Now to this week's knitting!
Well, that doesn't look like the cowl, does it? You guessed it. I started something new instead of doing the button band for it. You can just call me a coward now and get it over with. Instead, I started the pleated skirt I've been dying to make! It's knit in short rows, all garter stitch. This is my first time trying to do the wrap around & knit thing to not cause holes. Actually, who am I kidding, this is the first time I've done short rows that weren't socks. With a little help from my Monday night knitting group (I just love them!!!), I think I understand, but we'll see. Thanks Teri! Oh yes, and you probably want to know the yarn, right? I'm doing it in Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in Thunderhead. It's soooo pretty! Get used to looking at this project, because it is going to take awhile!
Next up is this really close up picture of the monster I'm knitting. I don't want to show more of it than this because it's for a monster swap I'm doing and JUST in case she checks out the blog, I don't want to ruin too much of the surprise. He's going pretty good, and I'm happy so far! :)
Well, that's it for me this week. What are you working on?
Please remember to use the new link to your post from this week, overriding the one that Mr. Linky saves from the previous. I've had quite a few links still linking to their old posts, or links that go straight to their blog's URL instead of the actual posts URL. Thanks!
For those that are new to WIPW, to share your WIPW post with us, just fill out the Mr. Linky below. Despite it saying you must comment, don't feel as if you do. That is something Mr. Linky automatically adds. I just ask you to check out a few of the links posted to see what everyone else is working on and comment there if you can. Everyone loves feedback and a little encouragement on their projects! Also, please link back to this post in your post to get the word out! The more the merrier!
All your new yarn is beautiful. That skirt sounds like a fun project, you'll get the hang of the wrap and turns!
ReplyDeleteI think I could actually cry over that rainbow yarn! I want it so bad! Once you have completed your swap you NEED to let me know what it is! Looking fab already!

ReplyDeleteInterested to see the skirt. Love the yarn for the monster, can't wait to see that!!
ReplyDeleteExactly what Lee/Another said - I am almost licking the screen as I love that rainbow yarn so much!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the wonderful number of people participating, it's a lot to get through them all in one go (especially if there are captcha things on the blogs as that can really slow it down - especially on a mobile device) and I don't think you can be expected to write a long reply to all of the posts all the time - it's great that you take the time to co-ordinate this twice a week and it's not feasible to always do it. I'm sure everyone will understand that :)
Have a great week xxxx
Good luck with your skirt! Can't wait to see how it progresses!
ReplyDeleteOh no worries on the blog thing - I try to get to them all every week too but I know I fail miserably week after week *laughs*
ReplyDeleteI think your projects are looking fantastic - I really like that rainbow colored yarn... it looks NICE! I can't wait to see the whole picture of whatever that is when you are finished and its all swapped.
Sadly, no WIPW for me today - I have plenty of WIP just not time to WIPW :( Perhaps next week :)
I've been following Delusional Knitter's posts and really like the structure of WIP Wednesdays and FO Fridays. Can I join? I put my link information in the Mister Linky's Magical Widgets thingy.

ReplyDeleteLove your monster. That yarn looks like it is very soft.
Do you have 2 candy skein blogs? The one I get to from your dashboard is blank? Might be a tech/computer issue? Thought I'd mention it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so into color, I can't wait to see the monster!
ReplyDeleteSandy, thanks. Actually, I just have it so that I have the name if I ever want to have a Candy Skein blog. I don't use it at this time. I don't have a actual Candy Skein blog, just the website (www.candyskein.com) and this blog here.
