Turn an old box into Mixed Media Art!

Hi there everyone!

I'm up on the Limor Webber Designs Blog today!
Here's a Mixed Media Box I decorated out of a Levis belt box. I just love how you can use things in your home that you'd normally throw away and turn it into art!
The Sentiment is From Jamie Dougherty's Bloom Girl Anneli.

I really love all of the textures on this box. In the video below you can learn how I layer all of these elements. Sometimes Mixed Media can be a little intimidating when you see a busy project and don't know where to begin or what to do first, such as painting or stamping adding texture paste, etc.

Here's a video tutorial of me creating this little box and all the different stages and textures you build upon. I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to create your own Mixed Media art!

Enjoy!

Limor Webber Mixed Media Card!

Hello Everyone, Today I have a pretty simple card to show you. It's a mixed media type card. I really love the way it turned out. It was simple and yet so many different textures and elements. Really a fun card!

I love all of the height and dimension from the stickers and the flowers.. leaving a small shadow on the colorful splatter under them.

If you ever want to add a little height and weight to your card all you need to do is glue a square of cardstock under the first layer. It adds dimension and gives your card sturdiness.

Enjoy the video!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve.
We are having Christmas at my house this year and I'm really excited about it.

Yesterday I cleaned.
Today I'm going to be setting up the tables.
Right now Ralph's making me breakfast. :)
Kids are barely getting up.. well the teenage boy isn't.

Today I'm off and I will have to get up and be at work in the morning at 5am. I hope this will be the last year I have to work on Christmas. That's what I want for Christmas!

Good things are happening in 2015! I can feel it.

Here's an ornament I made using the Julie Nutting wooden ornaments. I painted it with acrylic paints and embossed in gold and used crackle accents a the new Prima Finnabair glitter. I really LOVE the way it came out. The photos really doesn't do it justice.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Create your own December Daily!

Hi there everyone. It's time for my post on the Limor Webber Blog!

I decided to make my own December Daily. I love the way it came out. I just plan on typing out my daily dos and layering them on the page. Simple but it will get done this year!  Here's some photos and there's a video below. Check it out!

I also took the little mini files that come with the card boxes from Michaels and added them as pages, just for another type of element to the pages.

Mixed Media Card Class at This n That!

Hi everyone!

I have gotten a tiny bit behind on posting and well everything since my trip to Puerto Rico.
I hope after this weekend I'll be caught up. Since coming back I have had only 2 days (in 2 weeks) and trying to prepare for 3 local classes, it was my sons Birthday and we had a surprise party oh yeah and Halloween! So it's been a little hectic. I will bounce back. Promise!

Here's a card using a Julie Nutting Stamp that I made for my Class at This n That. That class is THIS Wednesday and it's just about full! So it will be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see my regular girlies and some new faces, too! This class we going to be coloring using Copics and also creating this gorgeous Mixed Media background. The photo really doesn't do it justice!

I'll be posting some photos from my trip soon, too.

Now let's get inspired and start hoppin'

Here's my project. I used 3 of my favorite Bloom Girl Stamps, Summer, Gardenia and Jing. I stamped them on kraft cardstock and then I used my Faber-Castell Water Colored Pencils for the pops of pink in the stamped flowers. I really love the way this came out. I had seen a collage of inspirational words on a canvas and I loved the way it looked so I sort of interpreted that in my own way with this card. Then I stamped a matching candle. Such a cute little gift set, don't you think?

I hope you enjoy our hop! Good Luck with the give-a-way!

Limor Webber Designs FIRST DT post!

Hello everyone!!
Today is a very exciting day! It's my first post on Limor Webber's Design Team! I couldn't be more happier to be apart of this! :o)

I decided to make a canvas for my first project. I took the colors out of my daughters' comforters and then matched them to my Gelatos®.

First I laid a coat of white Gesso, then I created a rainbow using my Gelatos®  and at first it was very bold and the color was a little too bold compared to my girls' room. So I added more water and blotted the canvas until it lightened. Once it was dry I took my Gelatos® Double Scoop® Color – Black Licorice and went around the entire canvas, I used my finger and pulled some of the black into the rainbow in the same direction. I used the Prima “Bubbles” Stencil  and added bubbles with some molding paste. I shaved off some of all of the Gelatos® and added just a little bit of water over each of the shavings. Then I used my heat tool over them and it was such a cool effect! It bubbled and expanded and left some great texture to the canvas!

I added my quote in some sticker letters and then decided to add some Tim Holtz Rub Ons, Crystal Circles. Then I got out this amazing stamp, IndigoBlu Bubbles Background and stamped all around the canvas and also on the wooden butterflies. I was just about finished and I wanted my bubbles to pop out a little more so I took my Water-colored pencils and traced some of the larger bubbles to define them a little.

One more thing I just HAD to add -- Glass Bead Glitter Gel.. just a little on the bubbles!

I really LOVE this and so do my girls. I hope you all like it!
Have a wonderful day!

Lili of the Valley and Gelatos PLUS a Tutorial!

Hi there all my crafty blog peeps!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I got home a little early from work and was able to sit and play a little. I'm trying to get some new ideas going for my classes and try to expand my little creative mind a little...It sure is nice to explore all of these new craft items I'm not used to. I'm like a little kid in candy store..
I sure do love these Gelatos® by Faber-Castell. I decided to do a little 'How To' for you all.
So, I hope you enjoy it!

I took my Lili of the Valley Grunge Elements Stamps. and stamped a few of them randomly all over my 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 white cardstock with some versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Then I took my Faber-Castell Gelatos® and scribbled the Pistachio Gelatos® over where the leaves are. Then, I scribbled the Butter Cream Gelatos® over the flowers. along the edges and around the butterflies I scribbled Acqua Dolce Gelatos®.

I dabbed a little water on my finger and in a circular motion I spread the Acqua Dolce color around the butterflies, first. Then I wiped off my finger and again dabbed in water and smudged the Pistachio color. Last, I did the Butter cream. With the remaining coloring left on my finger from the Butter Cream, I added a little color around the butterflies.

Wait a few minutes for it to dry and then wipe the embossed area with a paper towel. This will remove the color leaving the white outline. a stunning effect, LOVE it!!

Then I took some Whipped Spackle and added some to the center and around the embossed butterflies. Then I took my little poker pen and made some swirls in the Whipped Spackle.

I decided I wanted to break up the pattern a little so I cut this into 4 squares and put a white mat behind each piece. I also added some faux stitching around each square.

After applying then to my card base with the foam dots I decided to take some Glass Bead Glitter Gel and mix some of the Acqua Dolce Gelatos® into it making this gorgeous color that you will just love! I then added this to the corners of my card.

I used my Spellbinders Dies and my Lili of the Valley Quotables for the sentiment. I added some of my Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, ribbon and lace... and voila!
