Our Creative Corner.....Top Talent!!!

Happy Thursday!

Today I have a special post....the fabulous ladies from the Our Creative Corner have chosen this card a while back and along with winning the challenge I have the opportunity to being in the spotlight for the......

I have the pleasure of answering some questions the OCC ladies have given me.......

1.) Where do you live?
I live in a smaller University town called Statesboro, Georgia, which is about 45 minutes NW of  Savannah. It's also the home of the Eagles....Go Eagles!!!

2.) How would you describe your art for the general public audience if they have never seen it before?
I would describe it as mainly clean, fresh, fun and elegant, but yet I can easily switch to Shabby Chic or Vintage.

3.) What texture inspires your creativity?
Hmmmm....not a 100% sure, there are so many awesome texture ideas and techniques, but I think I'll run with dry embossing!

4.)
What is the one tool you couldn't do without?
Most definitely my Stylus...I really like to score lines with it!

5.) What do you enjoy most about card-making?
I really enjoy creating different looks by adding different colors, design paper, embellishments, etc. For me it's definitely a great stress reliever from a busy day at work!!!

6.) Picking only one colour of paint, which would you prefer on your carpet? It's a tough question...but I think I have to go with the WHITE color....LOL..can you tell why???

Just to show off my style a little bit more.....I've create this card......

If you follow my blog, then you already know that I like to participate in either a fun *Color* or *Sketch* Challenge......so when I saw last weeks Deconstructed Sketch # 87 I couldn't help myself but to use it for today's post.

Everything came together super fast....!!! The Design Paper is a mixture of the MME Blush and MME Lavender Collection. I also added some Kraft CS, which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss Folder. Next I stamped the the sentiment from the Flourishes In & Outside THANK YOU Set onto the Spellbinder Label Eighteen Die. I embellished the rest of my card with some Flowers, Silver Pearls, some Ribbon and a Button with some Karen Foster Pink Scrapper's Floss in the center.

Hope you had fun finding out a little more about me today :) ??? I'll be back tomorrow with a new Flourishes card...hope to see you then!?!?

OCC Guest Designer.....CHECK IT OUT!!!

Hello again!

Hope your weekend is going well so far??? I have been busy this week crafting for our upcoming *Festival of Trees* at work. I'll take some pictures and show you the tree I decorated :) !!!

Today I'm excited to share my Guest Designer spot with you over at the OCC Challenge! If you are not familiar with the OCC Challenges make sure to check out these talented ladies!!!

We have a fun challenge going on this week and I hope you will have time to play.......here are the details ~ "Pumpkin/Pumpkin Pie challenge.  Who doesn't look forward to pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving?!  Well Thanksgiving is soon approaching and with the anticipation of pumpkin pie, the challenge this week is to create a project using pumpkins or the color pumpkin pie as the focal point or main color of your project!"

Here is my idea.....

I finally had a chance to ink up one of my poorly neglected Stampin' Up stamps!!! This one is called *Gifts Of the Earth*. I inked the image in Memento Black and colored it with these Copic Markers ~ C1, C3, G11, G24, YR02, YR07, Y17, Y19, Y35, YG91, R46 and Colorless Blender. My card base was created with the Kraft CS and I also added some DP from the BoBunny Forever Fall Collection. I embellished my card with some scoring, a Doily, some Silver Pearls, Brown/White Gingham Ribbon with a matching Button & some Scrapper's Floss and a punched out MS Border on the bottom.

Hope you liked this idea??? Now it's time to check out all the beautiful ideas the OCC Team has created!!! Thank you ladies for inviting me to play along with you :) !!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

MTME Sign it

Happy TGIF!!!

I'm soooooooo glad it's finally Friday!!! The weather has finally cooled off a bit down here and I'm looking forward doing some yard work!!! What are your plans???

Today I have a quick MTME card for you. I'm glad I made this card, because we just had a new family move into the neighborhood....I think I will hand them this card with some homemade cookies as a welcome present :) !!!

