DH will be 50 tomorrow
and Norway has it's "birthday" or Day of Liberty so everybody is outsides celebrating, with national costumes, norwegian flags , music and hopefully some nice weather.
In the evening we'll be 16 people here for supper.

I am doing the part 4 my own way too. Had some triangel-paper - telling finished blocks 3" (they became 3,5" and will be 3 when sewn together)

Funny Trees

Thanks to Mary I got the idea of what to do with the secret quilt. I had to add 4 blocks, and wanted to make then different from the ones made by the kids. So I made some trees, here are the ones in Mary's blog.

Veranda before and after

Seems cleaning wood and oiling has been my new hobby for a while.
The veranda got new floor last year, and we didn't oil it then. So now i first had to clean it, and give it two layers of oil. Since the big grill is standing out ther I had to divide the job in two.
After I finished the veranda-floor, I started on the outdoor stairs. They where really bad, after 18 years of just a small vash, and then new oil. It took me 6 times of removing oil, but still it wasn't good, so i sanded the stairs, still not good , so i bougth some oil with a little color added. Was supposed to be a little bit more green, but this will have to do for now.


Det virker som rengjøring, oljing og pussing har blitt min nye hobby. I to uker nå har jeg holdt på med verandagolv og ute-trappa. Førstnevnte ble lagt nytt i fjor, men siden impregnert trevirke må lufte seg litt før oljing, ja så ble det for seint på høsten , og så måtte jeg ta det igjen nå. Det var ikke smart, golvet var blitt helt svart i løpet av vinteren, så her var det på med kraftvask i to omganger før oljinga. Og siden den digre grillen står der ute, måtte jeg dele opp oljinga i to porsjoner. Vel vel, den er nå omsider ferdig.

Så var det på med rensing på trappa. Seks omganger tok det å fjerne all den gamle oljen, men fortsatt var det ikke bra. 18 år med kun lett vask og derpå følgende olje blir ikke bra i lengda. Så gikk jeg på med pussemaskin, men fikk det ikke helt bra da heller, så da ble det innkjøpt olje med litt farve (Strå). Den ble ikke akkurat som jeg hadde trodd - trodde den skulle bli litt mere grønn, men det får duge for nå.

Charity-quilts

At the quilt-guild last wednesdays, these quilts were given to the charity cause we have here I town. All of them made by two or more persons.

På siste quiltelagsmøte kom disse teppene inn til teppeaksjonen. Vi samler inn tepper til de langtidssyke barna på St.Olavs Hospital. Jeg er en av kontaktpersonene, så har du ett teppe du ønsker å gi er det bar å ta kontakt. Barna som ligger på den avdelingen er fra både sør-og Nord-Trøndelag, og fra Møre og Romsdal.
Alle teppene er laget av minst to personer, så her er det fritt fram for litt dugnad.

Friday evening snack

We went shopping tonigth , my oldest daugther and me - so I just wanted to share the goodies we had this evening. Youngest one couldn't understand there was no sweets on the table.

The postman came by

and he had some things to deliver
First out - some days ago, there as a thick envelope from Merete


Today there was a smaller envelope from the Netherlands, had been opened by customs, but I guess all it's contens came through. Both of these contained some pieces of home-dyed fabrcs, I have to figure out something nice to make of them.




And at the post-office today, a very nice handbag made for me by my very good friend Sigrun. Thanks a lot!

Lately

I have mostly been working outsides, but managed to get some sewingtime in the evenings.

So I quilted two quilts for charity - tops made by Ruth. Will show those in the next post, together with two recived tonigth for the same charity purpose

Sunday I appliqued (by machine) the smaller parts on the placemats from AnnAKa, and hand-sewed the bindings to the last 4 of them while watching a movie on TV.
