Animal Magic at Top Tip Tuesday

Hello!!

This fortnights Challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is

Animals

which has been generously sponsored by Crafty Sentiments

Actually, I'm a week late as I had an issue with my phone line and have been without internet access except on my phone for the last week - the kids have driven me mad!!

I used the oh-so-cute Couples image to create an Anniversary card

I used some old papers - I think they are Prima!  The heart dies are by Memorybox, and thefence is an Ooh La La, and the butterfly is from Joy Crafts.  The had-it-in-my-stash for ages ribbon is by Bo Bunny which has been layered on some lace.  The sentiment is from Woodware. I decorated the inside to match

The image is adorable to colour - I used copics, but I think any colouring medium would work, especially some of the aqua pens that I keep looking at and telling myself I really can't justify buying - lets see how long my resolve holds out ;-)

That's it from me today - but before I go, please can I enter these challenges

That's it from me today - have a great week

C'est L'Amour... at Crafty Cardmakers and More...

Hello!!

Two posts from me in one day... whatever next!!

I sooo needed the chance to get inky and creative this weekend, it's been a busy couple of weeks at work for one reason or another, but my work laptop stayed in it's bag, as my crafty stash was calling!!  It might mean a busier week for me next week, but my soul needed the break :-)

This fortnights challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and More is Love, Love, Love...

... but maybe that should be l'amour, l'amour, l'amour in my case, with my nod towards Parisian romance :-)

Anyway, this weekend was also my brother and sister-in-laws wedding anniversary, so I made a wedding anniversary card.  I used some Making Memories papers from my stash, topped with a Stampin Up Postcard Stamp that has been distressed with various distress inks and has had the edges roughed up

The main sentiment is a ticket made up of a plain ticket stamp stamped in grey, which has been overstamped with a love sentiment stamped in brown then distressed with assorted distress inks, but slightly different tones to that of the postcard beneath

I really love this birdcage charm from Live and Love Crafts as it's not too twee!

And I just had to pop some of my lovely pins (also from Live and Love Crafts on here).  Again the postcard is just peaking out underneath...

I've not used flowers on a card in ages!  It wasn't a conscious thing, I'd popped the box away and kinda forgot about them I guess :-)  You can just see the gorgeous rhinestone lace and subtle die cut in this one :-)

Hope you like this card as much as I do

In the Pink @ Ladybug Crafts Ink

Hello!!

Can you believe it's the second week of February already!  Where is the time going :-D

We're a poorly household at the moment - my small son has the flu and is feeling very sorry for himself.  Actually, I feel quite sorry for him too, he laid on the sofa all day yesterday, and was so unbelievably hot!  For a usually independent 5-year old he was wanting his mummy more than usual (that bit was quite cute really!), his legs didn't belong to him and he didn't want anything to eat, so I was passing him his drink with a straw, wiping his face with a damp flannel, and carrying him to the loo as the stairs wiped him out :-(.  Daddy is looking after him today - what's the betting I go home and the pair of them are still where I left them this morning??

I've done something nasty to a tendon in my big toe, OMG - ouch!!!  Maybe it's because I'm dosed up on painkillers that made me so calm yesterday!  All I did was bend down to put some washing in the machine and it kinda pinged :-(  It better sort itself out soon as we've got a black tie do at the end of the month, and I'm NOT wearing flats when I've got a gorgeous pair of heels bought specially (actually, two gorgeous pairs of heels, I couldn't decide which I preferred!!)

Anyway, enough of me moaning, onto today's card, which is for this weeks LCI Challenge as chosen by the lovely Laurie who wants to see your Pink plus One creations!

Now this challenge has been met with some headaches for the team, some of whom are complete pinkaphobes!  I'm not overly keen on pink as a dominant colour, but think it looks pretty good with white and these Teresa Collins papers are detailed enough to keep a bit of interest.

I've had these shaped cards in my stash for ages, and I've never been that happy with anything I've made with them, but I saw an easel card at a craft show a while back that used shaped cards, and decided to "lift" the idea.  I wish knew who to credit for the original idea, or even what stand it was on, I'm so sorry if it was you!  A bit of organza ribbon acts as a stopper for the easel, and I've added a metal embelishment with a pink epoxy dot in the middle.

I've used Tic-Tac Love and this image is available from Ladybug Crafts Ink - isn't it cool!  I've used it here for HB's valentines card, but I think it's great for anniversary's, engagement's or any other romantic occasion.  I decided to fussy cut it, and 3D the "missing" pieces onto the edges of the main image - in reality they are further away - my friend Lisa has used the same image but she wasn't naughty with the scissors like me!!  As always, I've coloured my image with copics - I love images like these as this one colours up really quickly (well, for me anyway, I usually fuss and it takes me AGES!!), and so are perfect for those "oops... I (nearly) forgot" moments!!

A Cheery Lynn die acts as a frame behind the image and a Marianne florish, flowers and pins finish my card off.  I don't think it's too pink for HB!

Please may I enter these challenges

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 56 - Anything Goes

Hello!

This weeks Scrapbook Sisters Challenge is a nice and easy one as it is

I decided to use one of the rather stunning dancer digi's by Scrapbook Sisters - seemed appropriate now that Strictly Come Dancing (UK version of Dancing with the Stars) is back on our screens!

You can't see that well, but I overstamped the panel with a Kaisercraft rose stamp and embossed it.  The gates behind the dancers are from the same set.  I don't know about you but I am always really nervous about stamping directly onto paper, especially when I like it as much as I do with this MME Portobello Road "Party" Looking Glass Paper.  I distressed the edges of the papers and the black CS, added a gem swirl I won in a recent challenge, more gems, a bow and a Woodware sentiment and ta-da all done :-D

I added glamour dust to sections of her outfit, just for a bit more bling!!

Hope you can join in with the challenge this week :-D

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 48 - Blue for You

Hello!!

Blue for You

and I have to admit, I got a bit carried away, and ended up making three cards :-D  One worked out better than I'd hoped, one was pretty much what I was aiming for and the third, well it didn't turn out exactly as planned, and I'm not sure if it will survive as it is or get broken down and fiddled with!  I'll post it when I'm happer with it!!

Anyway, this might be a long one, so you can either grab yourself a cuppa and have a read, or have a quick peek at the pictures... I won't be offended !!

This is the card I am most pleased with, as it's very different from my normal style, so was quite a stretch for me, but I think I should try this more often!!.  I embossed a couple of images with clear embossing powder, and then got busy with some distress inks, stamped the chandelier and the sentiment, masked them then stamped the script stamp over the top in distress inks,  It didn't stamp prefectly as I was stamping on Bazzill and it's only one of the great value Prima stamps which don't seem to work that well with distress inks.  Normally I would have thought I'd wrecked the card, but I think it adds to the overall

The image is coloured with copics and theres a touch of sparkle with glamour dust on her gloves, bow and hem.  I'd got some bias binding from a haberdashery store recently and was itching to try it out.  The only think I might do differently would be to iron the creases out, but I kinda only thought of that after the card was assembled... duh!!  I also really like tag shaped cards, I just have't done one in AGES!!

Supplies: Image - Dancer 2 Scrapbook Sisters; Prima Scroll, Flower, Sentiment and Script stamps; Chandelier stamp - magazine freebie
Inks etc- Stone Grey Stazon; Antique Linen, Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Stormy Sky Distress Inks; Versamark: Clear embossing Powder; Glamour Dust
Ribbon etc - Prima Lace, Blue Grosgrain, Brown Bias Binding

I'd like to enter my card into these challenges please

My second card is the one that turned out pretty much as I'd hoped, and after all the stamping, inking and embossing of the first card I kept it CAS, layering the image on a blue sqaure - handcut I might add, I don't own any square nesties!!

I want my legs to look like these!!  Actually I want the shoes too :-D

Supplies - Blue Bazzill, Scalloped edged card blank; He Loves Me Digi , Scrapbook Sisters; Woodware Sentiment, Copics, Glamour Dust, Ribbon

Please may I enter this card into these challenges
Thanks for stopping by, hope you can join in with the challenge this week :-D

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 46 - Silhouette

Hello!!!

This week the challenge over at Scrapbook Sisters is

Silhouette

I decided to go all old school, traditional, elegant and stylish and this digi stamp designed by the multi talented Gayle seemed absolutely perfect.

I can't decide if this is a Wedding or Anniversary card - I guess it fits either occasion!!

This was the first time I have ever coloured skin in greys - I was thinking old black and white movie here - did it work?!  She is coloured as always with copics and I added some Glamour Dust to her gloves, the bow and ruffle of her dress and her shoes

I used Theresa Collins papers and the postcard is by Echo Park - the placement of the dancers is to cover something very strange that annoyed me - on the postcard it says London circa something or other, when plainly the image is the Eiffel Tower!!  I tied a little Eiffel Tower charm on with some organza ribbon that is threaded through some lace.  The sentiment on the postcard is a Bo Bunny rub on that I have had in my stash for years - amazingly it hadn't dried out and went on just fine :-D  T roughed up the edges of the postcard and dabbed them with some Tattered Rose distress ink

Please can I enter my card into these challenges

Just my cup of tea... or hot chocolate :-)

Hi!  I hope you are having better weekend than we are as my eldest got a sicky bug on Friday that left him wiped out most of yesterday as well, just as we thought it would be safe to go out today, the small one started yesterday... ewwww!!!!

