Penny Black Sweet Talk. April Spring or Easter Challenge

April Challenge

Spring or Easter

I am a little late with my Penny Black creation today...I can't believe I did not even know it was April 1st today! I have lost all track of time...

For my card today I pulled out an oldie but goodie stamp named Sweet Talk (1442J) --a sweet Penny Black vintage stamp. I have colored it with copics and added it to a lovely lattice backdrop designed by My Scrap Chick. The file is named Lattice and Doily Square Card and and comes with a  center square or center circle version. I actually made one with both backdrops versions but due to short term memory lapse, I forgot to take a dang picture of the other one. I did add a Lawn Fawn stitched square to the lattice doily as well as a little LF grass too. I added a very much loved SU! Easter greeting.

You can also find a smaller version of this stamp in the clear set Garden Friends

Welcome to House Mouse and Friends

Monday Challenge #190

Challenge #190 hosted by America - *CASE THIS CARD* -

March 16th through the 28th

Glitter Text Generator

CASE means; (Copy and Share Exactly), although we are really only looking for creations keeping the fun layout and main idea of using partial images.  This can be done in any theme.

This design for the case card reminds me of a tic tac toe board...just the right number of circles  anyway! So....I chose to cut a tic tac toe card with my Silhouette and added in these little spring flowered meece!!!  I used the stamp Spring Blossoms, coloring and cutting out the flowered images. The sentiment is from an older Stampin' Up Set.

Creations by AR July Blog Hop

Welcome to Creations by AR July Blog Hop!

This blog hop will feature the two new July release files-

and

This first creation I made as a gifty to give to my crafty friend Linda. She came to visit during cherry harvest, but since I have to work every day, she bonded with my Silhouette machine instead. I am sure it won't be long before she is whipping up creations like these on her own machine!

The top picture shows off the Folder Organizer all filled up with sets of Christmas cards and in the bottom picture I  took one of the folders out so that you can see what each folder looks like!
Each folder easily holds four A2 card sets-envelopes and all! Adela filled her folders up with embossing folders...I am going to make this file for my embossing folders too-what a cool idea!

Here you can see the banner file that is included in the Folder Organizer template. It was  jiffy to enlarge and use as a card topper. I stamped my friend's last name on the banner to personalize it a wee bit. I can tell you from experience that Adela's files are the easiest templates to use-especially if you tend to be a little techie challenged (not admittin' nothin' here). All of her files include a pictoral step-by-step pdf on how to put the file together, along with measurements if you need to size each piece! I so love that feature!

I made two sets-of course each with a cherry theme-the perfect gift for co-workers during harvest. (yes, I parted with some of my beloved cherry paper)  I made two cards (size approximately 3 x3) with envelopes to put inside the bags. This template includes the envelope file as well! This bag takes about 5 minutes to make-if that! These would be perfect to make in quantity if you wanted to use it for party favors!  I used the Stackables file to stamp my sentiment on...gotta love those-you can make them any size-just right to fit any stamp!

I hope you can take a few minutes to hop along with us today. Although I am the last in line, you really should start with Adela's blog!:

ONE random winner will win their choice of one of the new templates-all you have to do is leave a comment here. (or for more chances, stop by all the blogs and leave a comment)

WOYW?W 149- a Stampin Up night

Another What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!  Hello everyone! I did not make it around last week, but I promise to be better this week!  Julia's Stamping Ground this week is full of sticky stuff so be sure to stop by and see what she is up to, along with about 200 others!
I see this is my 89th WOYWW post out of 149! Yes, I must admit I am addicted to this crafty family of Julia's! Such a great bunch of crafters!

A Reminder...some days are simply meant for playing!

(That is the saying framed  on this desk)

Having just returned from Arizona, I have not had a chance to be crafty yet, so my main desk looks exactly the same as last week. I thought I would show you the top of a little desk off to the right side of me. This desk used to be my cutting station, but I moved the cutter right directly behind me and set up my computer in it's place( I hardly ever use this computer, but it is there in case I need it).....and.... I like to display my cards that people send me, so you will always see my work areas full of other's creations! They remind me why I love to stamp so much!