I used the house image from the Sign It © Stamp Set. The layout was inspired from last weeks OCCSC30.

The house was inked in Memento Black and colored with Copic MarkersC0, C1, C3, E49, Y21, R17, G19 and Colorless Blender. I decided to pierce around the edges on the second panel. According to the Sketch I added some Buttons and I dressed it up with some Cotton Lace Ribbon.....voila!!!

Please make sure to stop by Lauren's blog...she will announce the winners from the blog hop and of course she'll have another fun project for you as well!!!

Have a fabulous weekend...I'll be back tomorrow with a C4C post!!! Hugs ~S~

OCC Sweet Pea, C4C38 Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday evening!!!

So happy to hear you all liked the flip-flops we made....and the photo of my sweet baby!!! I totally forgot to mention in my post below *how* I added the flowers.....sorry guys..LOL!!! Here is what I did...each center of the flowers have brads. Where the flip-flops come together on top I punched a hole with the Crop-a-Dile and placed the brads right through. I covered the sharp edges on the bottom with another piece of felt, so the kids don't get hurt!!!  I adhered the felt piece with some super sticky Score-Tape...voila...that's it!!!

I had a little stampin' time last night as my kids are super tired from all the action this week...I think they are really ready for their summer break!!! So am I.....Jerry and I are looking forward sleeping in a bit longer :).

My first card is for the OCC Sketch hosted by my sweet friend Loretta.

I used the beautiful Sweet Pea Set from There She Goes. The Kraft panels were embossed with the Dotted Cuttlebug Folder. The Design Paper is from a retired Collection called Vita Bella. At the bottom I added a border...the punch is from the Martha Stewart Collection. Of course I had to add my fabbo Silver Pearls :) !!! At last I bedazzled the main image with some Dazzling Diamond Glitter.

*****************************************

My second card is for the C4C38 Sketch hosted by my sweet friend Cindy.

It's pretty straight forward....I used the sentiment from the PTI Set Communique Curves Sentiment Set and the Fillable Frames #4 Set. I also used the coordinating Fillable Frame Die. The Design Paper is from the BasicGrey Kioshi Collection. At last I added the matching Prima Flower and the Silver Pearls.

Thanks for stopping by tonight!!! Enjoy the rest of your evening!!! Hugs ~S~

IC228, SC276, CQC28 Take Flight

Happy weekend friends!!!

What are you up to this weekend??? We have nothing major going on.....yippee!!! I'm trying my first Zumba class on Sunday...unfortunately I missed it last weekend. Has anyone tried Zumba yet??? I can't wait!!!

This card is for this weeks IC228 - Crate Label and the layout is from this weeks SC276.  Since I'm lovin'  butterflies lately I just had to choose this inspiration piece *Butterfly*. The colors were inspired by this weeks CQC28 - using Ruby Red, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay.

The images are from the Stampin' Up Hostess Set God's Beauty. Love this Set!!! The sentiment is from the Papertrey Set - Butterfly Dreams....still had it on my desk from the other day and I thought it works perfectly with this butterfly image!!!

The flowers were inked in Memento Black and colored with Copic Markers. The leaves were colored with  Bermuda Bay Ink using a Blender Pen. The flowers and the butterfly were raised with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by....enjoy your weekend!!!

ETA: I also submitted my card for this weeks OCC Butterfly Challenge!!!

TESC107, CQC27, OCCC I'm Sorry....

Happy Wednesday evening!!!

I had the TESC107 Sketch on my mind all week, but wasn't sure what colors to use until I found the CQC27 - using Tangerine Tango, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Soft Suede.
I incorporated the OCC Challenge - Break out the Buttons as well, since it works perfectly with the Sketch :).

Please click to see it larger...I have a hard time with cards that are sideways :(

I was trying so hard not to buy these super duper cute Pure Innocence girls, but couldn't resist any longer...LOL!!! This one is called Flower Girl. Isn't she adorable???

