I Love It Here | Erica Thompson

Can you believe it is September already? My term is almost up here at The Cut Shoppe but don't worry you can still see plenty of projects using Ashley's awesome cut files on  my Instagram and YouTube! Today I want to share a layout I created using the Geo to Go cut file! I love background files like this where I can use different pattern papers to fill in the background! This is also a great cut file to use up small scraps!

I recently took a little road trip down to Georgia to teach some workshops! I had the best time at the iScrap On shop and meeting all the wonderful ladies! I can't wait to go back in November! I cut the file out on some white cardstock and pulled out the Doodlebug Design I Heart Travel collection. I used the 6x6 paper pad to back the cut file.

I love the colors and icons in this collection. It is perfect for all kinds of travel! The odds & ends die cut packed is jam packed and oh so cute! There are little geo tags with faces that are just super cute! I knew I had to use the Geo to Go cut file with this collection.
The photos I printed in black and white since they really did not match all the colors I used on the background. The cut file is popped up on foam adhesive and adhered to a white piece of cardstock. To finish off the layout I tucked in different die cuts around the photos and added some enamel stickers.
Here is a look at my completed layout using the Geo to Go cut file!

First Day of School | Erica Thompson

Hey everyone! Erica here with you today to bring you a back to school layout featuring the Too Cool For School cut file! This was a Freebie Friyay cut file from a few weeks ago and I could not wait to get it on a layout!
I pulled out some of the Doodlebug Design School Days collection because I thought it would be perfect with this cut file. I used the 6x6 paper pad to back the cut file and I used some Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to adhere the paper. This has been my go to adhesive the last few months. I love the primary colors in this collection and I had fun backing the fun images that are also in the different letters in the cut file.
I am documenting 4 photos of Eli James first day of school and his super cool Avengers backpack! He was so proud of it and the blue on the bag matches the blue in the collection! Perfect!
Make sure to check out all the awesome Freebie files in the shop along with the newest release! Here is a look at my completed layout and you can check out my process video HERE on YouTube or catch it down below!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Summer | Erica Thompson

Did you see the Freebie Friyay cut file that was released yesterday? Well here is a look at it and you are going to want to head on over and download it today!
Super cute right? I cut this out as soon as Ashley posted it for design team members and began to create with it. I backed it with a lot of the papers from the Bella Blvd Splash Zone collection.
This cut file is perfect for all your summer photos! You can download it free HERE in The Cut Shoppe. Once my cut file was backed I decided to add some mists to my white background. I pulled different colored mists from my stash that matched my backed cut file. I sprayed the mists directly on my paper and blotted up with a napkin. I also added a couple splatters around the page. I just pulled the spray nozzle out of the bottle and flicked it all over the page.
I used die cuts from the Splash Zone collection to embellish my layout and an epoxy flair from Scappin Happy Studio. Here is a look at my completed layout using the Beach Vacation Freebie Friyay cut file. I hope it inspires you to create something colorful and fun! Make sure to join us over in The Cut Shoppe Scrap Spot on Facebook if you are not already there! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Shine Like the Stars | Iris Fox

Hello! Iris Fox here with my very first layout as a design team member and I couldn't be more excited!!  I used the Lucky Stars cut file that came out last month.  Stars are one of my favorite icons and so it was great timing.

I started out by cutting the cut file with my Silhouette Cameo at just under 11 inches from white cardstock.  Initially I had it in mind to use as a stencil and I pulled out a grey textured cardstock for my background.  As I lay the cut file on, I decided to combine stenciling and the actual cut file.  So I tore it in half, and on the top half I spritzed white mist through the stencil to get the stars on the background.

I backed some of the stars with a buttery yellow cardstock.  I matted my photo with a couple pieces of vellum so you can still see some of the stars behind them, and also I placed my photo slightly off center so that not all the center stars would be blocked. I built a couple of clusters on either side of the photo with die-cut, chipboard, label, star-shaped paper clip, and I tucked thread under the title die-cut circle for extra texture and contrast. Almost everything is from Felicity Jane, except for the title die-cut which is Dear Lizzy.

Along the top left and bottom right, I used torn strips of vellum and star washi to add some interest in blank spots.  They are topped with chipboard circles and star elements.

To tie things together, I stuck a strip of the star washi under the date label, and then I sprinkled star sequins around all the embellishment clusters.

I love the combination of textures and materials, and the softness of the misting above contrasting with the sharp lines of the cut file below.

Stop by The Cut Shoppe to check out this and all the other fabulous cut files.

I cut the file out of some white American Crafts cardstock and backed it with some papers from Rosie's Studio Arabesue Collection!

I added a lot of splatters to my background using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink and some Black Heidi Swapp Color Shine.
I embellished with die cuts and puffy stickers from Rosie's Studio along with an epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio.
I love this photo that was taken on my younger brothers wedding day. I am the only girl with one older brother and two younger. I was very pregnant in this photo but we had a great time..swollen ankles and all!

