XO~XO

Laura has received the Valentine Exchange I made her for the HoE. I really had a lot of fun making this little pincushion :)

Hugs and Kisses freebie by

Erica Michaels

fabric: 32ct cream Belfast Linen

fibers: GAST and WDW, my selection

filled with poly-pellets

For a special touch: a ribbon tag :)

I haven't been able to locate this freebie online. Does anyone know if it's still available? You can see the extras I sent on Laura's blog. I thought I was cutting back on my committments, but January has me seeing 2 exchanges and 2 gifts, LOL! Ah well, keeps me out of trouble (sort of!)

I finished the green vest. Just need to sew the button on. So stay tuned. Sending you all a little Colorado sunshine...Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!

A small sigh of relief

Nela just let me know that the HoE Floss Tag exchange has finally reached her. I was really worrying over this one because I mailed it on Halloween! I'm glad I don't have to stitch a replacement because I really liked it (even though the big tag is a little too big.)

We found out this week that my dad has prostate cancer...it's very small and very early, so completely treatable. But still scary. Anytime you hear the "C" word, it's scary. My dad has a great attitude about it and I know that God will get us through this speed bump. Many hugs to all of you...

Exchanges

I had Carol's name for the HoE Prairie Schooler exchange. I admit being a little intimidated to stitch for Carol......she's a gifted stitcher and finisher and she's prolific in the world of exchanges (AND she's the moderator for the HoE, lol.) I fretted and fussed, trying to figure out a Prairie Schooler that she hadn't rec'd (and Carol, your archives don't go back far enough!) In the end, I decided to do a finish that she hasn't received very many of. I didn't take a pic of the extras I sent but you can see them on Carol's blog :)

Mairi received her squares for Round 8 of the Fair Squares a couple of weeks ago. They ended up being in her favorite colors, hurray!

Well folks, that's it for me. I started a little fall housecleaning today so I'm a little pooped. I've just made a fresh pot of coffee, so I'm going to grab a cup and plop down on the sofa to watch Sunday Night Football with Hubby. And if my eyes can stay open, I just may stitch a little ;)

1 over 1 Stitching

Kudos to the postal service! I mailed 2 exchanges on the 16th; one to Canada and one to Belgium, and they both arrived at their destinations Friday :)

The first one is the Xmas in July ornie exchange for Chantal. I love this little freebie pattern from Aurelle and I've stitched it many times. This was the first time I stitched it over 1, and I must say I was really pleased with the results!!!

The second exchange was the Hooked on Exchanging LHN exchange for Irene. I used parts of Thread Gathering and stitched it over 1 on my own hand-dyed 22ct hardanger. I was really worried that Irene would be disappointed that I didn't stitch a full design, especially after I started seeing some of the wonderful finishes that were being sent/rec'd! But thankfully she likes it :)

I'm still stitching away on exchanges ;) I mailed one Sat, have one ready to mail tomorrow and working on another! Hope you're having a great weekend, thanks for visiting me and my little 'ol blog!!!

HoE for Margaret S!

Margaret has received the pinkeep I made her for the Hooked on Exchanging freebie exchange...

a mon ami Pierre: Stitcher Hornbook

fabric: 32ct evenweave remnant (I think)

fiber: DMC 310

I haven't done much stitching this past week, but I did get my F&S round 7 mailed to Dani today. In addition to my 3 kiddos, I'm babysitting a 5yr old boy for the summer. So with 3 boys aged 5-8 with me, I don't think I'll be getting as much stitching done this summer as I thought, LOL ;)

HoE for Deanne J

Deanne received the pinkeep that I made her for the Hooked on Exchanging pinkeep exchange. I'm relieved, I was beginning to think it had gotten lost as another package I mailed to Canada at the same time arrived over a week ago! I was a little unsure what to stitch Deanne, so chose this design by LHN because exchanges seem like extending a hand in friendship.

It was my first time putting a pocket on the back......and I'm pleased how it turned out. I can see myself making more 'pocket pinkeeps' in the future :) And I love that chocolate emergency kit! That it contains Dove chocolates is only half the attraction, it's a tin!

Tomorrow night's the deadline for the drawing!!! Leave a comment on last Thursday's post to have your name included :) The weekend's almost here~~TGIF everyone!!!