Thankfully they aren't too ill too often, so it comes as a nasty surprise to them (and me!) when they are :-(

There does seem to be a nasty bug going around as both my MIL and FIL had it on Saturday night, so spent Sunday laid up in bed recovering... cue horrified look from my HB as it was their Ruby Wedding Anniversary yesterday and when he phoned to wish them a good day only to be told they had spent all of it in bed... it took a few seconds before he realised they were ill and not passing on more information than he wanted to hear... ROFL!!!

Which brings me in a kinda round-a-bout way to todays card, which I made for them.

I used some Bo Bunny papers that have been sitting in my stash for a while and used a Paper Shelter digi, some ribbon and a button.  The sentiment is by Woodware.

I printed a sentiment for the inside off on the computer as I didn't have anything suitable for a ruby wedding, I guess it's not something that is called for much!!

I quite like the combo of red and chocolate with these papers, I know its not that traditional a card for such an occasion but I think they'll approve :-)

I'd like to enter this card for these challenges

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day :-)

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 31 - Wedding or Anniversary

This week at Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge the challenge is

Wedding or Anniversary

and I couldn't resist using my Gus and Margaret digi

I inked the edges of the papers with a caramel coloured chalk eye, and them went round them all with brown thread in the sewing machine

I combined some flowers (well it's an anniversay card, and flowers are romantic!), gems, ribbon and a heart charm from my stash are added to the lovely Paper Salon papers.  The ticket is made up from my Papertrey Ink ticket set, and the border punch is by MS.

LOL! Don't they look cute together? :-)  I gave both of their glasses a good coat of glossy accents  and added stickles to the dots on her dress and slippers too.

The inside has been decorated similarly

I love the colours of this card - blue/chocolate is yet another of my favourite colour combinations!

Looking forward to seeing your creations

Happy Anniversary!

Not that he'll spot this, but Happy Anniversary to my hubby - it's our 13th today :-)

Just a quick post, but I'll share the card I made for him using a Bugaboo image and sentiment - take the time to check them out as they are having a sale until 22nd January and there is 60% off!!

I've used this weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers, and some Basic Grey papers that I had lurking from an absolute age ago :-)

We aren't quite this old. but the sentiment appealed to me!

And here we are, 13 years ago

OMG, don't we look young!!  Came across this one too, check out our wedding car :-)

Anniversary Card

Morning!  Quick post this morning as work (and kids) are calling!!

One of my friends needed an anniversary card for her Mum and Dad and asked me to make one, after a bit of discussion we decided on an all white card and my bunch of flowers stamp by Magenta

I've based it on the sketch over at Paper Sundaes Challenge 32 - Sketch

I've coloured the stamp with my copics, put glamour dust on the ribbon and dotted crystal stickles about on the sprays.  There are more layers of white card on this card (8!!!) than I thought possible :-)  sorry for the shocking photo as you can't really see them all!  It looks lovely IRL too!

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Range.  I have made the pins myself and tied them with a bit of white organza ribbon.

I'd also like to enter this card for

Right, gotta run!  Back to the Teal cards tomorrow, or maybe a scrapbook page or two!

Anniversary Card

Hi, hope you are having a good day!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for a 25th Wedding Anniversary, and while Silver is more traditional I wanted to make it a bit more modern and funky.

It was made for a couple for whom I was Bridesmaid when I was 12, and they can't have been much older themselves because they are only in their early 40's now!

It's based on a card I saw done by the very talented Gayle a while ago and I have used the some of the stamps from one of the sets she designed for Scrapbook Sisters which you can see here (think they are currently out of stock at the moment though :-(  )

I've tried to take some pictures from different angles, not sure how successful some of them are though!

The green paper is "Adorable" from the Alissa range by Bo Bunny, and the 25 is chipboard that I have covered with Bazzill Bling and inked up with a chalk eye

I really struggled to get the cardstock to remain curled, and decided I needed to stick it down somehow - after a couple of unsuccessful attempts I found that foam pads were the only things that would hold them.  To be honest I think I used too heavy a weight cardstock

The happy anniversary sentiment is from from a Woodware set.  The leaves have been stamped using Bundled Sage Distress Ink, and the flowers have been stamped onto Delicate Posies paper by Magenta

After I put it all together I decided something was missing, so used a set of 3 of the smaller flowers from the stamp set then coloured them with copics.  I really wish I'd thought about this before I stuck everything else down as it was really difficult to get a good clean image with it all in place!

I hope they like it :-)

Thanks for looking
