Canvas Corp Brand Crew: You got the write stuff

Today I made a card, using a color book page From Just add color Optical Illusions and coloring the page with Tattered Angles Plane Jane Simply Sheer in birthday.

I put some of the color in the Tim Holtz Ink Palette and with a small brush started painting the page, like using water colors.

It didn't long to color the whole thing. maybe a half hour to an hour. It's a simple design.

I then cut the page to a 4x6 size for a card. I cut a couple of he images from the Heirloom collection: pen and ink on ivory 12x12 sheet . I painted the tip of the pen and part of the jar with Tarnished Silver Glimmer mist and the label of the ink jar in Polka dot pink chalkboard spray. Course after I did that I saw he label said red, lol

I cut jar opening with my craft knife and put the pen in it like the pen is dipping into the jar of ink. I used foam tape on both and attached it to the card front. I added some "ink splatters" using the Birthday simply sheer spray.  Then used the atg to attach it to the card base. I wrote the sentiment and cut the words out and glued to the card.

Coffee, coffee, coffee

Yesterday I got a new plate of stamps (plate 1480) from Viva Las VegaStamps! Today I played with a couple of them.

I tused the coffee cups embossing folder from Tim Holtz and sprites some Molted Chocolate Dylusions spray inside embossing folder. then ran it through my big shot. While that was drying I stamped the coffee guy. colored him with Prisma color pencils. I stamped the coffee cup on white cardstock and then stamped it again on Kraft for the sleeve.Once the embossed paper was dried, I used Miracle tape to attach it to the Kraft card base. I taped the guy to the cup with Miracle tape. I put foam tape on the cup and stuck it to the embossed. I stamped the coffee cup again on white cardstock just for the sleeve I then stamped the "coffee, coffee, coffee" stamp on the sleeve. cut it out and used foam tape to attach it to the card.

Coffee: feeds the soul.

New Month new Challenge over on Viva Las VegaStamps! And its all about coffee!

I made this card using The Tim Holtz coffee cup texture fade. I sprayed some home made coffee spray on the cardstock. I stamped the coffee ring stamp, numbers and starry background stamps in Distress ink pads in Walnut stain and Vintage photo. The beans is from TPC Studip Cafe Mocha stamp set. I would of used some coffee beans that i have a Silhouette file of but didn't have any on hand, and didn't want to turn on my cameo just to cut out 3 little beans. I stamped on the background and white cardstock and use foam tape to attach them on the card front. The coffee cup I stamp on white card stock and colored with my Peerless Watercolors. I cut and popped that out with foam squares. Once the front was done. I used 1/4 Miracle tape on the front and taped it to the card base. Lastly for the front of the card. I stamped the free your soul on white card base.

Inside the card I stamped the morning without coffee. with Black Versafine ink pad and then I sprayed some more coffee on the inside.

Coffee Coffee Coffee

In September a Hobby Lobby not to far from my house opened. I didn't get there til a couple weeks ago. Its Huge! I did a quick look around and the only thing I got was the On the Go texture fade. I came home and made a card.

I did a technique that Jennifer McGuire did a month a so ago, but instead of using Distress ink pads I used Dylusions paints in Bubble gum pink and Vibrant Turquoise. I wanted to see ho the technique did with paint. After I put the paint down I brushed on pewter Perfect Pearls. Then I placed the cardstock in the texture fade and ran it through the big shot.

I stamped the Julie Nutting doll on book paper colored her with Neo Color 2's and then dressed her in scraps. I took a piece of cardstock that I had dragged Dylusions ink a while back and ran the texture fade in the big shot. I cut a coffee cup out and glued it to her. A morning without coffee sentiment is from Viva Las VegaStamps! After that was put together I put the piece on a white card base.

London Bound card

In my last post I showed 2 tags that I made for a couple of friends who are going to England. I made a card for another friend who is also going to England with the 2 other friends. Really loved how it turned out!

The card base is Black card base from Recollections. The decorative paper is from Newsworthy by Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby. I used  Jill the 60's Julie Nutting Mixed Media stamp. Stamped her on book paper with Versafine ink pad. Colored her with Neo color 2's. I dressed her with a piece of of Travel Girl 8x8 pad and a piece of 12x12 Boarding Pass by October Afternoon(I've been treasuring both of these collections. But I took a breath and  used them. LOL) The dog I stamped with Coffee Bean Brilliance pad on book paper. colored him with Neo color 2. and dressed him with the same papers. I used my Dymo to write out "London Bound". With my Cameo i cut out a teeny tiny donut that I colored with Gathered Twig and Picked Raspberry distress ink pads. I put Glossy Accents on the frosting.  and I also cut out a teeny tiny coffee to go cup I colored that with salty Ocean and Barn door. So Stickin cute!

Halloween Card #1

Thanks to some friends sending me crafty RAK's I've been able to get crafty while we are STILL looking for a place to live (My parents did put a bid on a place but so did 3 other people. and the guy turned down all of us and countered which wasn't really a counter offer as it was his asking price! My parents did counter but we didn't get the house. We are still looking) . Course it would be nice to have my own stuff to play with along with the crafty goodness sent to me.