Happy | Erica Thompson

Hello TCS fans! Erica here with you today to share a sweet layout using the Finally Fall cut file set!
https://www.etsy.com/listing/645057113/the-finally-fall-cut-file-can-be-used?ref=shop_home_active_65
I uploaded this file to my Silhouette and wanted to just use the one of the leaf files.  I cut out three of the leafs with my machine in some white smooth American Crafts card stock. I pulled out the Simple Stories Forever Fall collection I picked up in the Clique Kits shop. I absolutely love this fall collection. I backed the leaves with different pattern papers from the collection. The colors in this collection are gorgeous and rich and the perfect fall collection.
The photo is of our little Liam Jay. It was October 9th..his 1st Birthday and of coarse I had to take some photos of him on this day! The light outside was so sweet and I just set him out front on our sidewalk so that I could see the colorful trees in the background and snapped away! He was so happy clapping and laughing and I love how they turned out! I  knew this collection and the Finally Fall cut file would be perfect to document this photo.
Liam blessed our lives one year ago and he sure was a big surprise! We thought our family was complete after Eli. Little did we know there was a different plan for our family. After a couple months of being sick and not able to get out of bed I thought there is no way we could be expecting..no way. But to our surprise we were expecting and pretty far along. Things happen in life and this little blessing was meant to be ours for a reason. He is a busy, crazy, silly little boy. He sure does keep us super busy. We could not imagine our lives without him and so blessed to have him in our family. I just had to document our sweet October boy.
Once I had the leaves backed with the pretty pattern papers I glued them down to my page going from one corner of the page to the bottom corner. I added lots of layers of paper scraps behind my photo and then began to embellish with different pieces from the collection. For my title I just used the word Happy because he is so happy in this photo and he makes everyone in our family Happy. It was just perfect for this layout. This leaf cut file could be used in so many ways! I had fun decided on how to add them to my page when I started and you can see some of this in the video on my channel! Here is a look at my completed layout and I hope you enjoy it! I can't wait to see what you do with this Finally Fall cut file set! Remember to tag The Cut Shoppe when sharing your projects so we can see what you are all creating!
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! We hope to see you back again tomorrow for more cut file inspiration!

October Love with Kira

Hey friends!  It's Kira.  I know, I know...October is over.  But let me reminisce about it a bit, okay?  I live in San Antonio, and our Octobers are typically like a more mild summer, except this year we got some cold weather that made my Seattle native heart so happy!  Anyway, October is definitely my favorite month.  So much so, that I felt the need to document it.

One of my favorite cut files from The Cut Shoppe is Autumn Acres.  I've used it multiple times on a plethora of layouts.  If you haven't picked it up in the shop yet, go do it!  It's such a versatile cut file!  I hadn't used this leaf shape before, which is basically the reason I decided to use it on this layout.

I started with this rainbow background paper from the new Paige Evans Whimsical collection.  I love a good rainbow, which is what inspired this entire layout.

I grabbed some scrap paper from my stash in a rainbow of colors (substituting red for pink).  And then I cut the leaves in a few sizes from all of the papers.  Then I sat and stared at my layout for awhile, because I didn't know what direction I wanted it to take after this.  Kelly suggested some stitching behind my leaves, which let's be honest, MADE this whole page.  So thank you Kelly for the amazing suggestion!

After I stitched messing lines in various colors, I glued down my leaves.  I love texture and dimension on my layouts, so I just added a dab of glue in the center of the leaf and allowed the leaves to sort of tangle among each other.

I finished off the layout with a Color Cast Designs acrylic piece, "October is my favorite" and color blocked small embellishments among the leaves.

We'd love to see what you create with The Cut Shoppe cut files, join us in our Facebook group to share!

xo, Kira

Here Comes Santa | Erica Thompson

Hey Hey Everyone!  Erica here with you today and I am so excited to share a layout using the newest Freebie Friyay cut file!  If you are new here then you need to head on over to our Freebie Friyay page and check out all the free awesome cut files!  You will find tons of inspiration on TCS Instagram as well using these files! Here is a look at the newest Freebie Friyay cut file Fancy Floral!
As soon as I saw this file I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!  For some reason when I saw this I instantly thought of a Christmas layout!  Yes I said CHRISTMAS...I know it is only September but when inspiration hits you have to roll with it right?  Well I pulled out my huge holiday stash and went to work backing this file!  It did take a lot longer than I thought it would but it was totally worth it in the end!  I used a mix of holiday collections from my stash but most papers are from Bella Blvd.
The photo I am scrapping is one of our youngest son Liam Jay.  I bought him the cutest little Santa suit from Target and could not wait to take his photos!  He made some great faces for the camera and this is one of my favorites from our mini shoot!
That face!!  I just love it to pieces!  I knew this photo had to be in the center of the Fancy Floral cut file!  I backed it with a piece of the black pattern paper from Bella Blvd and popped it up from the page.  I also popped the cut file up as well but not as high as the photo!
I added lots of little embellishments all around the cut file and it reminds me of a holiday wreath!  I found this Ho Ho Ho wood veneer in my stash and I think it is the perfect piece for this layout!  Here is a look at my completed layout using Fancy Floral!
You can also check out my full process video by heading over to my YouTube channel HERE!  I hope you enjoyed this layout and we can't wait to see what you create with Fancy Floral!  Have a wonderful day!

So Happy Together | Marsha Farris

Hello friends!  Marsha Farris here sharing my first project with you as the newest member of The Cut Shoppe Design Team!

I was so excited to create a spread in my ringed traveler's notebook album using the new Endless Summer Printable and the Tall Titles cut file that were both added to The Cut Shoppe earlier this week.

I opened the Endless Summer Printable in Photoshop and mirrored the Afternoon Rainbow Printable paper so the rainbow border would be the same on both sides of my spread.  I also removed the word "noted" that was a feature on the paper.  I cut out the Tall Titles word "together" using the Picnic Blanket Printable paper and backed it with graph paper, one of my favorite prints to use in my TN.

I adhered an acrylic heart and used some puffy letter stickers to finish off my title.

The photos I used were taken at my family's pond during our annual photo session.  It's always fun to capture some silly shots of my guys.

I used a variety of die cuts on my layout, adding foam to some of them for dimension.  I also added enamel dots, puffy stickers, and stamped the date and the "thankful" sentiment on a couple of the die cut pieces.

I have enjoyed sharing my first TCS project with you!  Thank you for stopping by today!
