Connie-Stone Wall Witch by Elaine Cox
For today's art I did a card using an image by Elaine Cox titled "Stone Wall Witch"
Although I kind of turned her into a fairy....
I colored the image with Copic markers, then drew a line around the image
so the hat would stick out. Then I cut it out and edged with black ink.
I stippled color around for the background and added white here and there.
I layered this onto some pretty copper metallic paper and then onto some lovely embossed designer paper by DWV and layered that onto more copper.
I cut a floral border with a new punch by EK Success and added
pearls, with another pearl for her earring.
The dp paper is scrumptious and has embossing on various images already
done.

Two Lil' Halloween Cards
Hello! I thought I would bring you a couple of last minute Halloween themed cards today! For the first card I used Samantha Rawlings sweet Lil' Witch. I made a frame around her using four fancy corners cut with a Sizzix die and I tried to "connect" them on the long sides using tiny black gems. It is a little more crooked than I had hoped....but I still like the original idea!
The Details:
Stamp: Samantha Rawlings Lil' Witch - (sheet 2, Plate 62) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: K&Co (I think), Black and White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Skin: E000, E00,E11,R00,R20
hair: YG21,YG23,YG25,YG17
Clothes:V04,V06,V17,C5,C7,C9
Pumpklin and Car: Y15,Y17,YR16,YR18
Misc: Sizzix Corner die, Spellbinders Label Die, Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, Darice Gems
For my second card I used Elaine Cox's Little Witch Cat. I colored the image with Copics and added a little Diamond Stickles around the moon and a little Crystal Effects to the kitty's eyes. I am not sure I really love how that turned out, but it is good to try something new sometimes, right?

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Little Witch Cat (Sheet 9, Plate 59) - Sweet Pea Stamps
Paper: Bo Bunny, Black and White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics:
Cat: W5,W7,W8,W10
Hat: V04,V06,V17,Y06
Background: BG32,BG34,BG16 all w/W1 over, YG03,YG25,YG17,Y000,Y00

Happy Halloween!

Two Sweet Witches
Hello! It is getting close to Halloween and that definitely has me in the mood to make cards with cute little witches and adorable kitties!! These two are both by Elaine Cox.
This first one is called Little Stars Witch and is from Plate #59. I colored the whole image with Copics and then I went over the moon and the sky with Twinkling H2O watercolors. I used a Cuttlebug die (cut out twice and cut in half) for the photo corners and an EK Success edge punch to cut the black piece that separates the two panels.
The Details:

Misc: Cuttlebug Die, EK Success Edge Punch, Half Pearls (?), Twinkling H2O Watercolors
This image is called Playing With Stars and is from Plate #46. Again, I colored the image with Copic markers and then went over the background with Twinkling H2O watercolors. I used Diamond Stickles for some sparkle on the stars, the Kitty wings and the photo corners.

Owl's It Going????
Today I am wondering Owl's It Going with you? This little guy/girl is ©Elaine Cox's Little Owl Witch and can be found at Sweet Pea Stamps. It can be bought as a single stamp or with 3 other darlings.
I colored my little witch with copics but accidentally stamped her on the wrong side of my card stock so it was the glossy side. I thought I would give it a shot and see what happens (note to self)DO NOT DO IT AGAIN!!!! I found I had a hard time with blending and as you can see in the pictures their are high and low spots in the coloring!!!! This creates a sheen and almost a sticky feel to the image. Live and learn I say! I put Glossy Accents on the moon behind and added some googley eyes for whimsy!!!! I used black, white and grey chalks for my background and opal liquid pearls for the stars. Vintage Photo distress ink was used to age the edges of all my papers. The sentiment was generated on my computer. A friend of mine had just laced a card of hers with string so I CASED that and did the same with some fibers I had forever and strung a few beads on them. Even with the shiny card stock I think it turned out pretty cute, what do you think?

Scaredy Cat and Stone Wall Witch .....
Today I am showcasing an artist that I have for the first time shown on my blog. This little lovely is ©Elaine Cox's Little Stars Witch and can be purchased at Sweet Pea Stamps. I had a wonderful time coloring her and hope you like her too. She is sold as a single stamp or on a sheet with three other stamps and the sentiment that I used with her!
I colored her with my copics and then cut her out to be able to pop her up on foam tape to give dimension. Glossy accents have been added to her eyes, lips and broomsticks. I cut the scalloped background out with a Spellbinder Nestie on my Cuttlebug. I thought the DP matched my coloring of the moon. What do you think? I never pick my DP out ahead of time. I guess maybe I should but I want to be free when I color. I chose the purple polka dot DP to coordinate with the dots that I put on their hats with my Opal Liquid Pearls. Stickles were also added to the stars on their hats. I stamped the sentiment directly onto my DP and then colored it in. Last but not least I added a swirl of orange pearls and an Copic colored ribbon to match!
This magnificent creature is from The Elaine Cox Art Collection and is called Stone Wall Witch.
I colored her with copics and then sprinkled stickles here and there. Glossy accents on the moon. I added her white stars and highlights in her hair with Opal Liquid Pearls. She is placed onto a classic frame from Spellbinders. Sizzix scrolls in the corners, a bow and a few gemstones finished the look. I think she is quite bewitching!

Connie - Sweet Pea Trick-Or-Treatin' Owl
This cute image by Elaine Cox began as a cute little tree sittin' owl, but about the time I began coloring his ears sticking out from his hat he started to morph into this little Trick or Treater who was sitting out a few blocks in order to rest up from the rigors of Halloween.
This image is from plate #59 by Elaine Cox and you can see the rest of her images from this plate by clicking below:

I colored him with Copic markers and sponged dye inks for the background. I added some glitz with a Gellyroll pen "Stardust" on the large star & painted the smaller stars white with a tiny brush and Copic white paint.
I measured a panel of yellow paper and edged with a Martha Stewart edger "Drippy Goo" to make a sort of custom frame. I added a small bag sticker on his foot made by Jolee's Boutique "Sleepy Inn".
I thought about adding more, but then thought better of it. In this case I think less is more?
Thanks for looking!
Connie
