IO Theme Day- Birthdays

Greetings friends. We are celebrating birthday ideas with the IO designers. After all, who doesn't need birthday card ideas? Here is a list of all the participating designers:

For my card today, I made a shaker card using a clear stamp set called "The Coolest."

I like the stamp set because it is loaded with all kinds of sweet treats to color. To make the card, I cut out my Rounded Square with the stitched border out of a square of white cardstock. I then placed some acetate behind the rounded square to create a window. Next, I added a foam tape border behind the sides of the frame and loaded it with Neapolitan colors of sequins. The foam tape served as a barrier to keep the sequins from escaping and popped the frame up onto my card.

For the background, I used pink and brown cardstock to further the Neapolitan ice cream look.

To finish the card, I added my ice cream cones and sentiment to the top of the acetate.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

IO Theme- Birthday Cards

Greetings friends. It is time for another theme, and this time the theme is "Birthdays." If you would like to see a list of all the participating designers who are sharing birthday card samples, you can find them in order on the Impression Obsession blog.

Here is the list of the designers on the hop:

Greetings friends. Today the IO design team are sharing birthday card ideas. I don't know about you, but I always need birthday card inspiration (as well as a reminder to send them out on time). For my cards today, I used some of the latest papers and dies and tried to make cards that were suitable to send to anyone.

Both cards use patterned paper from the Grunge Paint paper pack, which looks like this:

I love the abstract designs and the colors pretty much go with anything.

For the first card, I cut out part of the "happy birthday" using the same patterned paper and part of the sentiment with black cardstock. Next, I added a balloon that coordinated with the patterned paper and added some highlights with a white gel pen.

For my second card, I used the same paper and dies and added some dot texture to the side of the card. I thought the grunge look of that border matched well with the grunge look of the paper.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you find some inspiration in all of the designers' samples.

Greetings Friends. Today we are going to focus on birthday cards. After all, who doesn't need birthday cards on hand? For both of the cards, I used a new stamp set called Can Can Candles. It is a lot of fun and looks like this:

For the first card, I matched it with the Grunge paper pack, which frankly looked like a party to me:

I colored the images with Copic markers with the Inside Out Square Frame die. I thought the stitches served as a nice frame from the dancing candles.

For the second card, I used paper from the new Stars and Stripes paper pack. It has papers that work well for patriotic cards as well as more subtle designs that work well for general occasions. I love when things are practical:

I colored the cake with Copic markers and added a bit of "glow" around the candles with yellow chalk. My brads weren't quite the color I wanted, so I colored the tops with Navy Sharpie marker.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Greetings friends. I am sharing a second card using the Birthday Hugs set.

To make the card, I created a background using the confetti stencil and some purple, blue and green ink. The cake and candles were colored with Copic markers and then I added some pattern to them using various stencils from the set. To finish the card, I added glitter glue to the flames and my sentiment in black ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Greetings friends. The new March bundle is loaded with stamps, coordinating dies and coordinating stencils to make birthday cards. I can't think of a better bundle in that I am always in need of birthday cards:

The stamps look like this:

The stamps come with coordinating dies as well as coordinating stencils:

I love the stencils because they have smaller designs for cardmaking and they come on ring to help keep them organized.

The bundle comes with a price discount, but you can also buy the stamps and stencils individually.

For my card, I started with the stars stencil to add a yellow and orange background to white cardstock. I stamped my candles with black Memento ink and then colored them with Copic markers. I wanted to add a bit of pattern to the candles, so I chose the thin striped stencil to do the job. To finish the card, I added glitter glue to the flames for sparkle and added my sentiment in black ink.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will stop by tomorrow for another birthday sample using the bundle.

Impression Obsession Die Days

We have set aside a day to share some fabulous Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what our designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Greetings friends. On this die cut day, I thought I would share a birthday shaker card. It uses the Balloon Tag die, which includes both the shaker and balloon:

To make the card, I cut out the tag multiple times using white cardstock as well as several layers cut from foam to give me depth. I layered all of the pieces together and added the confetti before attaching the top cardstock layer and acetate. Of course, I had to add extra embellishments such as epoxy stickers and thin washi tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession

Greetings friends. We have set aside a day to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what our Designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Today I wanted to share a birthday card with everyone. After all, who doesn't need birthday cards on hand? It uses the new Party Hat die. I like this die because it can be used for birthday cards for pretty much anyone from age 1-100.

To make the card, I started by creating a background using a striped stencil on top of kraft cardstock. I sponged it with Distress Oxide inks and then spritzed the whole thing to give it a speckled appearance.

Next, I cut out my hat die using teal cardstock and popped the bottom part up with foam tape to add a little dimension. All that was left was to add my birthday message.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Greetings friends. Today I am sharing a card with this super-cute puppy. I just love him! Of course, I was also happy that IO came out with a new clear stamp set featuring animal puns that coordinated so well with this card. You know I love my puns!

To make the card, I stamped my dog onto white cardstock with black Memento ink and highlighted him a bit with some Copic markers. There really wasn't a lot of coloring to do. I then stamped and colored his party hat and cut out both pieces by hand. I then layered them on top of some patterned plaid paper and added my balloon and sentiment. Party!

PS...these are the sentiments that come in the "punny" set:

Greetings friends.  Today there isn't much of a theme for my cards....perhaps blue?  Anyway, I wanted to share a couple of images that I really enjoyed coloring.

In the first card, I used the new Floral Cake Slice and stamped it onto 140lb watercolor paper with some black Versafine ink.  I then colored it with an assortment of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush.  Around the edges of the watercolor paper, I sponged it with some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink.  Here is a closeup:

For my second card, I used a new car image as well as one of the new license plate options.  I listed the other license plates at the bottom of my post in case you want to see all the options for creating a vanity plate::

I would like to point out that I used the same Cover a Card stamp I posted on Monday for the lemonade card.  Doesn't it look so different in blue?

For coloring the card, I stamped it in black Memento ink onto Copic XPress It paper and then colored it with an assortment of Copic markers:

All that remained was to use a sentiment from the Words for Art stamp set that was inked onto one of the latest banner dies.

IO Challenge- All that Glitters

Greetings friends.  Today's challenge is all about glitter.  Normally when I use glitter on a card, I put an intricate die cut onto strong, sticky tape and then add white glitter on top of all the open areas.  That then allows me to color the glitter with any color of Copic marker I choose.

Today I decided to go much simpler and to use up some of all my glitter tape scraps.  To make the card, I cut out my happy birthday sentiment and stuck it onto a strip of double stick tape.  Then I covered it with dark blue glitter.  For the rest of the decoration, I added strips of tape in varying widths and covered them with an assortment of glitters.   Here is a close-up of the card to see the sparkle better:

The nice thing about the card is that it uses up scraps, it is fast to make, and you can easily adapt it for the recipient using colors that they will like.

I also wanted to talk a bit about the sentiment die I used.  It is from the Greetings Top Edgers set.  The set includes dies that say happy birthday, thinking of you, and thanks so much.  When you cut out the die, it leaves the cardstock attached at the bottom to layer onto the card.  Normally I leave the sentiment attached to the cardstock, but for this card, I chose to cut it off so that it would fit onto the tape strip.  Here is a close up of what it looks like when you die cut the sentiment:
