I love all of these three companies individually and it was so fun to create a card where all the components from the different companies are compatible with all of the other components. I was excited to work with the Nestaboard Labels 18 which perfectly coordinate with the Spellbinder's Labels 18 and used the Nestabling Labels 5 White Pearl  that coordinates perfectly with Spellbinder's Labels 5 and used the awesome new stamp sets from this month's September release from JustRite Stamps :)
I was amazed at how easy it was to cover the Chipboard - I die cut the exact matching size onto the DP that I was going to use and then adhered them together. Using that die, I traced the outside edge to create a mat for the layer and then sponged the inside of the DP (with the die still intact) to create an easy sponged/frame look - here is a picture to show how these 4 layers merged together to create the layer:

I was so excited to try out the Nestabling - whoo-hoo! You know I love liquid pearls and was so excited to use this product that perfectly allows for a layer of bling/pearls to line all the different awesome shaped dies and labels! I loved adding a row of all the little pearls with the Baby LaCreme Pearls and then used the large White Pearls in the corner from from Want2Scrap.

I love the collage image from the Greetings from Paris stamp set and used the birthday sentiment from the Shabby Chic Labels 4 stamp set. I was so excited to make this card for a very special girl who is off to college this school year! I hope that this card brightens up her day! Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #49 - The Two Towers (Lord of the Rings) and some Blog Candy!

Good Morning Everyone,

Its time for another Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - where every week we pick a movie for inspiration in creating a card, layout, altered item etc. This week's movie is the second one in the Lord of the Rings trilogy: The Two Towers. You can check out THIS LINK which will take you to blog post and projects that we created for the first movie: The Fellowship of the Ring.

I absolutely love Lord of the Rings - I have read it so many times since I just became a teenager and it always seems newer and newer. I definitely felt that they did justice to Tolkein's book in these epic movies that they have created - the details are stunning - and my favorite is to watch the extended versions and listen to the commentary - it blows my mind all the details that they show that you might never see because it appears just for a second in the movie.

This week's challenge requirement was embossing - and for my inspiration I took it from the speech of Sam towards the end of the movie. To watch the part where I got the inspiration from - you can watch it here:

I love the hope that Sam gives to Frodo at a moment where things feel so heavy and he is struggling in the darkness. I took the quote that Sam says and downloaded a Hobbit font and typed this up in Photoshop and then cut it out with my spellbinders. I was trying to follow the sketch that my awesome buddy, Tammy has up for the sketch challenge today at PCP - but kinda switched up one of the elements (not so good at following sketches exactly these days :)

Here is the quote of what Sam says at the end -"Even the Darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer." And here it is on my card:

Card Details:
Paper: DP from Taj Mahal
Stamps: none - saying is printed with a Hobbit font on Photoshop
Ink: Martha brown for smudging
Accessories: ribbon from Taylored Expressions, heart button from stash, cuttlebug swiss dots, corner chomper, spellbinders.

I kept the colors kind of muted - kind of like their cloaks that they wear - and the embossing is of three kinds: I scored a pattern into the cardstock for an embossed texture, I did some Cuttlebug embossing with my swiss dots and also used some flourished embossed paper (golden flourish) for another type of embossing. I really had fun making this card. It is super simple - but made from the heart. I added a little heart embellishment - as a symbol of Sam - who has such a pure heart - and whose love and his one pointed devotion to Frodo is beyond endearing. He is such an inspiration - My Sam :) Here is the heart button detail:

I hope you will play along this week - not only because of this awesome movie - but also because we are having some blog candy to celebrate our 49th challenge!!! Carol Dunstan and Jen Cuthbertson are our guest designers today - so make sure you stop by the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog today to see more of a chance of how you can win!!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today and visiting!!!
Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!

A Bevy of Challenge Cards - well - okay just 4 :)

Good Morning Everyone,

This week has been flying by - I can't even handle it! And speaking of "handling this" - I love the slogan from the Color Throwdown  ladies: Can You Handle this!?! I loved these soft colors that we have for this week's  color challenge- aren't these colors just so sweet! I immediately thought of a baby card ....
and so I made two - one for a boy and one for a girl - one of each just in case I need a quick card - and these were super quick cards - literally 7 minutes each - crazy! I used the sketch that PaperCraftPlanet is featuring this week.
Card Details:
Ink: Bordering Blue from SU! and I forgot what kind of pink from SU!
Accessories: booties from stash, spellbinders, cuttlebug embossing folder, corner rounder, Kaiser,  ribbon from stash

