拔豆芽

喜歡拔豆芽, 因為可以覺得自己在善用時間,但又不用動腦筋。

How awesome is it to have professors who send you emails like this?
"Hola.
Make sure to visit the Grade Centre to ensure your standings with your grade is current.
Cheers.

想家

Chinese new year always makes me miss home so much because it's the time when family and relatives all gather together. This is the 4th year that I'm missing out cny. 看见每个人都balik kampung 让我也想回家过年。
On a brighter note, I got to learn something new today. In oratorio choir practice, we have to sing Bach's cantata no. 80 in German so I tried pronouncing words in German (of course it's far from perfect pronounciation, but it's fun trying).

Sun-day

It's sunny outside.
After church this morning, I'm now studying in my room. The sun is just so beautiful and so bright and it makes me think of this verse from Romans 13:12 "The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light."

Lately, I've been wanting to go to Japan a lot...(i know this doesn't really have anything to do with the photo, but that's what I'm thinking lately...). ^^

The things that matter...

Here are a few questions Jenny shared in our devotion time at Women's Choir yesterday that really reminded me of what really matter in life.
1. When you look at your life 20 years from now, what are the things that you do now that will no longer matter?
2. 20 years from now, what are the things that will STILL matter?
3. What are things that will matter for eternity?

Since final exams are approaching and the semester is coming to an end, life gets busier and I start seeing my life only in terms of all the thing that i need to accomplish this week etc. It's good to examine my life and remember what are the important things.

Dreamy Wednesday

It's been a weird Wednesday for me. It seems like my head has been floating in the cloud the whole day...I'm just in this really slow, dreamy mode the whole day. On one hand it's been nice cos I'm somewhat relaxed, but I'm also very lazy in getting my homework done because of this.

Oh, I am listening to Bing Crosby's Christmas songs and loving them.. <3

Good day

I woke up at 5.40am this morning and I was so dizzy I barely made it down the bed without tripping. My first thought was, "no.... why do I have to go to work?" but since I had to go, I prayed to God to give me strength somehow to go through today. I did a short devotion and went to work the breakfast shift. I read Psalms 61-63 and these are some of the verses that stood out to me:
"Lead me to the rock that is higher than I"
"For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken."
"Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us."
"for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me."
My dizziness was gone soon enough and I didn't even feel tired today. I'm not saying that my day has been perfect, but I'm able to do what I need to do and have joy doing them because I know that I am in the shadow of God's wings. I am in His care.
Be encouraged. You can live an ordinary day to the fullest and have joy in going through your everyday routine because God really is in control.

Ordinary day

Invest your life in eternity, not in the temporary. This is something that I have to remind myself daily.

PTL-June 25

I am studying for my exam tomorrow. PTL for such a great class and tomorrow is the last day of summer class!

PTL for fresh homemade apple juice!

PTL-June 23

Although I often feel like I need more time, PTL that He gives me 24 hours every day instead of 23 or 22 hours.

PTL for family!

I couldn't get a summer job but I have time to read and learn more things. PTL!

PTL for dreams!

I am far less than perfect but I will be glorified one day and be in God's presence. PTL!

PTL!!!

Christians are (admittedly imperfectly) thankful and content despite the circumstances God has given them because of the grace and love God has given them in Christ and the body of Christ. Make it a goal to praise the Lord for things – PTL!
“I just got a parking ticket, but I still have a job so I can pay it off. PTL!”
“I went to the vending machine and pressed the Sprite button but it gave me Coke. I don’t like Coke, but my sister does so I’ll just give it to her, plus I shouldn’t be drinking soda anyway. PTL!”
“Sometimes my life gets really hard, but I have a Savior who died for this life, so that I can have life beyond this life...and that's something worth living for. PTL!”
Let the PTL movement begin...
*The first part of this post is an excerpt I copied from this blog which I found randomly.
In case you don't know yet, PTL means Praise the Lord. I think it's something that we should do as Christians, so I'm helping to spread the PTL movement.
Here's one thing that I want to PTL for today: I have two more days of classes in Christianity and Western Culture and one more paper to write. PTL!
Write about things that you want to PTL for once in a while in your blog posts. When you want to procrastinate by blogging but still want to do something worthwhile, share things in your life that you can PTL for. =)

let the weak say I am strong

I was practising piano just now and I was really tired so before I left the practice room I just opened up my hymnal to "It is well with my soul" thinking that I want to sing that song (we sang that song in our WCC concerts) but before I was able to use a book to hold the page down, the page flipped to "Give thanks" on its own.
God knew I needed that.
He reminded me that I have to GIVE THANKS AT ALL TIMES
It doesn't matter that I have a lot of work to do and I'm tired, it does not change the fact that I can be thankful to Him because He has given me Christ.
this is Don Moen singing give thanks
