finally chose the modern girl taking a break on the cell phone. First you have to climb off the post.

We leave Brixen, Italy and drive across the Alps through the Brenner Pass to Innsbruck, Austria. What do you think this is?
Castles on the hill are a common sight.

But this is the city of Olympic fame and the structure was a restaurant above the Bergisel Ski Jump Hill built in 2001.

The city of Innsbruck settled in the valley between the Alps.

The famous Golden Roof, what a setting in this city. The band performed 100 yards away in the square.

Who is that photographer on his head for the shot?
Why, it is yours truly just behind the band. The crowd of people was quite large.

Header Competition # 27 - Three

The header theme this week by Tom and is "Sports". Mac,TomDarlaMarthaGail's Man and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week.

This week I chose the subject of THREE. We will see what everyone discovered during the week. As I traveled Europe, I saw a recurring theme of Three. Here are the three arches of the castle bridge in Verona.
The same castle had three openings in the top of the tower.
A church in Salzburg had three door and a repeating three window theme. Check out the numbers on the doors. Built in 774, rebuilt in 1628 and again in 1959.
This was in Venice and a perfect example of three towers above the city.
Finally, I chose to show this building from Wurzburg, Germany along the Romantic Road to Frankfurt.

This is a close-up of the header. Three levels in the roof, three sets of towers on the two sides and three time pieces.  There is a sundial, a 24 hour clock and a normal clock. Even the windows give a count of three up the slope. As a bonus, did you see the three roof peaks in a row? I didn't until today.

My World Tuesday Season # 2 Episode # 27

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren,  Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive.

Brixen, Italy - located in the foothills of the Alps. This is the second place the band performed as they crossed the Alps.
There was a church from the 1400's on the square.
The Shaker Band performed in front of the church from the 1700's.

A quick look inside, check out the ceiling.

My son the band's director giving the rules for the rest of the day after the performance.

I do hope you enjoyed the northern part of Italy.

Today's Flowers # 88

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 2 GMT is the post time.

Here are some more flowers I saw on my Europe trip. We were gathering to tour Mirabell Palace Garden in Salzburg, Austria. This little flowering tree begged for a photo. The wife and our new friends Mary and Dave are just behind the tree. The palace is right behind.

The hanging blooms were just beautiful on the tree.
This is the garden where part of "The Sound of Music" was filmed.
The gardens were not in full bloom but you can see some of the beauty to come.
I couldn't get Mrs. Fishing Guy to twirl but she did pose at the fountain where the childrens and Jule Andrews danced.
Visit a lot of neat sites to see above.