THanks ladies for the fun colors!!! The next color challenge that I did was one that my good friend Diana Gibbs created this week - she has her own color challenge! So I had to play along to support my chickie!!! Here are her fun colors for her Color Challenge #1

And here is my card for her challenge - I made this card using one of my new fave sets from Taylored Expressions: Chillax :) This is made for a good friend of mine who just started a new job and I wanted to give it to her on Friday (today :) - so that she good have a Chillaxin TGIF :)

Card Ingredients:
Ink: Old Olive from SU!
Accessories: liquid glaze, stickles, Kaiser rhinestones, circle cutter from CM, copics

Okay and one more challenge (actually two) - this is for Julee's awesome Mojo Monday sketch 101 and  I also used the Limited Supplies challenge this week over at SCS which was: chocolate paper of some sort, a butterfly, a birthday type card and it was to be a money holder as well - so here is everything:
and here is my card using the Beary Special Stamp set and sentiment from Taylored Expressions - it has a pocket for some moola in the inside (what is so sad is that when I went to take a pic of the card and was looking for some moola - all I could find was a dollar bill! okay - need to go to the bank!)

Card Details:
Paper: SEI papers
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: Spellbinders, martha punch, corner rounder, white gel pen, Medows punch from CM, ribbon from stash, stickles

I had so much fun making these cards - the colors and images were so fun to work with and more than anything - I loved having some time to create something - this week has been so hectic and I really am always amazed at how therapeutic it is to craft! (the more stress - the more cards!!! ha!)

Thanks so much for visiting my corner :) Have a go at all these challenges out there!
Big hugs to all!!!
Sankari :)

PS- Have a chillaxin friday ya'll!!!!

You're so Smooth!

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

I canNOT even begin to express the full on school busy-ness that has encompassed each day of this week - from driving back and forth from dr.s appts, filling in a ton of papers, creating checklists and then creating more checklists - and slowly crossing things off - to finally today seeing the little wee ones head off to school - wow! what a week - and its only wednesday!!!

Here is a pic of my two wee ones heading off to school - can't believe my little DD is old enough - how did that happen - feels like she was just learning to crawl the other day! Last night we got them to bed early to get them ready for the big day today so I had a few minutes to scrap - and was so excited - I made two cards with the same materials. One of my fave images from the Chillax set that Taylor's just released is this cute cute blender and smoothie cup! I LOVE how fun the image is and the sentiment" You're so smooth" cracks me up :)

I used Taylor's most recent TECC sketch #79 for this card:

Here is the SCS sketch 243 for this week - and I used what I had lying around from the card above to create the same kind of card but with this week's sketch:

I loved how easy it was to create these cards - I tried to keep everything simple and quick - Here is a picture of both the cards together:

Card Details:
Paper: K&Co Martha Stewart and stash
Ink: Taken with Teal SU!
Accessories: Accordian ribbon from Taylored Expressions, spellbinders, bling Kaiser craft, circle cutters from CM, copics, liquid glaze, corner rounder

I can't wait to make some more - but for right now - my laundry is calling - right now is the time that I SO wish I could wiggle my nose like Genie and all the chores would get done!

I hope you have some time to Chillax today!!!
Thank you so much for visiting my little blog!
Big hugs to all!
Sankari :)

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #44 - The Thief Lord

Good Morning Everyone,

And Welcome to another Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, where we pick a movie and create a card based from it. This week's movie is the 2006 release called the Thief Lord which is based on a German book. I hadn't seen or heard of this movie before and watched it last night. It was very sweet and the touching part of the whole movie to me was the relationship of the two brothers.

So since this movie is so much about brotherly love and affection and the bonds of friendship etc. - the Challenge Requirement for this week is to make a card for a brother or sister - or - if you don't want to do that or don't have a sibling (like me) to make a card for - you can make a friendship card.

Here is my card and I used my fellow Paper Craft Planet DT member Tammy Hersberger's awesome sketch for this week's PCP Saturday sketch challenge. If you have a chance hop on over to Tammy's blog and give her some love - she is one of the sweetest, nicest people I know!

You can check out the rest of the gallery for the sketch challenge here!

Card Details:
Paper: Basic Grey and Bazzil
Ink: Printer
Accessories: eyelet, dew drops, ribbon from stash, spellbinder's die cut.

I had fun making my card - and then I thought its too simple - I should start over again and do something else - but as that point was a few hours ago this morning - I am just going ahead with this card.

