girl in the green scarfs

Definitely not Becky Bloomwood!

This is my own version of green scarfs, muslimah version because I'd prefer to address them as hijabs - which cover my head.

Well, I think people who are following my Instagram know about my little business on shawls last summer break. I was selling satin shawls from Egypt.

Ameerul definitely knows about this.

And my favourite of all is this emerald green colour which actually had caught many attentions from my friends. Also among those who had higher orders too at the particular time!

What happened was, upon my departure back to Egypt, Ameerul handed me this shopping paper bag with something in it. I was curious, of course. I looked into the bag to find a piece of green shawl covered in a plastic.

Emerald green! Wow, my favourite!

But err, it was satin.

Hahaha.

I had so many questions in my head at that time.

"Did he know that I've already owned one shawl in emerald green?"

"Did he know it is also a satin material like this?"

"Has he ever seen me in emerald green satin shawl before?"

"Okay, when did he buy this? He didn't tell me where he went!"

"Oh, wait, having two satin shawls in emerald green isn't a bad idea after all"

Okay, girls are complicated hahaha. Even though you knew you only had only a few hours left to spend your precious time together before you took off.

Of course, I said thank you and I was grateful. He said this one is different because this shawl has a curved end. (He meant a half moon shawl - mind his lack vocabulary in hijab-ness dictionary hahaha).

 My satin shawl

 His satin shawl

Can't really tell any difference right?

That's how it goes whenever each of us give each other a present. Our taste is so different in everything. Last year, he gave me a body lotion with sakura flower scent. I liked it, but if he could had give me softer scent then it would be really reallyyyyyy nicer hahaha. When he gave me a sling bag, but I'd never wore it hahaha sorry but he insisted it was a beautiful bag - which I stared at the bag for so long to find the beautiful side of the bag hmmm still couldn't find the beauty of that.

When I gifted him a Tshirt, he said he liked it and so gonna wear it. Yes, he wore it at night! During bedtime! God, that was expensive omg how dare you! I gave him a watch, he said, "This is so my grandpa's taste".

I didn't know that your grandpa has such swag taste, huh?

new member

I will be back in Malaysia in less than 3 months. Excited, no? And I'm pretty sure this summer break will be the exciting one. Because we are going to get a new family member!

My big brother is going to get married! First wedding in our family and of course they can't proceed to anything unless the loveliest of all is back from Egypt. Hahaha but I missed their engagement. Plus the time zone spoiled a lot. I only wake up when they'd done with the ceremony and I was celebrating alone on my bed seeing the pictures on Facebook and Whatsapp.

So, as for the wedding, they are patiently waiting for me to come back. I'm so special like that hahaha.

I personally haven't meet my future sister-in-law. Never once. Unlike the other family members. So they are talking about how good she is. How adorable she is. How lovely she is. How diligent she was in the kitchen helping my mom. So my mom likes her a lot.

I'm really looking forward to this. I'm excited okay. So my biggest contribution so far is... choosing my own outfit to the event.

And for the outfit, I know this uncle here that sews very very well. Hahaha he is one amazing tailor. I will just show him few pictures of the dress that I want him to follow, he nods and tell me to come a few days after to collect the dress. I find it amusing! Like he's a mind reader perhaps? Hahaha.

Emerald green

Lovely! I'm so in love with emerald green lately. The colour of elegance and brave, yet it still look soft and wild at the same time.

I don't really own that much of emerald green collection in my wardrobe. I don't know what happened, I've got attached to this colour so much these days. And I suddenly have an urge to start collecting emerald green clothes. Zzz so much influences!

But it's so beautiful, masyaallah. I mean, emerald green with lace is just enough to show how classy it is. It's never too striking for a formal event. Also, it's a symbol of confidence and brave. Whoever who wears emerald green pumps is just sexy! Haha.

Green is generally a symbol for a fresh things. And emerald green is included.

I just love it.

