Greetings friends. I wanted to share some cards using bee stamps and stencils from the new April release. They are so much fun to use on cards!

For my first card, I used the new Hex Clusters stencil with sponged oranges and yellows to create a honeycomb background. I then stamped my bees directly onto the card with black Impression Obsession ink, colored them with Prismacolor pencils, then stamped them again with the same black ink so that the lines of the bees would be nice and dark. I had to use a stamp positioner to be able to do the overstamping.

To finish the card, I cut out my scalloped circle, added a sentiment and popped it up onto the card.

For the second card, I wanted to move away some from the yellows, black and oranges, so I used a blue color palette. The background uses the same Hex Clusters. It was then placed behind the Inverted Scalloped Circle die, which served as a frame. Finally, I cut out my bee items and colored them with Copic markers.

This is what the Sweet As Honey die set looks like:

Of course, there are also coordinating dies available.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Greetings friends. Are you ready for a little Christmas in July? The Impression Obsession July Red Rubber kit has been released, and it is full of vintage Christmas images.

For my card, I was really drawn to the wreath. It was really quick and easy to color. The stamp itself has detail lines that show you where to add a little shading. I stamped the wreath in black ink using a stamp positioner. I then colored it with a variety of green prismacolor pencils. Note- I just added random squiggles of color to the wreath. If you tried to color each leaf individually, it would drive you crazy.I chose pencils that were almost chartreuse to ones that were closer to a blue spruce. Here is a close up so that you can see the various greens better:

I then colored the ribbon with two different reds, making sure to color the darker red in areas that were supposed to be shaded.

To finish the card, I used the Mini Gingham cover a card image to stamp my own background. I thought the gingham worked well with the vintage feel of the wreath. I then stamped my sentiment from the July kit onto a tag and popped up the words using some foam tape. As a last touch, I included some red adhesive pearls to look like berries.

These are the images in the July kit:

Greetings friends! I went with an older clear set favorite called "Cupcakes." Who doesn't like cupcakes? I tend to use them year-round in my stamping, so they are also very practical.

To make the card, I stamped my cupcake tower onto white cardstock in black Memento ink and colored it with Copic markers. I then added a few extra details with some colored pencils. I then cut out by circles with some layering circle dies.

For the background, I stamped the Faceted Cover a card background onto white cardstock using IO Taupe ink. I wanted the lines to be less harsh than black, so I chose the grey instead. Next, I colored some of the areas using Prismacolor pencils.

To finish the card, I added my sentiment from the same set and popped up a cupcake that I fussy cut by hand.

IO Theme Day- Square Cards

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects! This month’s theme is square cards!

Have fun checking out what our Designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Greetings friends. For today's square card theme, I decided to use stamps and dies from the May card kit. When I make a square card, I like to use a standard sized envelope so that postage won't be extra. One of the benefits of making a smaller square card that fits in an A2 envelope is that you can have some of the elements stick off the side of the card and it will still fit in the envelope.

For today's card, I stamped the flower and hummingbird onto kraft cardstock using black ink. When the ink was dry, I colored everything with Prismacolor pencils and then placed my images back in to my stamp positioner to restamp everything. It's nice that you can add the details back in to the color since the waxiness of the pencils makes the image lines harder to see.

I die cut my hummingbird and then popped him up onto the card using foam tape. The background frame has nine open windows to it, but I just glued my flower on top of the open windows and left the scalloped frame showing. I like to get more use out of my dies. Here is a close up:

Greetings friends! I am so excited about the latest release because there are quite a few new stamps that are perfect for making projects for your crafty friends. If you were thinking about making stocking stuffers or cards for your crafty friends this year, you might want to give them a look.

For my card today, I wanted to use the cute new create stamp that is filled with all kinds of crafty tools. I made it into a card, but I really can see it used to stamp onto envelopes.

To make the card, I went through my watercolor scraps and cut out wavy lines to make stripes for the cards. Once I glued them down onto white cardstock, I stamped my image and colored it with some Prismacolor pencils. It was a quick and easy card, and I was pleased that it was an excuse to use some of my scraps. To finish the card, I added a few round dimensional stickers to the side.

IO Theme Day- Red, White and Blue

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects! This month’s theme is red, white and blue!

Have fun checking out what our designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog

Greetings friends. Last week I shared a 4th of July card, which of course, was red, white and blue in color. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to make a card with the color scheme that wasn't also a card for the 4th. I chose to use fruit because I like the bright red of the berries and the current themed sale on the IO Website is "fruit," so the stamp and dies I used are 25% off through the end of June.

To make the card, I stamped my cupcake onto white cardstock using black Memento ink and then colored it with Copic markers and shaded it with a little Prismacolor pencil. I fussy cut the cupcake, added a little glitter and popped it up onto the card with some foam tape. Here is a close up:

To finish my card, I die cut some small strawberries and added my sentiment.

What about your guys? What kind of cards do you make with a red, white and blue theme?

IO Theme Day- In the Garden

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects! This month’s theme is "In the Garden."  Have fun checking out what our designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog

Greetings friends. Today I want to share a clean and simple card that is also very quick and easy to make. I started by placing the daisy into a stamp positioner and then stamping it onto a pale yellow card using black Memento ink. I let it dry and then colored the flower with Prismacolor pencils. Next, I placed the card back into the stamp positioner and stamped it once again with the black ink. Hint...stamping the image twice gives you bolder lines since the colored pencils cover up some of the lines from the first stamping. To finish the card, I added my sentiment and some rhinestones.

Impression Obsession- Old is New Featuring the Floral Egg

Greetings friends.  I wanted to share a card that was a long time in the making.  I started coloring it years ago after my mom and I went to a Fabergé egg exhibit.  Then I continued it when I thought I would make it into an Easter card.  I was finally encouraged to finish it as I am participating in the 30 Day Coloring challenge.  It seemed like the perfect project.  I shared the coloring on Instagram (username stampjournal if you want to find me), and I thought I should share the finished card on my blog:

To make the card, I stamped the Floral Egg onto white cardstock with black ink and then colored it with Copic markers.  I then added a bit more shading using Prismacolor pencils.  I edged the outside with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and then layered it onto a background created with the Retro Circle Cover a Card.