The DP is from the Tangerine Tango Pattern Design Collection. The image was inked in Memento Black and I colored most of the image with Copic Markers except the hair. I used a Blender Pen and colored it with Soft Suede color. The background was sponged with Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery...I think I found a new passion...LOL!!!

The Buttons are a combo of SU and PTI Collections. I tied them with some White Scrap Floss in the center. To stick them to the card I used some Jumbo Glue Dots...they work magically!!!

Thank you for stopping by tonight...have a wonderful evening!!!

Here is my take on the Sketch........

We are invited to a wedding in April and I thought I go ahead and prepare a card in advance!!! My main inspiration came from this weeks IC225 - Thymes. I chose this Bath Salt Envelope and ran with the beautiful colors...but kept it more on the pink/green side!!!

The flower image is from the SU Ever After Set. The sentiment is from the SU Special Blessing Set.
I inked them both in Memento Black and colored the flowers with these Copic Markers - C1, G24, R85 plus Colorless Blender. The BG was embossed with the SU Perfect Details Texturz Plate Die. The DP on the side is from the SU Bella Rose Collection and the scalloped border was created with the Scalloped Edge Punch. I accessorized the card with Pink Satin Ribbon and Silver Pearls.

Okay guys now it's your turn....I'm looking forward seeing how you use the Sketch!!!

Here is my idea.......

My inspiration to create this sweet combo came from this weeks IC224 - Cutest Food. I chose this super yummy little Bunny Dish. You have to check out this awesome store....too cute!!!

I used the super duper cute Northwoods image Bunny with Tulips that is available at Stamper's Dream Store. I inked it in Memento Black and colored it with Copic Markers. The Design Paper is from the BasicGrey Nook & Pantry Collection.

I finished the card off with a Purple Button, Purple Scrap Floss, Silver Pearls and some Black Check Ribbon that is also available at the Stamper's Dream Store .

The box was done with the Sizzix Bigz XL Box # 2 Die. I decorated it with the same Black Check Ribbon, Purple Button, Purple Scrap-Floss and Silver Pearls.

Oh before I go I wanted to share something with you.....most of you know that I did a little *House Hunting* on my Texas trip and I would like to share a house that I found and really, really liked.....of course we have to sell our house here in GA first, but at least there are possibilities :)!!! OCC Sketch Challenge!!!

Happy weekend!!!

Guess what?!? It's my turn to host this months OCC Challenge!!! I can't believe it is March already...I sure hope it's a better one then last month...KWIM??? This will be actually my last month with the OCC....it's been a  fun year!!! Since we are moving this summer I figured I'd free up my schedule a bit more!!!

For today I created this Sketch for you and I hope you have time to play along with us?!?

It's pretty straight forward and if you don't like square cards... than just go with a regular size as long as you stay true to the Sketch!!!

Okay here is my take on it......

I created this sweet treat bag with the Sizzix Bag with Scallops Bigz XL Die.
I added a Small Cello Bag in the center and filled it up with some candy :) - yummy!!!

I couldn't help myself.... I had to use this awesome For All You Do Set from SU when I saw todays IC222 - Ginko Paper!!! I chose this Bountiful Cherry Blossom Card for my inspiration as well as the colors from the Trigger Tuesday - Sweet on Spring hosted by Moxie Fab World. These colors also match this weeks Color Dare - CD58 Challenge - using Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery. The theme for the Stamp Simply #129 Challenge is to add a Punched Border...so it fits my card perfectly too :).

The embossed background was created with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate Die from SU. Each of the flowers were raised with Stampin' Dimensionals and I added Silver Pearls in the center. The border was punched out with the Eyelet Border Punch.

Don't forget to stop by the OCC Blog to see all the creations from the Team!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I can't wait to see your take on the Sketch!!! Hugs ~S~
