All things metallic at Top Tip Tuesday

Hello!!

Can you believe two weeks have gone by already and it's time for a new challenge over at Top Tip Tuesday?  No, me neither!

This fortnights theme is

I went down the metal route, and made a funky card for a teenage boy (always find boys cards really tough!  Teenage boys especially so!!), and tucked this fabulous image from Ladybug Crafts Ink - he's called Skateboarder Josh and is from the Teenager range

Isn't he cool!  I've teamed him with MME papers, and a zip and metal button

I really loved how this image coloured up

Thanks for stopping by

Ladybug Crafts Ink - Colour Wheel Challenge

Hello!

What an idiot I am, this challenge went live last week, but I got all confused with the last challenge and missed the first week!

Anyway, rather than post late, I'm doing this as a mid-week reminder!  The challenge this week is a colour wheel challenge - where you pick a colour then pick the colour on the opposite side of the wheel as your complimentary colour - check out the challenge blog.   I used orange - not an easy choice for me as it is not my go-to colour!  But on the flip side that gave me blue to work with... whoo hoo!

It seems my camera doesn't like orange very much as this was about the twentieth picture I have taken, and it is the best of a very ropey bunch!  How very odd :-D

Anyway, I used Mobile Phone Josh and a whole host of MME papers, and my new Memory Box die and Cuttlebug Chicken Wire embossing folder.  I have to say it is very theraputic (if not messy!) distressing all those edges!  I also used a bunting banner die from MFT for my sentiment

The camera liked the close up of the image a bit better, not much though!

Please may I enter these challenges
Thanks for looking

Ladybug Crafts Ink - New Digi Release and it's time for me to reveal my cards!

Hello!!

It's my turn over at LCI to reveal my cards for the new teenager release

I've been itching to share these with you, and finally my day is here :-D

First up, I used Mobile Phone Josh

I made this for James' birthday card, and even though he was just turning 10 he LOVED it, and thought it was really cool - high praise indeed!!Mind you he is now nagging me to get him his own phone - every cloud and all that :-D

I coloured the image with my copics, picking up the colours from the MME papers, which I also used to decorate the inside...

Along with an LCI sentiment

I really like how this card turned out, I love how the papers and the image work together so well :-D

For my second card I used Hair Straigheners Jess

This card is a bit more fussy, as it's for my friends daughter, but isn't girly girly.  In fact I used another MME pad and more of the denim effect papers that I used on the Josh card above, but no pink in sight as I chose to use orange as my main accent colour (unusual for me!!), just love how she coloured up.  Like Josh, there is just enough detail to help you figure out light and shade without it being overbearing (does that make sense?  It does to me!!)

This card has a hidden sentiment

If you leave a comment on the challenge blog today you can win one of these two images - and if you leave a comment each of the reveal posts you can win a £15 to spend at LCI, plus all the usual goodies for entering the main challenge!  Phew that is a lot of prizes!!

Many thanks for stopping by

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 45 - Birthday Greetings

Hello!!

This week's Scrapbook Sisters Card challenge is Birthday Greetings, and I'm really sorry for pre-empting things last week, but Karen was really rather poorly and the challenge post didn't happen  so my Birthday Greetings part 1 card  - here - kinda gave the game away... so sorry (embarrassed face!!)

Anyway, I decided to make a bit of a funky card this time round, and it ended up with a bit of all sorts on there, but I kind of like it, and check out the wall behind her - I got busy with the very much neglected brayer (after I had washed the dust off it!!) and inked up my TH brick wall embossing folder, how great does it make it look!!  I think I'll be doing this MUCH more in the future... LOL, don't say you weren't warned!!

Without further waffle from me, here's my card

Did you notice it's NOT square!!  Square is my go to shape, but it's good to make something different, even if different is just a rectangle!!  The layout is based on one of the lovely Card Patterns ones from a week or so ago

I used one of my Kenny K images and coloured her up with my copics... and I think she looks fabulous, even if I do say so myself!!

