Frosty mornings

I love a good frosty morning. I would much rather it be very cold than it be wet . You can wrap up warm , but staying dry on the school run is virtually impossible.
Anyway, frosty mornings are even better when welcomed with a sky like this.
The pictures do not even begin to do it justice , and it got even better .
Sometimes ,we need a little reminder of why it's good to be here .
My latest stitchy finish , completed this afternoon.
I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.
Busy day tomorrow, and exciting. Once the shopping is done , I'm off to the framers to pick up two of my stitched finishes , then later we are off to Sheffield arena to the Young Voices concert , as my Daughter is singing with our school. All good stuff.
Thanks for dropping by ,

What did I do ?

Noticed I have lost six followers since this morning , wow , I must have been a very bad blogger.

No stitching to show , been very busy wrapping and stuff , but want to leave you with a lovely pic of the beautiful sunrise from the other day .

Must make more time to blog .

I have things to post about , but keep putting off actually doing it ,lol.
The time of year is not helping , I have so many things to do and it's hard to work out what to do first so mostly end up doing not a lot.
We are almost done with the present shopping , hubby and I are taking a day out to get each other some things , looking forward to the day more than the shopping ,lol.

I have been busy for LQUK again , pretty squares .

This picture will not go the right way , sorry .
  Any child squares .

A friend bought a stuffed toy kit for their daughter , thinking it cam with bits of fabric to put together . Wrong ! It came with wool and needles for the bits to be knitted up . They didn't have a clue so asked me if I could sort it out .
I quite enjoyed making it up , over three days but with lots of time doing other things. A nice little kit really .
This was our sky this morning . Lots of frost , but it was better than yesterday which was black ice everywhere . It was a bit tricky on the morning school run I can tell you.

More news coming soon . Stay safe and warm peeps. I have had the heating on all day for the last couple of days . The cats are much happier ,lol.

There is still time to join in with the sister stitcher exchange for next year if you are interested .x

Take care ,
 Cath

Red sky in the morning

Means stay in and stitch .

A beautiful sight this morning has left a very cold and windy day, and to top it off it is now wet .
So , nothing to do but stay in and stitch . After a full day stitching last Wednesday (the kids were at an after school club so I got an extra hour too) and a few more sessions , I only had the sand left to do on Calm Seas , so now it is Happy Dance time !!!! YAY!
I mostly enjoyed stitching it , but I'm glad it's done. Quite pleased with how it's turned out ,though it needs a good wash before taking to the framers. It is one of those that looks better from a distance though , as it is taken from a painting.
 So , what next ?
Well, I have a square to do for LQUK, then I would like to finish off all of my WIPs/UFOs before the end of the year if I can .
 They are  LK ABC Lessons
Christmas Recipe
and Three Little Maids , which at the moment is only Two ,lol.
I would love to get these all done so next year can be a clean slate .
Next year is going to be a Big project year I think , but more on that later .

Thanks for dropping by,

Done!

Well, I have finished the travelling pattern ,and I have to say that I loved every single stitch , it really is a lovely chart to stitch ,very relaxed and fun .
I used the recommended DMC threads and a piece of 28 ct fabric from my stash .
So ,the travelling pattern is now ready to set off again . If you are interested in being the nest person to stitch this chart , please leave a comment on this post only , I will announce who it will be in just over a week , with the holidays being upon us, I'll give people a chance to reply.

We have had some lovely weather this week , just hope it stays around for a while. Yesterday , whilst pegging washing out, I took advantage of the lovely sky and took some great cloud pics ,it didn't look real, but made the sky look so vast , it was almost breath taking .

I also took some photos of the chooks . I won't put all of them on here ,so here is one of all the girls together .

Thanks for dropping by , don't forget to leave a comment to be in with a chance of getting the travelling pattern.
 Take care ,
 Cath

Remember

If we didn't haveThere wouldn't be any
On days like today, when you've got soaked to the skin on the school run , it's nice to have a pretty reminder when you get home .

Just catching up .

Hi everyone , today dawned cooler , grey and damp and it is now raining properly. I'm not complaining , I'm not a sun seeker or a big fan of hot weather , though I do like it to be reasonable. Anyway , the gardens need the water and we all need some fresher air , so it's a good day in my opinion.
I couldn't resist showing a picture of the flowers on one of our courgette plants . I think they're really pretty , just a shame they don't last very long.

We usually have a couple of plants that we buy as sets from the local herb garden , this year we have ten plants lol. My MIL set them all from seed and was more successful than she anticipated . Good job we like courgettes , though I guess we will end up with a freezer full of various recipes .

We had another lovely sunset the other day . I missed taking pics of the best part as I was out watering the plants , but this was near the end .

sorry the photo is a bit fuzzy , it was late and I was tired.

So , my stash from Wimblebees arrived , yippee .

Bent Creeks' Autumn Row , Lanartes' African Woman and L&Ls' In the arms of an Angel .

I've had my eye on African Woman for a couple of years , and when you can get it at half price , you've just got to go with the flow . I also ordered Lizzie Kates' Housework Never , but it was sold out , and a little something else that I can't show at the moment.

Don't know when I'll get to stitch these , but at least I've got them lol.

Progress on Moon Struck :

I haven't done as much as I'd hoped. Most days last week seemed to be spent running round doing lots of errands , and I've got two sports days to go to this week , so not sure how much will get done . I would have liked to have got the sky finished over the weekend , but it didn't happen . I am enjoying stitching this though , even though it's not something I'd usually do , so can't be bad. I need to crack on with it though so I can get my other project started. More on that next time .

Thanks for dropping by ,

Cath

More of the white stuff.

We have had around four inches of snow in the last three hours , and it's still coming. Though it has slowed down a bit. This has come after a bit of snow over the weekend which is mostly now turned to ice , so not the best of walking conditions.
My daughter started back at school this morning , but I've just got a message that they're closing at lunch time , so got to drag my son out again , then I'm sure they'll want to play out in it.

I took these pictures when I went out for a short walk on Sunday , and this is what it looks like now

My poor chooks are having to wade through it at the moment.
This was the view outside last night , so should have expected it I suppose.
I'm using the new blogger editor at the moment , but have to say I'm not likning it much so far . Probably because I'm not used to it though.
Happy Snow Day

Red Sky.

Thank you for your thoughts and wishes.
I spent some time with my Aunt and Uncle yesterday , and felt a little better afterwards. We should know more after tomorrow when my cousins' body can be released. The funeral is likely to be towards next weekend.
I haven't been able to concentrate on much this week , so I've only done a little bit of stitching. I'll show those at another point when they are finished. So , here's a picture of where I got to on Christmas Recipe. This was taken on Sunday for the SAL , but it hasn't been touched since.
I love sunsets ,and also love to take pictures. My husband thanks technology for digital cameras , as otherwise it would cost us a fortune on getting films developed. I took some pics the other week of a lovely sunset , so thought I'd show them on here.
These pics were taken just before dark the other day , I was fascinated that it could be so black in one part of the sky, and so light in another.
The row of lights you can see in the bottom right hand corner is cars on the M1 , and the hills in the distance are the start of the Peak District. And , finally , this was the view from my back door at 7.15 this morning.

Pretty huh?

Shame it is accompanied by a whole lot of wind , the chooks are holing up inside today , they don't like it when it's windy.

I have some more followers! Thanks , guys.

As this is my 32nd post(I think) I've decided that when I get to 50 posts , or 25 followers , whichever comes first , I will have giveaway.

Thanks for dropping by , Cath