I love old glassware, so you see one of my fave little green depression dishes with some salt shakers on it. I always intended to fill them with glitter but I just never finished that project I guess! LOL.  I am verrrrry  dangerous with glitter, so rethinking the original plan. LOL

Last night was our monthly Stampin Up group meeting. Here are some projects designed by our leader Charla and the hostess girls for the night Nancy and Virginia. Fun creations huh?  A birthday card, a recipe holder and a little sticky note holder.  Always a fun night of creating and visiting! Sorry, too tired to look up the stamp set names tonight.

Welcome to all my new followers too! Tickled to have you follow my little blog!

Well, off to bed! Thanks for stopping by!

Creations by AR winners

Good Saturday morning to you!  A short post  today to announce the winners of the templates from the Creations by AR blog hop.  What a fun hop we had! Thanks to all of you for stopping by to say Hello!

Today I am going to show you the "ES" In The Bag template I whipped up last night.  I had this gorgeous paper from the SU! Celebration catalogue (thanks Charla!!!)  that made up so easily. It took all of about 10 minutes, and part of that was picking the paper LOL! Very simple to construct.

To make the tag, I simply cut out one of the medallion pieces from the DP, cut it in half and added it to a piece of vanilla cardstock about the same width. Added another little rose on dimesionals on each end and layered on the poppy side of the DP.

This purse is pretty big and would hold a good sized giftie.  It is about 8 inches tall and 8 inches wide. (of course you can resize it any size you want as well) Teamie Lisa made it very  small to hold a gift card.

Okay Okay.....

The winners are:

A quick Stampin Up Valentine! and another CASE too

I made this card for the monthly Stampin Up group I belong to-my turn to be the hostess and bring a project. It is a CASE of the sweet card HERE.  I used the sizzix envelope die, 3 heart punch, red ribbon and a SU sentiment from a past hostess set. Very fun!!!

I made this cute little explosion  triangle box too. I found it on this blog HERE! I made the 6 x 6 size with pretty DP cardstock and some real red SU cardstock. I used the cute little Penny Black kitty that I used a while back. Just happened to have an extra image colored up and it fit perfectly! It fits a couple candy hearts or a couple Hershey's kisses. This is a quick and fun project you could make up with any theme! (sorry for the blurry pic)

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day!!!

What's On Your Workdesk ? Wednesday #121-Stampin Up Monday Night Class

Hi There! Here I am to show you what my desk looks like tonight! Can you figure out what is missing this week?  I guess if you are a regular...it is pretty obvious---I took my copic display case and pens downstairs for a few days to color so maybe I would actually color more! Sometimes I get in my crafty cave and forget what else is going on around the house!

This week you can see some projects waiting for my attention.  A 7 gypsies printers tray (a wedding present project), A big stack of Stampin Up papers, envelopes, ribbon for upcoming wedding thank you cards, a fun little Halloween project that I made at my Monday Stampin Up group.  Oh and you might notice a CD of Josh Groban too. He is such a cutie...I just went to his concert in Portland a couple weeks ago...He is so talented and very quick witted as well. Besides enjoying the outstanding concert, I laughed a lot! He is funny! (okay---enough about Josh).

You also can see my project sheet right in the middle of my desk. I use these for listing stamps and products for my creations. I tend to forget, so this little reminder sheet is very helpful.

I made this little treat holder  at my  monthly Stampin Up group that  I have belonged to since I started stamping! I think our group formed over 10 years ago-and still going strong!  This little treat holder actually displays a little smell good bottle of hand sanitizer in this version. You could easily substitute candy.  My demo/childhood friend/stamp enabler Charla brought this project to our meeting. You can see a tutorial HERE-this is where she found the instructions. Very quick and easy!

