PIF for Su

Su emailed me today and let me know that she's received her PIF. And she likes it! Whew! I was really nervous to make something for Su...she is such a talented needleworker and everything she makes is absolutely gorgeous :)

I've heard from Pam that she's received her PIF (thank you Pam for your sweet note!) So there's only one more to account for. I've been doing lots of stitching and knitting (when I have time, lol!) So I'll be back soon with a wip report.

Have a terrific day everyone and thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments. Sending you all a little Colorado Sunshine!

Floss Tags on Friday

I mailed my last two PIFs last Friday and they should have reached their new homes by now (I hope they're not lost!!!) I made floss tags...I'm just like a broken record, second verse same as the first!

This is Melissa's PIF:

I mailed Su's PIF out a week ago Wednesday, but as it has to cross the pond, it may not be there quite yet. And Becky's ornament should be arriving to her any day now. And then all of my committment stitching is COMPLETE! What a great feeling that is!!! I can go wherever my whim takes me...guilt free, lol!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned, dear friends. Ours should be busy, but fun! Til next time...

They've all been received

So now I can show you what was in the PIF packages :)

I know, how un-original...floss tags. Are you tired of them?

And a close up of the scissors with their tags.
I love this grosgrain ribbon.
The letters remind me of old fashioned typeface.
I sewed vintage metal buttons from my stash to hold the ends together.
(The pictures should be clickable for a closer view.)

Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods :)
The weekend is so close, I can almost taste it!

Went to the post office today

to mail out my first set of PIF's! The 3 staying in the States should arrive in 2-3 days :) Hopefully the one going to Canada will arrive under the 2 week mark.

A little bit of everything

Today was the first day of school in my neck of the woods, and by all reports a good day for all! After a busy and noisy summer, the quiet today was wonderful!!! Youngest is a big first-grader this year......thus ending 5 straight years of going back to school every 2-3 hrs to pick up kiddos :)

Since I didn't have to spend my day acting as diner, taxi, hotel, entertainer, referee and sheriff...I got a few things finished :)

Fall freebie by
Homespun Elegance
fabric: 32ct lambswool linen
fibers: WDW, GAST, DMC~~my own selection

This was so quick and fun. Just what the Dr. ordered after seeing others stitching cute fall/halloween stuff. I photographed them with my Putfords so you can see it's kind of a small tag.

And I've knit the world's ugliest socks. This is some unknown sportweight (non-striping, just variegated) in Oldest's favorite colors, knit as anklets (her fave sock.) She loves them and thinks they're "cool", I think they're hideous and would've just as soon thrown them away...

48st basic sock
women's size small
unknown sportweight yarn
Lantern Moon size 3 dpn's

I signed up for a PIF with Ginger at Primitives by the Light of the Moon. She was really quick on the draw because look at the goodies that showed up in my mailbox today :) Thanks Ginger!!!

So I'm offering another PIF here and now, if you're interested then please let me know and I'll send you something within the next 365 days :)

Food, Fireworks and Fun!

We spent a very happy 4th picnicking in the mountains...the kids romping around, playing in the river and generally just getting dirty!!! I did quite a bit of stitching that I'll show you another day ;) Full of sunshine and fresh mountain breezes, we came home and enjoyed watermelon, fudgesicles, and fireworks. There were several neighbors up and down the street that had fireworks in addition to the city's display, so it was quite fun!

Last week I received my PIF from Mary Kathryn. She stitched up this sweet little pin pillow...thank you Mary Kathryn, I love it!

I stitched a couple sets of replacement squares for the Fair and Square and Margaret and Vonna both rec'd them last week...(sorry that my pics are so dark, you can see better ones on their blogs.)
