GoGo Getaway | Lovely

Good morning from a lovely sunny and warm holiday weekend here in the UK. Today I'm over on the GoGo Getaway blog with my take on Nancy's Nuvo Crystal Drop technique.

It would be great to drop in and see all the fabulous layouts the ladies are creating. Plus remember we are having monthly challenges over on our Facebook group, you've got to be in it to win it!

~ Like For Ever - November Moodboard ~

Good morning from a cold and dreary UK! Its a good job Christmas is during winter otherwise I would be totally over this season! Although its a little early to have Christmas decorations up in November, mine go up the first weekend in December.

Every month Nicola compiles a Moodboard to give us inspiration with our Like For Ever Kit. This month's is right down my street. Will you just look at those pinks and blues!!! I'm squealing slightly at the thought of them.

I used mostly the 'Stargazer' kit to create this 12x12 page but added in a few bits and pieces from my stash. I used the colour scheme, florals, glitzy dress and script from the Moodboard as my inspiration.

I'm so in love with these beautiful teal blue glittery thicker words, the script font is perfect. I added quite a few gold texture paste stars to add interest to the plain background. The pink patterned paper has some pale pink flowers and I used the butterfly paper as I imagine my cat is dreaming of chasing butterflies.

I've left a lot of white space on this layout but I tried really hard not to add anything extra to it. I'm really pleased with how it looks. I've had these photos of my little boy cat asleep on our bed for a while and have been waiting for inspiration to get it scrapped. He is such a little cutie!!

~ Snap Happy ~

Hi there, so I'm trying to catch up with some of my travel albums as I am so behind! These photos are from my trip to Cambodia in 2012.

I created this layout using Basic Grey 'Typeset' collection and some Ali Edwards stamps from the 'Wild' Story Stamp. Using a 7x5 black and white photo means it stands out well from the busy background.

Lots of small areas of layers and clusters of embellishments.

With a sprinkling of Gold Heidi Shine mist to add a little extra bling and texture.

~ Monochrome challenge - Differences noted ~

Over on Shimelle.com this week is a great challenge featuring Monochromes! Find the original post here. I've never really stuck to one colour plus black/white so I found this challenge particularly good fun.

I've had this photo printed off a while but not really found the inspiration to scrap it. I decided I wanted to use this photo to tell the story of how me & my fiancĂ© have some very different interests. He is follows pretty much any sport which I just don't understand and I have my crafting and scrapbooking. When you first meet some one you worry about your differences but actually it balances out well for us. When he watches sky sports I go up in my craft room to play with pretty paper, but we do make time to do things together.

This layout was made using patterned paper from various different manufacturers and embellishments from my stash. I wanted the photo and the background to be the main focus for the page so kept the embellishments to a minimum. I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks on plastic packaging spritzed with water to create the blue tones on the background.

Today has been such a happy crafty day as I received 2 pizza boxes from Like For Ever and Hey Little Magpie full of gorgeous stash ready for my retreats in March.

Head back here on Tuesday for a new Stick It Down DT layout and a new process video.

~ A long engagement ~

So we got engaged in October 2013 and I can't believe it was so long ago. We still haven't got married or even set a date as neither of us can decide on the type of wedding we want and don't feel in any rush to at the moment. I was shocked when I realised I hadn't scrapped this photo of us as it is one of my favourites from the trip. After he proposed we went ring shopping but he wouldn't give it to me until the right time. This happened to be a cute bistro come wine cellar in Bergamo, Italy.

I really seem to have found my style recently and it involves lots of layers! Whether it be die cuts, patterned papers or stickers I just can't get enough.

This was the last full piece of paper I had from the Maggie Holmes 'confetti' collection I had left and I love it. I've gone mad for layering all the die cuts. My journal, long is hidden on the tag inside the pocket as it's quite a personal page. I absolutely love all the colours in this collection.

Why is it that your mojo hits when you really should be doing something else?! Note to self - do your essay!

~ Dream Big ~

So this morning I went to the post office to collect the July Like For Ever called 'Dream Big'. It is full of lovely Pinkfresh 'Happy Things' collection papers. This is definitely a collection I wouldn't normally buy as I'm usually more in to florals than geometric designs. The quality of the paper is fantastic.

I used Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist 'Teal' on the background then layered with patterned paper and acetate patterned triangles. I'm really pleased with the outcome of this layout. The photo is one from when I went to the House of Lords for my official Girlguiding UK Queens Guide Award celebration.

I've had a productive afternoon and made another layout which I will share later in the week. I'm just sat watching TV after cooking dinner for my parents.

Happy Crafting!

~ Dining Out Tunisian Style ~

Good Morning!
I'm off to Body Combat shortly so thought I would just check in with one of my favourite layouts that I have created recently. Again this is using the Maggie Holmes Confetti collction of papers and a few random embellishments from my stash.

This layout shows a local restaurant we went to when we visited Tunisia last year. This roadside restaurant is called 'Cafe Kandil' and has been there for at least 12 years since my parents started going to Hammamet. It's basic, cheap and they do fantastic BBQ meats. Very little English is spoken so it is a case of pointing to the meat you want from the fridge. My fiancee had never been to Tunisia before but like me he enjoys experiencing countries how the locals do and this was the perfect restaurant to do that in.

I hope the weather stays nice for the bank holiday weekend. I think we all deserve some sun.