Anyway in one of the RAK's I was sent the Sept. La-La-Land Sept kit. Its a Halloween kit. the kit is great. Came with papers and embellishments, stamp and dies. It did come with a link to download 3 projects to make with the kit. But since I don't have my big shot with me to use the dies, I didn't bother looking at that.

Here is a card I made with some of the kit.

I cut the black cardstock that came in the kit horizontal and folded in half. I then cut the orange cardstock 5 1/2 by 4 1/2 and the pattern paper 5 by 4. I attached the papers to the black card base with Miracle tape. The images I stamped on white cardstock with Stazon black ink pad. I colored with Crayola twistable color pencils. I blended with a Q-tip and baby oil.

I attached the set of 3 pumpkins with Miracle tape. Then the individual pumpkins, the small one I used Miracle tape to attach the the other single pumpkin. Then I used foam dots to attach those to to the set of 3. Then attached her to the card using the foam dots too.

The inside I used the extra piece of orange cardstock using the smooth side. I stamped her again and stamped the sentiment.

I do have another Halloween card I'm working on, but S T I C K L E S had to dry before putting it together. :)

Letting the paper speak for itself

Here is a quick card I made using Prima's Nature Walk. I cut it so I could get the pixi for the card front. I did put some glossy accents on some parts of the paper to add some texture to it.

The inside I used the other side of the scrapbook paper. and stamped the sentiment from Bugawamps.

Party like a rock star!

I made this birthday card for a friend of mine who's birthday is comeing up soon.

I took some of the scraps I had from the Glam Rock stack by DCWV and punched squares with the EK Success 7/8 square punch. I then glued them down with Helmar Craft and Hobby PVA glue on a separate piece of black Recollection cardstock cut a quarter inch smaller than the black card base(also by Recollections).

I then took one of my Julie Nutting girls that I had already had made(made a bunch of them when I got them.) She is dressed with some scraps of Rock Star stack from DCWV. I backed her on black card stock scrap and cut her out and glued her to the card.(I did at first pop dotted her to the card, but decied to tape and glue her down because I was mailing it.

The inside of the card I used some more scraps of the Glam Rock stack and cut a piece of white card stock that is a scrap to size. taped it down. I printed the sentiment that I found online. I then added some stickopomus stickers from my stash. The sentiment says :

Make a wish

Viva Las VegaStamps! brought back their monthly challenge on the blog this month. Its simple challenge. make something that inspired you from the inspiration picture using one or more Viva Las VegaStamps! images.

I made a birthday card. I took the color light pink (shocking I know!) and stitching that was in the picture as my inspiration.

I chose a white card base. The paper is from My Minds Eye lost and found Madison Avenue. Used Miracle tape to attach the paper to the card base. With a white Uniball Signo pen I made stitching lines around both papers. I know its kinda hard to see on the bottom designer paper, but its there. I stamped the Cake with candle on white cardstock with black menento ink pad. I used Artist Loft pearlesent water colors to color the cake and candle. I stamped the "Make A Wish" on a scrap of the white card from when I cut the cake image out. I used miracle tape to attach the cake and the sentiment to the card.

Simple card I know. :)

Dylusional thanks!

Yesterday afternoon I got in the mail a set of Dylusions stamps set called "Doodle parts" from my friend Eileen. With a post it note that say "Enjoy! Now make me a card!" So I did.

White card base that was already folded. I found it while looking for some black and white scraps. I also found a piece of lightweight chip board and some tissue paper. I mod podge the tissue paper to the chipboard, heat set it to dry. I then cut off the extra tissue paper, and trimmed the chipboard to size. I then edged the edges with black craft paint. I deiced to put some of the black craft paint on the the tissue paper to take off the shine the mod podge made it. I love the texture that the crinkled tissue made.

Next i took a piece of white cardstock and then on the shiny side of my cutting mat I sprayed neon green and sky blue S.E.I. Tumble dyes and the Bubble Gum Pink Dylusions spray. I sprayed some water then dragged each half of the cardstock through it. Heat set to dry. I then stamped the arrows and the Mushrooms in Tuxedo Black Menento ink pad. Cut them out and with Crackle accents glued the  arrows on the black piece. I used foam squares to attached the mushrooms to the black. With Miracle Tape I attached the black piece to the white card base.

With a scrap of the now colored card stock I stamped the Thank you by Inkadinkado on the white side with same ink pad. Cut and glued to the card. I added 3 pears by Wild Orchid crafts. I then added some glossy accents to the circles on the mushrooms.

Entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Black and white with a splash of color.

Have yourself a Merry little Christmas

Its the the Holiday Season! This year I deiced to make some Christmas cards using Viva Las VegaStamps! of course!

This first card is a quick fun card I made using Kromecote and Ultra High Gloss clear embossing powder for a fun emboss resist technique.

I stamped the Harlequin Diamond background stamp in clear embossing ink on the Kromecote. I poured the Ultra High Gloss embossing powder over it. After I melted the embossing powder with my heat gun, and it cooled, I took Barn Door distress ink pad and one of the foam pieces and went over the embossed image with the ink. I then took Fire Brick distress ink pad and did it again. I then took a paper towel to wipe off the ink from where it is embossed. it looks like this.