These papers are by the MME Father and Son collection, but I think they work well with this image... and the fabby wall as they don't scream BOY at you, and are perfect for girls who're into pretty, but not pink!! :-).  The scallops are cut with a MS punch, and I dropped it right down so only the top bits were showing.

The Lace, ribbon, button and flowers are all from my horde (stash no longer covers it!)  and the tickets are from my PTI set (so wish they were readily available in the UK, as the postage to the UK is horrendous!!) stamped onto white CS and distressed.. A LOT.. I should have worn gloves as I looked like I'd been fingerprinted :-D

Hope you like it - please can I enter these challenges

More tomorrow, thanks for looking!!

P.S.  If you haven't noticed I've got a rather yummy blog candy on offer here, why not give it a go?!

CASsy Cutie

Two posts in one day!  Look at me go!!

I decided to make a quick card using the scraps from my earlier card to make another note card for my box - I'm now thinking of making a little box thingy and putting six or so in each one and giving them as gifts at Christmas or whenever!  I might just have enough to go round by then!!

Seeing as I'm missing out on our family day out due to sicky child, I thought I'd make the most of him being quiet and get some crafting done!

I used this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch, just rotated it 90 degrees

I used one of my favourite Kenny K images, and a Whimsy stamp

I really could get into this CAS thing you know :-)

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges

Thanks for stopping by, more tomorrow!!

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 34 - Recipe Challenge

Hi!  This week's Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge  is

A Recipe - Include 2 ribbons, flower /brad

Here's my card

I used tulle and lace for my ribbon.  OMG does lace count as ribbon!?!?  Fingers crossed it does (and if it doesn't, you'll forgive me!)

The image is a Kenny K digi (love this , and I have coloured her with copics... I'm still not 100% happy with how I colour hair, but I'm getting there (I think!!).  As ever the photo does not do this card justice!!

I used a lacey circles nestie and my Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder.  As I don't (yet!) have a circle Nestie I used a 3" circle punch which fitted just fine :-)  I really like how she looks against the chocolate circle!

I chose to use a flat flower for a change rather than the roses that seem to make an appearance on everything I do at the moment :-D

The brad in the centre of the flower is by Dovecraft - I thought the Wicked that is printed on the brad was appropriate for this card :-)

The panel is bordered with a MS border punch in tan Bazzill, and I have sewn round this and the main card with brown thread.  The sentiment and die are by Whimsey Stamps, and I have distressed it with Antique Linen, Weathered Wood and Bundled Sage Distress Inks.  I love these papers by Basic Grey - odd how after a couple of years of being a bit indifferent to their papers, I'm now getting into them!!  Go figure - maybe because I'm making far more cards than scrapbook pages these days, so the bold print is less scary, or maybe I'm becoming more brave!!  Either way, this paper is Archaic Obsolescent and I really love the soft colours

A few gems finished my card off, hope you like it!

Looking forward to seeing your cards, which you can link to the main blog here

Thanks for stopping by, Sue xx

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 27 - Anything Goes

Wow, can you believe it's time for this weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge already!!  This week the challenge is a nice easy one, because

Anything Goes

I chose to use one of the Kenny K images that I got a while ago but have only coloured once and some of the new Stella and Rose (I used 12x12 sheets but you can get the 6 x 6 pad here) and some tan coloured Bazzill which I thought worked well together.

I machine stiched each of the panels, and used a Martha Stewart Gothic Arch border punch to add a bit of detail, and tied some thin twine round the card.  I didn't have any flowers in the colours that I wanted so distressed some off white ones with Antique Linen and Barn Door distress inks then added a button tied with more of the twine.
I coloured the image with copics and then cut herout and then layered it up on top of a 3" circle that has been embossed using a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder and then distressed the edges with more of the distress inks.  The ticket got the same treatment and I domed the centre as I stuck it on.  I wasn't sure where I was headed with this one when I started but I actually really love the result!!  Which is good as I have been lacking in mojo for the last week or so :-(  Since I took these photo's I have coloured the hearts in the sentiment in with a red copic pen and given her a glittery earring :-)

That's it from me for today, looking forward to seeing all of your creations
