Documenting December | GoGoGetaway

I absolutely love this time of year but one of the things I loath is the dark overcast days. It makes photographing layouts a nightmare. Here are a few pages from my December album which I created for GoGo Getaway. The focus was to use the WRMK tearing rulers as the technique base.

I kept the technique quite simple as they are small layouts and I wanted the photos and stories to be the main attraction of the pages.

I've used a mix of old and new stash to create my album this year. However, mostly the papers are from the Simple Stories Merry and Bright Collection.

Getaway Challenges | GoGo Getaway

Each GoGo Getaway there are challenges set by each of the teaching Design Team. We always like to include some of our versions on the blog the month afterwards.

As I wasn't teaching at this event I didn't complete all the challenges like I usually would but here are two that I created to showcase on the blog. Further details of the challenges can be found in the November blog posts.

Christmas Cuties | Stick It Down

I'm up on the Stick It Down blog with this new layout using this month's festive sketch.

I've gone for a more subtle approach to the wreath design on the sketch by using white on white. The wreath cut file is by Paige Evans.

Also I'm trying to use up some of last years Christmas stash.

I would love to see you join in with the sketch challenge.

Lovely | Stick It Down

I'm up on the Stick It Down blog today with this single page layout using their fab sketch this month. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone and I love the end result.

#crazyboy | Stick It Down

This month's Single Page sketch layouts are u on the Stick It Down Challenge Blog

Boy did I find this month a challenge. The sketch was right up my street but they also collaborated with White with One and the one colour we could use was grey. I love colour so I found this really hard work, so much so that I put it off until the last minute.

However, saying that I really like the layout I have created. Totally outside my comfort zone but still my style.

Deep Griha | October Challenge | GoGo Getaway

Wow, the 1st October already! Over on the GoGo Getaway Blog we have Ester setting this month's challenge.

I managed to get a sample layout done for it this month and I love the Moodboard she created to use as inspiration.

I went for a colour on colour mix with the backing patterned paper and the embellishments that I clustered on top. I used up loads of old bits and pieces from my stash which makes me very happy.

I have to thank my lovely teamie Lisa who donated those lovely tiny Indian style gems that finished the layout off perfectly.

Snow Cute | UK Scrap Addicts

I've been up on the UK Scrap Addicts Blog this month with my take on using paint on a layout. We had no specifications as to type of paint or how to use it which meant there are so many different layouts created by the team this month. Why not head over to check them out?

MIA Again | Life update

Well Autumn is upon us, Starbucks are selling Pumpkin Spiced Latte again and I've been rather MIA from the blog. I've still been uploading regularly to my Instagram and Facebook profiles but sadly my blog has been a little neglected.

Life has been a little crazy for me so far this year to say the least. But a few exciting things have been happening whilst I've been away.

I'm excited to have joined the Pretty My Page Design Team with 5 other wonderful ladies. This company specialises in Cutfiles and is based here in the UK.

I've also managed to get myself a new job which is exciting and daunting all at the same time. I've been in my current job since leaving university 9 years ago and instead of shift work I'll be working standard office hours (queue renditions of Dolly Parton 9 to 5).

The summer has been a lot of fun and included a fab get together with some of the GoGo Getaway Girls in London for a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed afternoon tea. They are such a wonderful team and it was great to be amongst like minded people who didn't mind posing for photos every 2 seconds or that I took 6 photos of my cup of tea.

We've just had a nice break to Tunisia. Sun, sea and relaxation! Certainly not our usual type of holiday but still enjoyed all the same.

Hopefully I'll be back blogging regularly over the next few months but who knows what life will throw my way especially with this new job.

Happy Days | Stick It Down DT

I'm up on the Stick It Down blog as the featured designer this month. I'm totally in love with this month's sketch by Laura Rumble.

I fussy cut some butterflies from an older Paige Evans patterned paper and colour matched them to the paint strips.

I've been loving doing some brush lettering for my titles and adding in some machine stitching.

Happy Scrapping!
