I guess my "Dos Hannahs" shot (see "Wedding Bells Are Ringing All Around the Town" below) from Joey and Mercy's wedding luncheon sparked an interest in other "Dos Hannahs" that might be floating around out there. There are undoubtedly many of them. Here is one I did find - August of '94 - the little ladies would have been 9 years old.

The Rest of the Story
After the luncheon was over, we headed to Provo so Dad and Noah could check out the exhibit - Beholding Salvation: Images of Christ. It was just as great the 2nd time for me. We were joined by Hannah's friend Robbie Hamill, and we enjoyed getting to know him. We ate at Guru's - it was a day of gluttony in many ways - hopefully not in the "deadly sin" variety though!! (and the food was good - we seemed to eat all day!)
We then headed for Hannah's abode - a very charming historic Victorian that she is living in with Melanie. It is a nice place to live - nicer than any student digs I ever lived in! A nice way to live out the undergraduate years.
The house is called The Meringue House - not because it's lemon meringue pie yellow, but for the scollwork around the roof. Note the sign saying "built in 1891."
You can see a bit of the scrollwork here - and the lovely flowers.
This is Rapunzel - and she presides over the driveway! If you look at her up close, she's cross-eyed. A little spooky I'd say!
Our trip back Sunday a.m. was uneventful - we were in time for church - even early! So we had a lazy Sunday and an even lazier Monday - although I did clean the bathrooms and scrubbed the kitchen floor. And we went to IKEA for FHE - and got a new duvet and pillow cover set. We are ready for summer!!

Memory Lane
The wedding was over by 10 and then there was the picture taking - and our part in that was not lengthy. But the luncheon was not until 12:30, so we decided to visit our old Davis County haunts in Centerville and Farmington.
This was the House That Harry Built - and we didn't stay there very long - but we did own it for quite a few years. The picture actually makes it look a lot better than it really looked. As a house, it has never really achieved its destiny - it will not soon be the cover story for Country Living or anything! Which is too bad - because it always had a lot of potential.
Karen and Jeff were frequent visitors during the Centerville Years - here we are at the Hogle Zoo. Maybe 1975??

Here is the chapel in Centerville where we attended church for the 6 years we lived there. When we first moved in, the church sat on a city block surrounded by beautiful green lawn. Then the parking lots came! It was sad. But the building is still beautiful. You can't read the sign, but it was built in 1879 - and we moved away in 1979!
And this is the famous Rock House that we always talk about and tell stories about (bats in the eaves, snakes in the basement, rats in the pigeon coop, and mold on the walls!) It was sad to see it so disheveled and sad looking. It used to have a nice fence, lots of trees and flowers and a screened in front porch. Now it has a parking lot in front and there's some kind of building in the back yard - like a factory or something.
This is the only picture I could find of the front yard when we lived there from 1973 to 1977. If you look closely, you can see Bonny and Harry - and we still have that red chair - only it's green now. I'm not sure what's with my scanner - I get weird results. But if you click on it, you can see the kids.
And here is the duplex we owned - and lived in for a short time. It was always pretty doggy looking - still is apparently!!
Then we drove around to the various houses Harry had built - didn't take pictures - but they all looked pretty good. And we checked out the subdivision in Farmington - Aegean Village - it was not real "high end" but then it never was!
This is pretty much the way we looked when the Centerville Years began. Dad and I look like the little kids, don't we?? And we still have 2 unattached kids to hang out with!
We also visited the 9 units we used to own in Farmington and recounted the tales of going there on Saturdays in the truck and getting the trash and taking it to the dump - then getting the dimes out of the washers and dryers in the apartments and going to Porky's Milk Can and Family Drive In for Betty Burgers and malts. Those were the "good old days" indeed!
We seemed to have a story for every corner we passed - Hannah and Noah were very patient - maybe even learned a thing or two about the days of yore!
On a sad note, Centerville Elementary as Bonny and Harry knew it is no more- there's a shiny new building instead.
Sometimes you really can't go home again.

Wedding bells are ringing all around the town!!
(This is indeed a looong post - but it was kind of a looong day! And any gathering that includes Claytons, usually has a lot of people to include!!)
The wedding festivities began with the bride and groom coming out of the temple to cheers and applause.
We managed to get together for a group photo - I suggest clicking on it to see who was there!
A mother and daughters shot - we missed Mary!
A grandkids shot - even with the majority of the grandkids not there, it was a big group!
The Groom's family pose while waiting for the doors to open and reveal the newlyweds!
Harry and Richard in earnest conversation - about??
Harry, Fred and Charlie smile for the ever-present cameras!
That's Hester and Noah going incognito!! (There were a lot of papparazzi around - ha, ha!!))
Joey and Sam posing while we waited for the signal to sit down and eat!

Finally, the show got on the road!
Leslie, the new mother-in-law, with Mercy, the new daughter-in-law! Note the sash Mercy added to her dress - we all agreed it was the perfect accessory!
Eldredge House in Bountiful was the very lovely setting for the luncheon.
Erika, Felipe and girls came too. They had a busy day - with a birthday party for Carolina right after the luncheon!!
There are other wedding photos included in posts before this one - and on my blog.
If you weren't there, we missed you - if you were, it was great to see you!!

TINTIN Meets Fauxhawk
Dad's been reading an incredibly interesting article in the New Yorker about TINTIN and said that we should do a blog on TINTIN and fauxhawks. And actually this all goes back to a photo Eliza has on her blog where Dad is holding Theo and Dad's "bed hair" is remarkably similar to a fauxhawk. Eliza told him that; he didn't know anything about fauxhawks.
But now he does!
He commented that we should research this out before we blogged about it - so now we know more about fauxhawks than we really ever needed to know.
But we are feeling hip and au courant indeed!
I discovered this in my search - Dad and Chad at the Dodger game last June - Chad has the fauxhawk in this one. (In case you weren't sure!!)
And the famous one that will probably start showing up on Terrill sites everywhere is Matt here with Theo! He seems surprised to be so "au courant!"
And the picture that started it all (at least for us old folks here - we just learned about mullets last year, for heaven's sake - how would we have known about fauxhawks!?) was taken while Eliza and Theo were here visiting at the first of the month. I've seen Dad looking like this for a lot of years and never knew he was so hip. (Well, I've always known he was "hip" but not "so hip!!")

Some belated greetings
Saturday was Camille's birthday - this is a shot from awhile ago, since Annika is a baby in this shot. Saturday was also Tami Tekulve's birthday and Sarah Robert's birthday - and we hope they were happy occasions!!
Saturday was Harry and Dawn's 7th wedding anniversary - no itches apparent - they are loving their new home and all that goes with that! Harry said they celebrated - we were in Utah, but we'll take his word for it!
And today is Sarah's 20th birthday - here she is mugging for the camera with Hannah - after the wedding. She's spending her birthday driving non-stop back to Kansas after the wedding festivities.
We did celebrate on Saturday though - with cake and punch and presents.
Today is also Spencer's birthday - shown here with Mom and Dad after the wedding yesterday.
I guess he's spending it with his family!!
And this is actually an early greeting to Michael, whose birthday is tomorrow. I guess he's spending it in Texas!