Syawal 2013 story

I'd done with my Ramadhan pretty well. My most productive Ramadhan so far. Productive in terms of never failed to wake up for sahur (that happened when I was fasting in mom's place), breaking fast on time (absolutely), terawikh and done with half part of Quran (yeaaa should be more). Alhamdulillah, still. At least, Allah has given me a strength and I'd managed to make most of it, especially with my family.

Coming to Syawal, exciting part yeahhh. Especially on raya outfit one. Sigh. My bad. I actually have this habit of scrolling on fashion sites (Hatta Dolmat, Jovian Mandagie, FashionValet, etc etc) but never gonna buy anything from them, cause apparently the petite me finds it so hard to get the outfits that will suits me well. So I love taking some inspirational from them, and adding some extra imaginational design on that.

That turned out to be like this...

Leopard print bottom and a plain mini kurung with gold roses lace. And it took me 2 days long to just sew the lace on. Slowpoke me. Well, you can add beads on the sewn lace if you like, I thought of doing so with few red/gold/yellow beads, but pleaseeee, 2 days was enough. My life wasn't only revolve around that bloody piece of kurung haha.

Wait, sweetest picture ever.

Ameerul and his mom.

I love the idea of having the lace of the scarf also. Like the one that Ameerul's mom has. Attractive and classy.

Colourful abaya

Right, we are approaching to summer. Which I'm so excited about! I'm starting to put my winter coat away to the very corner of my cupboard, sign of "I don't need you anymore, wohooo - it's the time to wear my colourful blouses back!"

Haha, very annoying this little girl.

Well they say summer here can be so hot, like you're being fried in a hot pan, every inch of your body is sweating, you're about to cry cause one fan is never get enough.

-___-

Sound not fun.

We are now on an early spring, so I'm thinking to get myself adapting to the summer soon, which I will wear abaya more often to school these days. Hahaha. And my uniform for summer will only be jeans and jeans and jeans. Maybe it's the time for my abayas to join my unwanted winter coats.

By the way, if you guys are interested in buying these kinds of abayas, I'm really free to take your orders. :)

Going peplum

I don't really own many peplum, but I seriously adore this invention. Like you have that sort of beautiful flowing thing right under your curved blouse. Very nice. I love the idea how it can make you look a lil bit thin and contrarily I'm not going to look too skinny though.

So I thought of having one cupboard of peplum blouse when I'm pregnant later. And I'm praying hard that this style will never goes out of time.

And I bought one here... (In case I will get fat, no one knows, lol)

And of course, there's a drama behind this. I was on my queue to the cashier counter with 3 clothes on my hand and my attention was distracted by a huge board showing those models wearing new arrivals, I was amazed by the way they had been dressed up, it was beautiful, (new arrivals will always amaze you, I swear, and you thought they were new ideas, which were actually not! Pfft.).

My friends were waiting for me to pay what I've bought, but I disappear when my turn was up. You know where I went?

I went searching for the peplum top that the model wore!

Wani istighfar few times when she saw me holding another new top to buy.

I istighfar too when I handed the cashier money. I was even tear up, you see.

I'm broke for the whole month then! My idea of having a cupboard of peplums is needed to be revised.

Floral pant

I still have the obsession towards floral printed pant.

And I have spotted this
.
.

Beautiful! I almost fainted. The moment I grabbed this, I thought myself as a lady with a great luck, like God has chosen you to be in such perfect situation, He met you with such great invention. You were selected!

"Oh my, I have to have this", I run my hands on it with a broad smile.

I showed this pant to my friends, and they were like,

"Are really going to buy this?"

"Hm, it would be nice if it's in the other colour".

"Where are going to wear this to? School?"

My response was, "Why? I think it's beautiful, perfect!"

Silence.

Fine! I was not buying this. 3 against 1, I lost!

Out of 4 people, only 1 agree with this pant, that's me, and if I wear this to school with the ratio of 1:3, only 1/3 of the students are going to love my pant and the other will just maybe laugh over it!

