Look who's 2!
Zoe turned 2 on March 26, 2012. We had a birthday party for her the Saturday before her actual birthday. It was a balloon themed party because she LOVES balloons. There were balloons everywhere and she loved it. We had family and friends over for the occassion and had a great time. My sister and her husband flew in from San Francisco for the party.
We love you, Zoe, so very much. Thank you for being you. :)

October 2011
October is always a favorite month of ours. Both my birthday and Ryan's birthday are in the month of October so we are kind of partial. We love the fall weather and Halloween, carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating. Here are some pictures from our month of October.
Zoe at the pumpkin patch.
We carved our pumpkin a few days later. Zoe was a very helpful assistant. She stood by sipping on her Chick-fil-a lemonade.
She got distracted. She wanted a flower, as usual.
So that she could pick it apart, as usual.
Back to pumpkin carving. She wasn't a fan of the pumpkin guts.
Zoe absolutely loves panda bears. She notices them everywhere. One time we were at a park and Zoe noticed the panda on someone's Panda Express drink cup and freaked OUT. She probably has 3 or 4 different stuffed pandas, shirts with pandas on them, watches Knug FU Panda at least 3 or 4 times a week. Yeah...She LOVES them. So, when I found this panda costume, I died! I knew she would love it, and she did. Halloween night we went to our soon-to-be neighborhood to trick-or-treat. Zoe had so much fun. She was a little shy but had fun watching her bucket fill up with candy.

"Balls"
A lot has happened since the last time I blogged. Ryan graduated from Texas A&M, we moved in with my parents, Ryan started working full-time, they started construction on our house (YAY!) and Zoe has been growing like a weed. I will try to blog about all of those things but for now I will post a few pictures of our Zoe. She is just changing so much. She is very expressive whether she is mad, sad, or happy.
My parents have a walnut tree in their yard and Zoe thinks the walnuts that have fallen are balls. So it has become a daily activity to search for "balls". Zoe is 16.5 months in these pictures.
She is busy girl, it is getting harder for me to get pictures of her without her running away from me. The picture on the right below, she started zoning out. I thought it was kinda funny. She likes horse apples too - also "balls".

Hello? Anyone home?
Hey blogging friends! It has been a while, eh?! I am not sure how I got out of the habit of blogging at least every now and then... but this blogging drought of mine... not acceptable! My apologies! We have been super duper busy. (Not that you aren't) but it seemed like blogging needed to take a back seat for a little while.
So what in the world have we been up to? um...TRAVELING! A whole heck of a lot. For about 2 months solid and up until about the first of the year, we seriously went somewhere just about every weekend. Mostly just to Dallas for family visits, holidays, hunting and such, but all you moms out there KNOW what an undertaking it is just to go to the grocery store with a child, let alone plan for and pack for a family trip. Throw two dogs and a cat in the mix and you've got yourself utter chaos. Not only do you have to worry about getting yourself packed and ready to go... you, oh yeah, have a little human to take care of and worry about. It's definately not on my list of top 10 easiest things to do. And when you have a child that doesn't sleep through the night to begin with (at the time of all of this afore mentioned traveling), you better believe all the traveling and changing and moving from here to there doesn't help out with that situation one bit.
I thought I would just recap each month that I missed. It would take me forever to write it in paragraph form, and heaven knows I don't have forever. I have much less than that since Zoe is due to wake up from her nap any minute. (P.S. It has taken about 20 naps for me to get this all written!)
NOVEMBER
-I joined SCENTSY! Did you know I am now a Scentsy consultant? Well I am. And I love it and the product! PLEASE check it out. It won't disappoint I promise. http://www.marissabassham.scentsy.us
-We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with the Riggs family. Mandy and Matthew were both in town and it was fun to have them there. I can't remember everything we did but it was fun. And we laughed a lot.
-Zoe turned 8 months old. Here are some things I wrote down at the time...gives kisses, army crawls, loves her cell phone and sippy cups, sleeping a little better (only getting up once), knows the word "look", continues to be more vocal, can hand feed herself, interested in whatever we are eating or drinking, had her first fall, signs "all done", had her first Thanksgiving, LOVES turkey, pulls up in her crib, growls, teething again (i think), likes real peas.
Zoe 8 Months old. Out on a walk.

