Little Black Unicorn ...

I made this for my Sweet Darlin' Kerry's 7th Birthday.  She likes unicorns and pony's so I thought she would like this one. I used one of the stamps from Elaine Cox's Art Collection called "Little Black Unicorn". I think she is just adorable.  Her face is so very sweet and innocent!  Perfect for a young girls card! You can get her as a single stamp or with three others and a sentiment at Sweet Pea Stamps.

I decided that this little lovely deserved a gate fold card!
My stamp was colored in with copics and then stickles were added to give it sparkle. Now that wasn't enough so I added some tiny little gems to give it some more!!!! He wings, the star and the sun were also frosted with a healthy dose of glitter. After all what little girl doesn't like glitter?????  I matted her with a punched mat and then a sentiment from Sweet Pea.  The final elements were the bright pink bow and the tri colored flower with a big brad that I have had in my stash forever!!

Pretty Little Unicorn

I had the best time coloring this image! It's just so cute and girly! I loved adding the sparkles. I like the background she has too, but for the challenges I wanted to enter I needed it to be mainly black, white and pink. I'll use it again and do a cool background with it.
I was always intimidated by black hair coloring...but the W's in Copics make it a breeze! Thanks for letting me share it with you~

Little Black Unicorn in White

Hi! I have to say I really love Elaine Cox's images and this one, called Little Black Unicorn had me giddy with excitement when it was previewed to the DT a while back. Then it arrived when I was getting ready to go on vacation and I wasn't able to use it right away like I wanted. I am so glad I finally got to play with it! I colored it with my Copics and added some glitter in the form of Stickles to the Unicorn body and the outside edges of the picture (after I inked them up!). The ribbon was a white silk ribbon that I colored to match using my Copics.

The Details:
Stamp: Elaine Cox's Little Black Unicorn (sheet 8, Plate 55) - Sweet Pea Stamps

Make a Wish

Hi everyone :) For my card today, I just had to ink up this gorgeous image illustrated by Elaine Cox and available at Sweet Pea Stamps. This particular image is called Little Black Unicorn and I think this is one of my absolute favorite images. I colored the image with copics and then shaded around the top of the image with SU's Rose Red ink. I added Stardust Stickles to the unicorn's horn and to the fairy's wings. Next I created my card base out of SU cardstock (Always Artichoke and Rose Red). My DP is from MME. For some finishing touches, I added a bow (tied with my Bow Easy), pearls, Primas, and roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. What do you think?
Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by!

A Little Polka Dotted Unicorn

Stamp: -Elaine Cox's "Little Black Unicorn" Sheet #55

I absolutely adore this little unicorn image by Elaine Cox! So many possibilities. Reminds me of my old My Little Pony collection. I gave my little unicorn some pink polka dots.

The background is a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I used Brilliance Pearlescent Purple and Colorbox Peony ink. The strip of charcoal paper, I stamped with bleach.

Bleaching tip:

Bleach stamping is so much fun! Pour a tiny bit of bleach onto a folded napkin placed on a plate. You must use fresh bleach (after it's been sitting out in the air awhile it isn't as strong). And stamp onto the napkin, making sure you have a coat of bleach on your stamp. Then, stamp onto dark cardstock. Hold the stamp there for a few seconds. Sometimes it takes a while for the bleach to work it's magic. Also, some cardstocks work better than others (something to do with the core of the cardstock), so experiment.

Always immediately rinse your stamp off. Do not let the bleach sit on your stamp. If you are concerned about ruining your stamps, then set aside some old stamps you don't use much for "bleaching use only".

Have fun!

Little Black Unicorn

Do not adjust the color of your screen. My little black unicorn is white :).

This is one of the newer images by Elaine Cox for Sweet Pea Stamps and is part of Plate #55 and I think it is so sweet. I colored her to coordinate with the background paper. I wanted some texture so ran the circle through the cuttlebug and distressed it with some light blue chalk ink. It is rather glaring in the photo, but in reality the felt heart matches the pink in the unicorn's main and tail. I wish the picture was more accurate. Evidently I need to learn some new photography techniques for felt! The sentiment is from Plate #57.