Pleaseeee.

That's the reason why I haven't even own one floral printed pant.

This makes me miss Malaysia. Gosh!

So close

I am really sorry if this post comes as a complaint but I don't really mean that actually, yet, honestly I don't mind if this post looks a lil bit like a rebuke or a reprimand or something, but yes yes yes I'm about to admonish about this
.
.

.. which I, myself was a little bit speechless too. I found this harsh, like you went into the shop and found a bag which had the same exact pattern like a blouse that you wore? As a customer, I felt so offensive. I mean how on earth do people have ever think of making a bag out of cloth scraps? How awful.

Few things to clarify. First, this was a designer cloth. It's a world wide company. I was expecting something like a special edition of it, cloth will only be cloth. Same goes to trousers. Unless they are planning to make them as a pair. Well, of course, sport suits are excepted. There's no such thing like a floral blouse with a floral bag. Ahh how disappointing.

Second, of course, you wouldn't wanna be looked like a fool wearing a blouse and having another people bringing those bags and accidentally meet up by any chance. Or maybe someone comes and tells you, "I saw a bag, just like your blouse".

(I experienced this. One year ago, I was wearing ThePopLook dress, wandering around the mall and I saw a girl wore the dress too, exactly like mine, green colour. I knew she noticed mine but we were pretending to not seeing each other, but I saw her boyfriend laughing and whispering into her ears while looking to my dress. My aunt laughed so hard too, sigh. But this was forgiven. It's a dress).

Third, it's about satisfaction. You spent 200LE for a blouse and guess what, you're getting your blouse a resemble set of fabric-material-bag? Tell me, are you really going to wear them together? To the park enjoying the spring, maybe? Funny, not.

*facepalm

Well, of course, I'm not going to bring this up to their customer services (like I always do to Celcom, RHB Bank and some public transportation companies), it's not that I'd like to complain or something, but apparently we have a right. I believe every companies have their own targets in satisfying their customers. If they don't do their things right, I don't think it's a wrong to make some complaints or suggestions, so they will improve.

Trust me, good companies will take their customers seriously. Of course, customers are like money to them.

So yeah, I'm still wearing the blouse.

Palazzo pant and flying fox

When they told us about the tentative of my orientation programme, I was like, wow, flying fox. Must be really fun. Never tried it before so this was really my first time.

I'm not afraid of height but I'm afraid of death and I believe that the higher you climb, the higher the tendency of you falling down, getting hurt and higher possibility of dying. Seriously, my most stupid hypothesis. But well, blame my science subject because it taught me to predict.

And it's not about height now. It's a about my pant.

I wasn't told about my schedule of flying fox turn, so I wore palazzo pant on that evening. Flying fox and palazzo pant are surely can never get along to each other.

This was what they call ukhuwah. Luckily, my friends voluntarily tied my pant so I won't step on it. Thanks guys. I owe you my life. Hehe.

Yeah, fashion victim ever but I was safe.

It was fun, I swear. No matter how scary it would be at first, it would end up being the most satisfied thing cause you're doing it by your own, yes with the help of those safety equipment.

The most important thing is I'm still alive now! :)

Bawal revolution

I didn't really wear bawal headscarf since my diploma life. So when I went to KPJ Tawakkal for an interview, one of HR people told me, "We wear tudung bawal here. No Tudung Ekin or shawl like you wear"

"Haa? No shawl?"

"Yes, no shawl".

That's when I started to wear bawal headscarf again. But, only during my work shifts!

And now, everyone is in bawal headscarf back. I don't know what happened. Most of my friends wear plain colour of bawal headscarf. Everyone is so crazy with AidiJuma. Rita Rudaini went to the court wearing an adorable bawal headscarf. Datin Juma looks so stunning in simple plain bawal headscarf.

Why guys?

So I tried wearing bawal headscarf again. Tell you what, I'm addicted to AidiJuma now.

