Yeah! Augh! Yeah! Augh! or NaNo Day 17

Word Count: 25,275 - Broke the half way mark! Yeah! Still behind, but maintaining at least :)

Mood: Up and Down for sure. Yesterday, in the middle of class I figured out a major plot point for my novel. I was so excited beyond all reason and I had to SIT IN CLASS for 2 hours and then drive over an hour home and then eat something before my stomach ate itself and then. ALL motivation gone. Managed to crank out a couple thousand words by forcing myself to sit down and just write. Like where it's heading, but today I look at where I left off and don't know where to go next. So I'm back to the blah part. I really just want to crank out the roughness of this rough draft so I can then go back and figure out what pieces are missing. I love this story and I really want to see it developed, but this is the first time ever that I've been more excited about the prospects of revising than I am about the idea of drafting.

Surprises: The random woman that appeared a while back turned out to be the key to my whole entire plot. Funny how that happens!

This is Not a Post

I need to organize my time better, because I KNOW that some of you are just as if not more busy (busier? Yeah, I'm the English professor screwing up her grammar. Whatever :) than I am. So I have no real excuse.

So I'll just say I'm sorry and promise to pop in really soon. I have some really fun things and EXCITING news (well, exciting to me, but I will plague you with it too) and other randomness I've been wanting to share. And it is ON MY LIST of things to do. I PROMISE.

I will leave off plaguing you with all of the capital letters and find time to visit some of y'all very soon.

Um, yeah, so

I'm going to be MIA this week.

I know. Lame sauce.

But it's for a good reason. I'm going on vacation to some friends in Virginia. I could use the recharge before I hit a straight month of liquidation insanity at work.

I may pop in briefly on Wednesday if I am so inspired, but otherwise I will be delightfully unavailable. Pool, family, friends, and some good books :)

Thanks to all of you that stick around and read my ramblings and especially to those that let me know you stop by. I think I would've given this up a while ago if it weren't for all of you. <3

Just a quick note to say that there will not be a post today. Ahem. I had all intentions of doing it, but Naomi and I leave tomorrow morning for Canada, and I'm doing a slideshow of my trip to Italy for our Ladies' Fellowship group at church tonight. And I kinda haven't finished it yet.

no new posts until Tuesday probably, since I will be mostly interweb free all weekend. But be ready for next week because I'll have all KINDS of goodies to share with you! All. Kinds.

And stuff about the panels at Polaris. I'm a panelist on one about the genre of YA and how it's developed over the years and where it's going. I'm scared and super excited at the same time.

And stuff about our sightseeing in Toronto where we will be dorks and have a blast.

Two for Tuesday: Lame Edition

I woke up and realized I hadn't written a post for today. And that I had NO idea what I wanted to write about. But I'm trying to keep myself on schedule for the summer so I had to do something.

So here are 2 random facts about myself:

1. I hate talking on the phone. Like with a passion. Like I will do anything to avoid calling someone. Or answering the phone. Or whatever. I would rather text, e-mail, wait until I see them, smoke signals would be better than talking on the phone.

2. I have about a trillion stuffed bears. I got one for every Christmas since I was born until last year. And I bought them for myself. I named them (almost all) with names that started with "B" such as Bernard, Belinda, Boo, Betsy, Bob, and so on.
