Clean and Simple

How many times were you thinking of creating something handmade but couldn't because of the so limited free time we all have during the day? Sometimes crafting may become really challenging and exhausting and that's why I love clean and simple projects. Such projects can turnaround your mood and brighten someones day or even yours :)))
So enough chatting and how about clean and simple card for today? ^.^

*Start by cutting some patterned paper, one piece is going to be our card's base and the other will be used on top of the card (so naturally you would like it to be a bit smaller in order to create a nice and clean border )

regarding the card dimensions: frankly speaking I never think about such things and just go more instinctively and according to the composition I'm planning to have, in other words any size that suits you is fine, don't forget that our main goal here is to have some relaxing and creative time ^.^

*The second step is to fold the bigger piece of paper in half (scoring boards are the best for this job).
The smaller one we are going to use with new Tim Holtz thinlits die, so we'll end with piece of paper with heart shape opening and intricate sketchy heart die cut
*To finish the project all you need is to adhere the paper with heart shape opening over the base of a card with some 3D squares or foam tape to add dimension to your card. I glued the heart inside the opening as you can see and added some stickers from Kaisercraft Bow and Arrow collection. And that's all ^.^

P.S. Thank you for stopping by ^.^ Hope you had creative and relaxing time

I'm curious once again. CC3Challenge!

Hello everyone,
recently I stopped by Linda Ledbetter blog, there's a great challenge going on there based on Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities 3 book. And of course when we talking Tim Holtz and Compendium of Curiosities I just can't be not inspired ...
as the challenge rules state, I can't share with you the technique, but I guess I can say that I was in the mood for some recycling, so as a base I used craft paper bag the rest are some Tim's supplies (stencil, paint, stamps, die, ) and embossing powder. I actually was a bit amazed with the result, it turned out much better than I anticipated. Also I noticed that the embossing powder reacted with the craft paper creating contour around the paint, it looks like very fine shadow effect,so awesome... I wonder if I can achieve it on other craft surfaces

after that few more ideas and I came up with card made from Ranger manila tag

P.S. thank you for stopping by ^.^ wish you crafty inspiration
oh! almost forgot the sponsor of the challenge ^.^

mini cards holder for Scrapbooking.gr

Hello everyone ^.^ Today I'm going to share with you a project I did as a Memories Trend design team member. These are some ideas I have for the coming winter holidays. It is a mini cards holder

and few cards to fit in ^.^

And you can always make one of these yourself too. Let me share with you how ^.^ note that at the end of the post I'm going to add a PDF file with dimensions and some how to 3-D images so don't worry it's really really easy to make this cards holder ^.^

1.First of all cut your card stock (I used the quite thick one, it is a lot like Tim Holtz's grungepaper) and score it along the folding lines
As I already mentioned at the end of this post I'll add the file with all dimensions you need so don't worry about the sizes for now.Let's just see how it goes in general

2. Cut decorative edge (this will be the free top of our folder)

3.Add color to the inner side of the holder, as it is going to be not much visible side I haven't done more than coloring here.
for now let's set aside our holder to dry and make some cards for it

4.Here are some materials I used for making cards (and for decorating my folder also)

5. As for the cards not much to show. All I did is to cut some decorative paper pieces an layer it on simple white card stock (used as a base and folded in two). For edge distressing I used Adirondack paint dabber which we used earlier for holder coloring, also to create a 3-D effect with the main pieces (which I cut from October Afternoon mini postcards set) I adhered them with 3-D foam squares

I also used some designer brads and to to accent the snow I applied some Ranger stickles

6. As soon as our folder is dry and ready cut some designer patterned paper to cover the outer side

7.After that we are ready to start folding and gluing the folder together

8.The finished result. All you have to do now is to embellish and enjoy ^.^

as you can see I also distressed the edges of the holder with the same Adirondack dabber paint we used earlier

Now the link to the the PDF file which I promised you with all the other details you need :