I have more shawls compared to bawal headscarf. And I actually wear turban too. So I think it's really good to have more collection of shawls cause they function more than just a simple headscarf. They can be your body hugging blanket in cold environment or maybe just a simple head cover.

But I just can't resist the gorgeous temptation of AidiJuma's collection, so I think I must get myself some.

My name is Qistina and I'm a fashion crime. Hahaha.

Peacock

It can't fly. Or even walk. But I make it walks. Haha. I love the idea of how it combines to such attractive colours and the feather's shiny.

It's just hanging from my neck.

Beads

Welcome 2 days off. Wohoo. And my salary is about to out tomorrow. We'll see how I manage with this this time. Hee. I've made a list about what to do, what to buy, so, I'm sort of attached to it.

But, I don't trust my own budget. So, why bother much about following the list. It's much less giving you  pressure on what to buy and what's not. Kind of having a strict discipline in buying things. Pleaseee. Life is more than about facing a pressure, so avoid them, that's the best. My point is, buy everything that you want. I'll guarantee you happiness. LOL. Kill me! :p

Annoying

This picture above was taken during my convocation day and I posted it on my Facebook, anddd to my utter surprise my friends commented on it, telling my face was a bit like Wawa Zainal. Oh God. You know Wawa Zainal? Never mind. You can always Google it up (because I did Google it too). Hahaha. Well, who knows just in case if they just wanna tease me, for actually Wawa Zainal doesn't have a nose, who knows. But thank God, Wawa Zainal was just fine. Lololol!

And someone was being all jealous and envy me, so Shushy posted this to my Twitter,

Ha Ha Ha. Crazy. She said again, "I don't get why people said so". So I replied, "Because obviously people do have a good taste, unlike you". Gosh, I did it for purpose to make her sakit hati. Haha.

But still, I love her. Who doesn't love her best friend?

Because she is all that I have. I remember one time ago, when I was outside doing my passport and I knew ThePopLook was going to update their new stocks but obviously I couldn't went online since I was in the middle of settling up my thing so I called her all the way just to ask her to describe everything.

She was like, "Ya Allah, semata-mata?"

Me, "Please, I'm so desperate".

Shushy, "You've never changed".

Me, "Yes, please. Do click 'What's New' tab and look for a dress with light brown colour named Colour Block Maxi".

2 minutes later..

Shushy, "I couldn't find any".

Me, "Loser. Haaaa!"

This dress, I'd really want this. I'd waited for this for almost 1 month. Sigh. So, when I was online obviously it was already sold out. I know it's hurt. Never mind. But I kept waiting for them to restock this back (I refreshed this website every 5 minutes and I knew I was so lucky when I saw it's still in stock).

Didn't wanna waste my time, so I bought this. Haha. Am so fragile, I'm sorry.

Shushy knew this dress was already sold out so she was pretty shocked when I've managed to still buy this dress.

She asked me, "How you do that?"

I said, "You know, sometimes people were born with a great luck, and one of them is me. Haha".

Euw, I'm so annoying! Hahaha. Hate me now!

Of a Palazzo Pant

I saw this on the online shop and I bought it.

Because I found this unique and cute. Not because I wanna be one of those unique fashion crimes, but please, sometimes we have to give people a try. Why don't we?

Though I had no idea what to match this pant with, what handbag should I paired it with, but I was still happy and stupidly felt so nervous waiting it to arrive from the day I bought it.

Since I was staying at UiTM hostel during my visit to Penang, so everytime I wanna go out, I should met a lot of UiTM students but I kept pretending as if I was still a student there. No one recognized me. But when I wore this pant, why was everybody kept staring at me?! As though I didn't wore anything!

And Ameerul said, " You walk far far away from me lah okay". This man's crazy!

Shushy said, " Oh wow, you actually wear that pant "

Shushy's guy friend said, " Qis, that pant. Haha. What's UiTM students said? Hahaha".

Seriously, you guys.

But I love it. Who cares? :)
