More NZ and Other Stuff...

Still showing you a little more of our NZ trip...
this is our very own
Scott-Strike Monument
at Fantail Falls
as you can see they are everywhere
 on every surface
quite a peaceful place... even with all the tourists there.
 We stayed overnight in Haast...
mu gawd the have the BIGGEST midge's and the MOST expensive fish and chips
out at Jackson Bay
but the view was worth being eaten alive and ripped off
hahahaha
 Fox Glacier
chunks of ice floating by... the water was freezing.
Hubby and I didn't do the climb
but our son, his partner and her parents did...
they said it was HARD
 I made a quilt
Snuggle Bears by here Toni has the best patterns
and her book Happy Quilts is the best
Hubby made a Mud Kitchen for the grandies birthdays
He's done some refurbishing for a lady
a window frame, turned into a mirror
they look so good in her house

How Many Boxes Are There....

sssshhhh
mind you that is only a few (ho hum)
just grab one and lets see whats in there....
they even come with their own dust and spider webs
 Ok... not a bad choice
and
once counted out I only need to make 5 more
to have a useful size quilt or picnic rug...
 tada
one empty box and a quilt top
and
I've made the binding already...
Many years ago a friend died who was part of our Magnet Craft Group,
while helping her daughter sort out the house, it was discovered
she had many unfinished projects and projects that were kit (like most crafty people).
We all took one or a few and finished them for her daughters.
The girls were so happy to have all thee wonderful quilt of Mum's to wrap up in...
Well I was thinking, I no long have that "group" or belong to one, so I had best
pull my finger out and get some of these done
hahahaha

Well Hello....

Yeah sorry I have been quiet on blogland but................
I have been extremely busy with family, babies, our block and a weeny bit of sewing!
firstly I need to do a little bit of tidying in my sewing room...
my poor teapot display need a good dusting
then my shelves needed a good sorting out and things being put back in their right places and order... the other shelf of books was done too.
our block down the back behind the house is just covered in leaves and the ''fire chief" who has a block behind us says ''the last owners never did any tidying or clearing up of the leaves/fallen branches/rubbish so our mission is to make a start... there are quite a few small straggly trees that aren't growing so they will come out and be dried for fire wood and there are a few fallen bigger branches that are going to be chainsawed for firewood this year...
about 41 piles raked and 4000 to go hahaha
I had this little fella and his Mum come stay for 10+ days while his Dad was away working on the oil rig... Mum's pregnancy is not a good one and she needs to rest, not pick up the little fella, no walking the dog, no hanging washing, changing the beds...
so its compulsory ''nudie rudie" walks with Chuck and Yaya, the dogs,
filling the trough up "nudie rudie"
swimming ''nudie rudie"
and
just plain having fun while "nudie rudie"
a lot of this through out the house
(wouldn't have it any other way)
we also had a visit from Little Man Judd
being a koala with his Aunty
a little bit of sewing amongst it all...
a small cushion for the Juddanaught... I used Michelle's ''baby alphabet" stitchery patterns.
 and some burping cloths
plus I have been reading your blogs just not commenting...
still keeping an eye on you all

Burning The Midnight Oil...

Yep Hubby is back working away so I am having late nights again...
I don't sleep well when he is away so I sew and stay up...
less night time that I have to deal with, I am generally up at 5.30
and no nana nap ... have never been able to sleep during the day...
more ''scrappy around the world stripping
some tubing out (as the plumber would say)
then loads of cutting and unpicking to produce
17 more blocks... still not sure if I will make a couple of lap quilts or a bigger one!!!
every afternoon I throw the ball for the dogs...
but
Baz is the ball dog
Jax is a stick dog or leaf dog or larger stick dog or dead branch dog
the lawn and back door are generally his collecting point drop off... most days there is a collection to pick up and bin...
some of my rose bushes have an abundance of flowers at the moment
and I have picked some for around the house
some of them have a glorious smell
 and others not so much
 they look so pretty
