On the second day of the trip, we woke up early at 5.30am to catch the sunrise. The weather reminded me of a particular morning on a choir spring tour in New England. It was such a pleasant feeling waking up to the cool temperature and being on a mountain.
After walking around the Friday tamu (kind of like farmer's market), we went to the Kundasang War Memorial, which commemorates soldiers who fought in the Second World War.

flowers and butterfly at the garden. |
After that, we visited J. S. Nursery and saw pretty flowers, cacti, and plants.
Then, we drove further up the mountains to places like Kampung Mesilou (village),
the Desa Cow Farm, and Mesilou Park. The temperature there is much
cooler so it felt like spring/fall.

Some scenery along the way. We stopped by a small waterfall for our lunch stop. |

I have many more pictures from the day but here are just some taken with my handy point and shoot to make it more manageable. :)
