Sugar Sugar

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is alive and well today, it sure was quiet yesterday! Maybe it's the after Christmas Blues? Maybe you live in the North like I do and have had to deal with the incessant wind the past few days? It's driving me batty, it just won't stop! We got lucky as far as snow here in NE Pennsylvania, only about 6-8 inches, but further south, in parts of NJ got up to 30" of the evil white stuff! Yuck! Poor kids, I'm sure they're wishing it had snowed during school NOT vacation, LOL!
Anyway, here's another Lovey Dovey card, using a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT. I paper pieced her dress using some retired SU designer papers from a scrapping kit. I cut out a bunch of little hearts to fill up her wagon using an old, old punch from my stash.

I love these papers, my favorite for V day. Here's a close up so you can see the grass I drew in using Copics. First time for me, I've only ever done it before with colored pencils. Came out pretty good though, even if I couldn't get as fine a line with the brush tip.

Hope you like her, thanks for stopping by!

Wild Thing

Good morning everyone! I want to share this seriously cute card I made the other day, using the Wild Thing stamp set from My Favorite Things. You know, 6 months ago if I had been asked to make a card for a little boy I would have had a really hard time doing so. I think I had one stamp that I could've used. Today, with all the new designs coming out with the little boy in mind, I'm happy to say I'm very well prepared!
This little guy is just so stinkin' cute, I had to add the set to my collection. I immediately thought of this paper from My Mind's Eye. The zig zag stripes reminded me of reptiles, for some reason, LOL.

So I paper pieced the dino suit, did a bit of Gray shading with Copics, and he's as scary cute as can be. Of course, for the card background I knew I had to use the Cuttlebug Mosaic folder, and emboss the whole thing with clear EP. (Thanks to the faux leather wallet tutorial on SCS). Looks just like T-Rex skin!

Hope you like it, thanks for visiting!

Homework- Feel Better

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful comments during the JustRite Blog Hop! I loved reading them all. Don't forget to keep checking the JustRite blog for daily winners, there are some huge prizes you don't want to miss out on!
Now onto some sweetness:
Hard to believe, but I actually made a small card, lol! This is an A2 sized card. I know I don't usually put the size of my cards, but they are usually 5" x 7" or 6" square. I like 'em big, more room for pretty paper to show through, and big bows, buttons, punches, etc. But this one ended up small because I was too lazy to stamp a larger piece of the red background paper. I couldn't believe I didn't have any apple themed patterned paper, so I set about stamping my own with PTI's Fruitful apple stamps.
In order to get a really solid, matte black finish to the blackboard to make it look like a real one, I used acrylic paint and a paint brush. I think it was Delta Charcoal paint, and it covered in one quick coat. It dries in just a few minutes and I stamped the 'Feel Better' sentiment with Fresh Snow ink. I colored everything else with my beloved colored pencils.

This little cutie is sure to make anyone feel better! Thanks for looking...

Swing in the Garden

I've had this Stampin Up paper in my stash for quite a while, and never used it. I have no idea why since Baja Breeze is one of my favorite colors, ever! The colors are really beautiful in the whole collection of papers and it was my inspiration for coloring the image. I colored with my Copics, used a Sharpie extra fine white poster pen to make the polka dots on her dress.
See the flowers in the top left corner of the image? Wanna know why they're there? Well, I know they're pretty, but I wasn't going to use them. I had the whole card done, the tree leaves were covered in Ice Stickles, drying slowly, when I decided I needed a little tag for a sentiment hanging from the bow. As I was tying it on, you guessed it.....I smeared the Stickles! I tried rubbing a little too hard, and the paper got all yucky. So, the flowers were born. 'Tis what Bob Ross would call a happy accident, I guess.

Thanks for visiting me, and I love to read your comments, so please take a second to leave a small word or two!

If raindrops were kisses...

I love this little sentiment! 'If raindrops were kisses, I'd send you a storm.' How cute is that?! When I saw this new stamp from MFT released last week, I immediately knew I had to make a card using it with the sentiment. I love making mooshy-gooshy cards, lol.
I don't use this paper piecing technique too often, but I love the effect when I see others do it. I decided to give it a try. The paper is the 'Be Loved' collection from My Mind's Eye.
I made a panel of embossed raindrops to adhere the sweet little girl to, using an old Fiskars texture plate. Of course, I highlighted some of the drops with Star Dust Stickles, and added some of these sweet little pearl hearts from Hero Arts. I distressed some white twill ribbon with Antique Linen Distress ink and made a double bow with it. White was just too stark for this card.

Hope you like it, thanks for visiting!

Pure Innocence

I've been seeing these adorable little girl stamps for a little while from My Favorite Things. I thought they were the sweetest things ever right from the start, but kept putting off getting some for myself. Well, my resolve finally caved, and I ordered a couple. They came the other day, and I colored this little beauty right away. I colored her with my limited collection of Copics. She's a fairy so of course I had to add lots of sparkle to her. I used Star Dust Stickles for her wand and shoes, and Starry Night Stickles for her wings.
The soft blue sky behind and around the image was done with a colored pencil, blended with OMS. I broke out my new Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper pad for this card, such pretty colors in that collection!

I hope you like it, thanks for visiting!