I hope you play along - its very very simple! Just a card for a sibling or a friend based on this movie!!! And you could be our next guest designer - just by playing along with this challenge!!! So cmon' and play - you can check out more details at the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge blog!

Thanks so much for popping on over here!!
Big hugs to all!!!
Lots of sunny smiles!
Sankari :)

KW Color Inspriation #54 - Miracles

Good Evening Everyone,

As soon as I saw Kristina's challenge for her Color Inspiration Challenge #55 this week - I had to play - I literally dropped the piles of laundry and went right to my craft corner - (and really it wasn't that hard to drop a pile of laundry :)

These colors are so uber fabulous and I adore those shoes!! I love it! The inspiration for these colors come from Kristina's bosses skirt and her bosses shoes - (lovin' those shoes!)

These colors reminded me of the Ambrosia papers from Basic Grey - so I pulled it out and made a quick card because I have still a ton of cleaning to do before we have a houseful of visitors tomorrow (literally 19 minutes - ) and snapped a quick pic - sorry about the quality of this picture - still trying to figure out nighttime photography (will take a better pic in the morning). I love the way that Jenn did the ribbons in this lovely card of hers - and totally wanted to try it! Thanks so much for the inspiration Jen :)

Card Details:
Paper: Basic Grey Ambrosia papers
Ink: Really Rust from SU!, Martha Stewart Grey
Stamps: Faith and Hope from Taylored Expressions
Accessories: Spellbinders, Kaiser pearls, Casa Collection ribbon, Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, tacky tape

I am sorry that everything is so quick - I would love to play with these colors more if I have a chance. We are going to be having a lot of visitors coming in this weekend for the next two weeks - so I off I go back to those piles of laundry that I keep trying to ignore :) lol!

Thanks so much for visiting my little corner!!
Many hugs to all!!
Sankari :)

April Key Ingredient's Release - Taylored Expressions

Good Morning Everyone,

Is there a paper lover that is reading this? Well, today I am psyched to show you some of the awesome new paper and other fun elements from the April Key Ingredient's Kit from Taylored Expressions. Taylor has been putting together some awesome Key Ingredients kits (seriously - she has such an amazing eye to coordinate it all!) that include designer paper, coordinating cardstock, matching ribbon and then some fun accessories like: brads, rhintestones, glitter, etc. that allow you to make 16 cards from just one packet of the Key Ingredients kit. Last month Taylor introduced her Key Ingredient's subscription program on a 3 month or 6 month basis - where you will receive a Key Ingredient's package in the mail by the 20th of each month. I totally have been loving all of the kits that Taylor puts together - its just all so well coordinated and makes putting a card together pretty simple and fast :)

Today, half of the Baker's Dozen girls on Taylor's design team will be showing you some of the ingredients in this month's April Key Ingredient's kit. I absolutely love the papers in this kit and the coordinating cardstock is perfect. Here is a fun project that I made using this kit:

Paper Plate Wreath:
I made this little wreath and card for a friend of mine for Mother's Day. This is made using a small paper plate (like a dessert plate - I used the Chinet variety for more strength). I wrapped the plate with some plain ribbon that I had lying around so that when I adhered the flowers it wouldn't be against a plain paper plate.

I drew a 5 petaled flower of three different sizes and cut them out from the various papers and then adhered it in different combinations and arranged around the plate.

This kit comes with the delicious glitter called blue rapture: it is just yummy - I used it on the buttons, the butterfly and on the flower - it give it just an extra umph of sparkle :) I also love this ribbon of pink flowers that I put the butterfly on. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from the Fresh Flowers stamp set and fits perfectly onto a 1 1/4" circle punch to be on the inside of a flower.

I wanted to make a coordinating card for my friend - and so I made a quick coordinating card that I wanted to tie in the flowered theme of the wreath and so I made a flower card using the new Blossom Spellbinders nestabilities set (check out all the new Spellbinders that Taylor has in her store!) I had so much fun making this card - it was super quick and fun to make and embellish with the glitter and the sweet little flower bling embellishment. I love this DP from the April Key Ingredient's set - its so much fun and colorful.
Check out the awesome projects from the rest of the ladies from the Baker's Dozen who have also made some awesomely fabulous creations using the the April Key Ingredient's kit!

And can't wait to see your creations with this with this fun kit!
Hope you are all having a fabulous start to your week!

Thank you so much for visiting my little corner :)
Ciao for now,
Sankari :)