All products used are Stampin Up except the little bottle of Bath and Bodyworks hand sanitizer.

Hope you can take a few minutes and visit Julia at The Stamping Ground to see what is going on over the ocean!

Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I made for the special Mothers in my life.

I started with taping the pretty Graphic 45 DP to a piece of very vanilla cardstock. I used Labels 1 and cut out the first panel and stamped the SU! sentiment. Added a little very vanilla ribbon and then added it to another layer of cherry cobbler and then to the main base of very vanilla. I brushed it up with more mustard ink to give it a little "antiquey-ish" look.

Here's hoping you all have the best of weekends! I am off to take my Mama to the big city for a fun day of shopping and hopefully visiting with both my daughters and my little grandbabies too. We might just get to go to IKEA as well! A fun day ahead!

Thanks for stopping by to visit!

A quick little Easter Carrot!

We made this little carrot at our monthly SU! meeting. So cute and so easy! Although this little treat holder was made with a SU! die that includes the little banner as well, I was wondering if I coulld make the same thing  using nesties.

Here's my version:

Use the largest heart nestie and a scalloped circle to fit the top, cut off one part of the heart like this.

I would run these through a cuttlebug folder to emboss at this point, but didn't for these pics.

Glue in the green scallop. You could cut it in half if you want. That is what we did with the SU! one. I added a little red glue  tape along the edge to hole it shut.

Here it is all taped together. Add some cute little embellies and it would be very similar to the SU! creation, although it is quite a bit smaller than the SU! carrot...As you can see, this same little bunny has a tight squeeze to fit in LOL! You could add little messages in this size for a fun little carrot envelope...or whatever!

Stampin Up Monday night meeting March 2011

Once a year, I get to be the hostess of our Stampin Up monthly group meeting.  I brought two projects to share . Because we have anywhere from 10-20 stampers attend, the samples need to be fairly simple with not too much fussiness. That's a lot of cuttin'!!!! I had a pack of the Love Letter designer paper (page 173) that I just LOVE and wanted to share with the group.  This card uses that DP along with black and vanilla cardstock and some black satin ribbon (page 191). I used the sentiment" Friend" from the set With All My Heart. (page 47)

I aslo used the fun set named Eat Chocolate. (Occasions Mini page 30) Now the DP I used on this card is really something like Rose Red but it just looks red here. It really does match with the pretty pink of the candies. I used the scallop trim border punch (page 200) and 3/8 inch brown taffeta ribbon (page 191)--oooh love that stuff! I also used the Decorative Label Punch from the Occasions Mini (page 30) to punch out the image. I colored the image with markers and punched it out. The panel is on pop dots as well as each candy.

Thankfully I had a few left over so I can make card packets for my Bunco group this week...Prizes taken care of! Whew!

WOYWW #90

For some reason I can not make a fancy schmancy card without adding a silly sentiment....Happy Birthday Charla!

Card details:

Stamps: Studio G?
Cardstock: Love Letters DP and Very Vanilla and Black all  from SU
Ink: Versafine black
Misc:; pearls, black satin ribbon from SU!, misc sizzlet flowers, SU! glitter brad.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? Check out mine below.

Here's my desk this week, I did not even dare show it last week...I think there must have been about a foot of paper on it! I have done a little housekeeping since then so maybe you can see a few of my future projects...some fun Bugaboo digi's printed up, some more of the lovely SU! Love Letter DP and maybe a Mo's image in my inspiration basket.  I cleaned all the Valentine stuff out and add some misc projects...(and yes Jovi, I ate the pack of Hot Tamales LOL)

Cleaned my big shot area too...I showed this spot last week....paper all filed away...whew!

Speaking of paper, this is how I store my SU! solid cardstock. (in manila folders with cardstock tags/labels on them) I used to have all this in a rolling hanging file holder. I like this system as the storage shelf is eye level and easy to find a specific color. I do want to add colored tags to the sides of the folders now that I have moved to a shelf system. Someday I will get around to that!