DECEMBER
-I went duck hunting for the first time since before Zoe had been born. I forgot how fun it is.
-Ryan finished one of his hardest semesters. We are all glad he is done with that. :)
-We had Christmas in a Cabin in Oklahoma. IT WAS AMAZINGLY AWESOME. It was Zoe's first Christmas and it couldn't have been more perfect.
-Zoe turned 9 months old. Some things I wrote down at the time...we are starting to wean from nursing (she has bit me way too many times), waves bye bye, loves peek-a-boo, loves pat-a-cake, loves her walker, had her first Christmas, First trip to the state of Oklahoma, crawls ALL OVER THE PLACE, can stand by herself for a few seconds, gibber jabbers all the time, eats just about anything, loves big people food.
Zoe loving all of the presents Christmas Eve. 9 months old.

My parents with Zoe. Love this picture. It captures exactly who my parents are. :)

JANUARY
-We are back to real life! Zoe is sleeping soooo much better. It is amazing how babies are affected so much by their environment. ESPECIALLY her. She has a very sensitive little spirit.
-Ryan was officially hired on by Newton Running. No longer an intern. No sir. WE LOVE Newton. You should check them out. Their shoes will seriously change your attitude about running. They did mine. www.newtonrunning.com
-Zoe turns 10 months old this month!, on January 4, 2011 she slept through the night for the first time since she was 4 months old and has been sleeping through the night ever since (except for a handful of nights), she now has 4 teeth, she got sick for the first time ever with a horrible 24 hour stomach bug, her first words were "dada" and "dog" (da), the tantrums have begun, yogurt is her favorite food and green beans are a very close second, her hair is growing is really thick and is getting longer, LOVES when daddy makes waves in tub during bath time, carries random things in her mouth while she crawls around like socks and mommy's necklaces.
January was used to get Zoe back on a SCHEDULE. Don't mind the sheet-less bed and Zoe's frumpy-ness. We spent many days doing house work and staying in our pjs all day long. We like being home.
Zoe 10 months old.
FEBRUARY
-Ryan stayed pretty busy with school and work. I am busy with Scentsy parties and orders and Photography sessions. Loving EVERY minute of it.
-For Valentine's Day our wonderful friends and neighbors, The Martins, watched Zoe for a few hours so we could go on a date. It was very much needed and Ryan did a great job planning it all out. Zoe did a great job with her first "babysitter" that was not family. Zoe loves the Martins and their sweet boys.
-Zoe turned 11 months! This is my most favorite age so far. Learning sooo much! Has six teeth now, she LOVES broccoli and bananas, sleeps from 8 to 6, new word is mama, says ROAR When you ask her what a tiger says, waves bye bye, waves hello, still taking two 2 hour naps a day, standing unasissted, can stand up without pulling up on something first, has taken one or two little steps at a time, LOVES to push her buggy around the house, loves her stuffed elephant "Ollie", experienced her first snow day.
Zoe 11 months old.
WE LOVE YOU ZOE ZOOT! You are mommy's sweet girl and daddy's little buddy.
I'm all caught up! I'll try to stay on top of the blogging this time. :)

Happenings as of late...
Last month we moved, and we love our place! It's out of town, in a quiet neighborhood, and brand new so I don't have to deal with a previous tenants grime and grossness.
Our new place has a community pool, complete with covered kiddie pool. We have taken Zoe a couple time and she loves it.
Zoe doesn't really like her tummy time. She gets pretty frustrated. I tell her it's for her own good, so that she can crawl some day. She usually ignores me and just wants to be done.
The dogs are really sweet with her. I snapped this picture one morning while Zoe and Roxie were napping together.
And it's true. Zoe loves hugs.
