JUNE 2024 SMALL DIE AND STENCIL OF THE MONTH

June's Small Die of the Month is called Summertime Wade Pool and features a dancin' hippo, dancin' ice cream cone and pool floaties for them. I chose to use Ms. Hippo and gave her bright blue sun glasses that coordinate with her pool floatie! I added touches of Shimmer to the pink beach ball centers and pool floatie with my favorite Glitter Brush marker in Clear Shimmer.
For the background, I used Stencil of the Month, which is called Summertine Graphics. This is a set of 5 A2 layering stencils that create summertime backgrounds, a cute beach ball design, a sun peeking over layered ocean waves, and a sun peeking out from some clouds.
I used the beach ball stencils and ink blended with Distress Oxide inks.

Burger time!

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and easy summertime card to share.  I played along with the SCS Clean and Simple challenge, to make a Summertime card.  I used the super fun set called, Build A Burger.  This set is part of the Spring into Summer catalog and is still available for a few more days (until June 30th).
Since it was a simple challenge, I chose to paper piece the burger elements instead of coloring.  It went by much faster.  I added a few embellishments and called it good.  If you want to play along, you can find the challenge details here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture of my burger:

Beautiful card -I'm wishing for the sun!

Hi everyone!  I have a sunny happy card to share today. I made this to cheer myself up because I'm sitting here on yet another cold and rainy day.  Boy oh boy I want summer to get here!!
My card uses the stamp set, Hello Lovely and I love how cheery it is.  It has 3 sunflower, 3 adorable bees and 4 sentiments!!  I also used my much neglected Steel Rule die called Fab Tabs.  This die has 10 tabs in a variety of shapes and sizes.  They are primarily meant for Memory Keeping and Planners, but I love to cut them in half and use on cards for little accent banners!  Both the bees and the center of my sunflower have Journey Glaze on them and on the flower I sprinkled it with Sparkle Dust!  Super fun.
I watercolored the images.  Shocking, I know, but I have found a super easy to do this and it's become my go-to way to color now.  I just color the image directly with the Color Splash pencils and get my brush wet and lightly smooth out the color.  Done, easy!  I still struggle with creating fabulous backgrounds, but this is a good start for us technique challenged crafters.  Am I right?!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Day at the beach

Hi everyone!  Summer is in full swing! I know this because my allergies are OFF THE CHARTS right now.  But I digress, my boys get out of school on June 16th (yes, much later than most of the US) and one of the things on our to do list this summer is visiting the Oregon Coast.  If you're not familiar with the Oregon Coast, it's not your typical day at the beach - lots of wind and cold, but still much fun to be had.  With that spirit in mind, here is today's card.
I used the new Summer Fun stamp set and matching Summer Fun die set.  I colored them with water color pencils and then added Journey Glaze over top.  I didn't use any on this card, but the collection has matching wooden shapes which are adorable.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