Hope you have a chance to go visit some of the fun WOYWWer's this week!

Featured stamper #178-Charlene Driggs

I made this card in honor of my good stampin bud Charlene Driggs.

Charlene (aka cookiebaker)  has been named the Featured Stamper #178 over at Splitcoast Stampers! Now how cool is that??? You must go visit her blog, Paper and Ink Playground.

I chose to case THIS card. Charlene is known for her fabulous clean and simple cards.(and they are not as easy as they appear either!)  I have never played along with the Featured Stamper Challenge before, so I hope I didn't mess it up!

I am so excited for you Charlene, sorry to be sliding in sideways on the last day, but I made it!

Penny Black Sweet Talk

I colored all  these images with this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge #92 in mind.  The challenge this week is to use springy colors. I hope you are not sick of this wonderful Stampin Up Cottage Wall DP. It is so pretty and it goes a looooonggg way! I made this mini album with it too, and I still have at least half of it left!

I have had this Sweet Talk Penny Black stamp forever and it has not ever seen ink...it was time... and makes a sweet card set as well!

I have not stamped much over the last couple of weeks, just no drive, but today I spent the whole afternoon making these cards. I find if I see some good sketches, that seems to get me motivated to pop up into my stamp room. I did manage to clean it up a wee bit so I could find room to stamp...my goodness it does get messy fast.  I will list the sketch challenges I used under each card.

I actually had to change this sketch up a wee bit as my main bunny image wasn't the the full length of the card and I liked the way it turned out after I added that bit on the bottom.

I am working on a little Gwamma brag book to carry in my purse. Nothing fancy schmancy, but I never seem to have pictures of my grandsons with me when someone asks..how bad is that? I hope to finish it up in the next day or two and then will show you that this week as well.

Happy Birthday Charla---Mini Album

There is nothing much that makes me happier than my grandbabies. My childhood friend and stamping buddy Charla had a birthday this weekend and I made this mini album for her as I know she is JUST like me...nothing makes her happier than Maddie and Abby, her granddaughters.

I went to a CK Scrapbook Convention a few weeks back, and that always gets me excited for mini albums again. I came home and" whipped up"  a couple!(I will post a cute baby girl one later this week- I hope) It did take me longer than I planned to make these books, I have to plan everything out...and Charla knows I am NOT a planner LOL!  I drew out my pages and measured  for my pictures...whew! Luckily, my dear son helped me by printing out the pictures while I scrapped...what a sweetheart! I am normally one of those crafters that just goes with the flow and whatever "channels" out of me is what happens LOL!

The first and second pictures are the front of the album. The DP is from Stampin' Up-called Cottage Wall...pure lovely paper! The polka dot ribbon is one of this years in color, Rich Razzleberry. I used the SU! punch 5 petal flower as well as Boho Blossoms punch for all the flowers. (A Martha lattice punch on the front page as well). The album is a 4 x 6 black chipboard from AwesomeAlbums.com.

Abby and Maddie so sweet!
The picture slips out. Lots of room for Grandma to journal on the back of all the pictures

Page 2 and 3-Eyelet border punch used here

Page 2-Untie the ribbon and the little booklet unfolds

Page 3 slides out

Page 4 and 5 with Basic Grey thick Chipboard letters.

Page 5 picture pulls up.

Page 4 picture pulls out.

Page 6 and 7 have tags that pull out. Tags made with my cricut and circle nesties.

Page 8 is a small 3 x3 Stampin Up envelope and the picture pulls up. Page 9 is a gatefold that unties and opens up. Sentiment stamp from SU!

I hope you enjoyed looking at this project...lots of pictures for sure!

I made a darling little fold out baby album for a  shower gift  this week as well, but need to edit my pictures before  I can show you. (and clean my craft room...OH MY)  I get to flinging paper and tools all over the place in my scrapping frenzy!
