HI stitching card with Be Bold Blooms

 Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing another stitching card using the Be Bold Blooms flower die cuts I had left over from my sister's birthday card. I used a slightly bluer tone for my background and embossed it with the Leafy 3D embossing folder. I combined the Stitched Hi and the new Punctuation and Symbols stitching die sets. I just love how it turned out!

This time I stitched with a dark purple floss to compliment the dark purple die cuts and added a foiled sentiment from my stash. I've been asked where I get my floss and when I first started, I was torn between getting the highest quality floss by DMC (which has a higher price) or a mid grade floss off Amazon. I went with the Amazon floss, the bundle I purchased had 200 colors, so it was hard to pass up! I'm really happy with them, they isn't as smooth as DMC, so separating the strands isn't as nice and they do get twisted a bit when stitching, but nothing I can't live with. I'll link everything I purchased below.

If you're new to stitching, be sure check out my Instagram page. I posted a 1 minute reel that shows all the steps. When I first tried stitching, I scoured YouTube to get an idea on how and where to start. So I made this short reel to show how I do it for anyone curious about stitching.

Stitched numbers with purple flowers birthday card

 Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a special birthday card with you. My sister loves all things purple. No joke, if purple was an actual person it would be her! My sister turned 50 during the Covid lockdown and each birthday after that someone in the family HAD Covid, so we've never really celebrated her 50th. This year (God willing) we are all healthy and will finally have the celebration she deserves. This card is for her.

I just know she will love it. I used the numbers 5 and 3 from the new Stitched Numbers die set. I die cut a million flowers from my beloved Be Bold Blooms die set and played around until I had a layout I liked. Not gonna lie, I struggled for over a day and then I had the idea to ground everything in a medium TEAL cardstock. I even had one ALREADY embossed with Dimensional Diamonds in my stash, so it was meant to be. I think it gave the numbers and flowers just the right POP.

Stitched Happy Holidays

 Hi everyone! I have a fun card to share today. If you like to stitch on your cards, the new Stitched Petal Diamond Background die set is for you! Not gonna lie, this is not for the faint of heart cause there is a lot of stitching. But, just look how it turns out! STUNNING!

I die cut the card front panel from Raindrop cardstock and stitched the flower shapes with the DMC Silver Metallic thread and the circles with white floss. I used some silver pearls for the centers. I had to add a few Christmas flowers and I chose the smallest poinsettia from the Holiday Blooms die set. I die cut them from White and Silver Mirror cardstock and a few green leaves to break up the blue and silver.

Stitched HI - Inked 3D embossing folder

 Hi everyone! I've really been enjoying the new 3D embossing folder collection from Spellbinders June release. My card today pairs the Beautiful Blooms folder and the new Stitched HI die set.

 I used 3 colors of pink/berry colored embroidery floss and stitched them in an ombre progression light to dark, top to bottom.
Awhile back I was deciding between buying less expensive mid-grade floss or the more expensive premium DMC floss. I ended up getting the mid-grade floss off Amazon and while it's not as smooth as DMC, the color selection can't be beat and it's VERY usable. I purchased this set from the brand Inscraft and since half came pre-wrapped on bobbins (a total bonus!), I bought bobbin cards to wrap the rest.

To get that soft mint look in the background, I inked the folder on the floral RECESSED side. If you're unsure which side to ink, run your hand along the inside and ink the side that does NOT have the floral parts raised. Here is a close up of the inked panel.
TIP: give your cardstock a light spritz with water before embossing. The 3D folders stretch the cardstock fibers more than the normal folders and this will reduce the amount of cracking.

If you want to see a video of the card closeup, head over to my Instagram page and check out my reel! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Spellbinders Stitched Alpha HUGS

Hi everyone! I am back today with another card using the new Spellbinders Stitched Alphabet collection. This slimline card uses the Slimline Flora embossing folder as a background and I used the letters that spell HUGS. With flowers from the Be Bold Blooms set peeking out.

Dies used on my card:
* Letter H
* Letter U
*Letter G
* Letter S

I wanted to use some colors slightly outside my comfort zone, so I picked orange for the flowers and floss. It compliments the aqua backing for the letters quite nicely and was a go-to color combo when I made baby boy projects years ago.

I will say that I had fun doing the stitching on this card. I decided to order some floss and went with a huge collection of "off brand" floss on Amazon. The bundle was for 200 colors, so I think I can match any project I decide on and then some!

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Spellbinders May release: UR Wonderful

Hi everyone! The Spellbinders May release is here and I am excited to share a fun card using a couple new dies along with 2 old favorites of mine.

Dies used on my card:
* Letter U
* Letter R
- Stitched Alphabet Glimmer Descriptors
My card features the new Stitched Alphabet collection, the Letter U and the Letter R. This was my first time doing any stitching on cards and I really love the look! After watching a few YouTube videos I jumped right in and already I know I have to buy floss in every color! I am hooked!!
I die cut the letters 2 times and glued them together. This made it a bit stronger and able to withstand the stitching better. My first attempt using 1 die cut ended up bent in a few of the thinner letter areas (like the bottom connection of the letter U).
The sentiments are from the new Stitched Alphabet Glimmer Descriptors foiled in Silver. This new glimmer set comes with a million words - Just kidding, it's a set of 27 and they are a wide variety of fun words. There is a word for everything.
And this cute card would not be complete without some flowers from my favorite flower die set, Be Bold Blooms and YES, IT IS IN STOCK! Go order one while they last!
I added tiny gems to the center of each stitched "flower" to give it that extra sparkle and it turned out so pretty IRL.
So I am curious, have you all tried the stitching dies? If so do you enjoy it? I wonder if this is a new fad or it will stick around and be worth it to purchase a ton of floss!! Spellbinders sells DMC Floss in a variety of bundles, and DMC is the highest quality floss. BUT Amazon is a cheaper alternative and there are some inexpensive kits that has a lower grade floss already wound on plastic spools. I'm deciding which way to go. Which do you recommend? I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! Here are some close up pictures.