I trimmed the Kromcote a pit so it can fit on the Kraft card base. I used Miracle tape to attached the Kromecote to the card base.

On white cardstock I stamped the Snow woman in flower hat with black Memento ink pad. I colored her hat and purse with markers. I stamped the head part of the stamp and painted the nose orange. I cut it out and glued it on her. I glossy accented the band of the hat and her eyes. I added some rock candy stickles to her body. I used foam tape to attache her to the card.

On a piece of scrap cardstock I stamped the sentiment, "have yourself a merry little Christmas" and edged it with Crushed Olive distress ink pad.

Stamps I used:
Harlequin Diamond Background
Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Snow woman with flower hat

items used:
Kromecote
Ultra High Gloss Embossing powder
Miracle tape
bard door distress ink pad
fire brick distress ink pad
kraft cardstock
white cardstock
black memento ink pad
orange craft paint
markers
rock candy stickles
foam tape
crushed olive distress ink pad

This card is another fun card to make. Its a triple stamping card technique  I saw a friend make one, then saw a youtube video on where she got the idea from. While watching her make the card I got an idea to use a VLVS! stamp with it. Turned out really cute! This is what it looks like uncolored.

I took the 3 white cardstock layers and stack them on top of each other. I then stamped the Santa hits plane with Black Versafine ink pad and then embossed in Ultra High Gloss clear embossing powder. After I embossed the powder I mounted the three white layers onto the green cardstock using Miracle tape. I then colored the image Artist Loft watercolors. I also used pearlesnt watercolors. I should of done that first before mounting them on the green. but live and learn! :P

Taking a cue from George of the Jungle I stamped out "Watch out for that plane George" with the small alpha's from the plate 1430 on scrap of white cardsock with black soot distress ink pad. cut the words and mounted that on the bottom white layer.

Viva L:as Vegastamps! Halloween Blog Hop day 6

Happy Friday and Welcome to Day 6 of the Halloween blog hop.Now if you remember from the VLVS! blog you know you should be on the hunt on the secret letters throughout the Design teams blogs. hope you been finding them and writing them down. wonder where you will find mine? :P

Today is another card. I'm doing another fun technique, the clear embossing powder resist technique. Now if you remember this is what I was trying to do back in June in the Mary Vogel Lozinak blog hop when I was using the photo paper and came across my happy accident.

I took a piece of Kromecote and stamped the tree background with clear embossing pad and embossed with the ultra high gloss embossing powder. I then took Hottie Pottie Hot pink and Screamin' Banchee Black Starburst Sprays by Lindy's stamp gang. I know these are not traditional Halloween colors, but sometimes you don't have to be traditional. I spayed them on the Kromeote and then wiping what got onto the emboss image. Yes some got of the spray did stay on some parts of the embossing. but that is okay.

On a piece of white cardstock I stamped the Witch CostumeCemetery, and The witching hour stamps with Black Memento ink pad. The Witch I colored with the Picked raspberries and Crushed Olive distress ink pads. I then fussy cut the cemetery and the witch costume. attached the the sentiment and the witch costume and one of the cemetery i stamped with Miracle tape. The other I put foam tape on it and put it on the kromecote piece.

To put the card together. The base is black Recollections card. the pattern paper is a Halloween paper by GCD Studios. Mounted the Kromecote to the pattern paper and those 2 peices on to the card base using Miracle tape.

And just for kicks I stamped with clear embossing pad and embossed with the ultra high gloss embossing powder the tree background stamp on the envelope.

Stamps used:
Tree background
Witch costume
The witching hour
cemetery

Items used
Kromecote
Ultra High Gloss Embossing powder
Miracle tape
Black card and Envelope
Lindy Stamp gang sprays
heat gun
Black memento ink pad
Picked Raspberry and Crushed olive distress ink pads
water brush

Have fun At Susan's and enjoy the hunt for the letters. Sadly tomorrow is the last day of the hop.

Viva Las Vegastamps! Halloween blog hop day 3

Hi and welcome back to day 3. Hope you all did today's game and  visited the VLVS website  to see what is there. Don't forget to go the the VLVS blog and commenting on what you learned on the website. :)

Today I'm going to show you a card I made. And I did a little soot stamping.

Soot stamping is a cool technique, but it takes a while to get enough soot on the glossy cardstock. Or in this case I used Kromecote

You need a candle and a piece of Kromecote(or a glossy cardstock) and maybe a spray bottle of water just in case. Safty First!. Light the candle and place the kromecote over the flame. Not to close to the flame or else you risk of not catching the soot and burn the paper, or have it catch on fire (ask me how I know this. LOL). Just enough so you can catch the black soot on the cardstock. It does take a while for the soot to cover the whole piece you using. You want the kromecote completely black. But I got tired of waiting, and thought what I had was good enough. I took the tree writing collage stamp and stamped on the soot kromecote. it came out really cool. Now you really need to seal it with something. Me being lazy, didn't do that. I did wiped the piece a bit and it still looked good. A little faded, but still cool. I trimmed the piece down a bit.

For the card itself I cut down a Recollection card base to 4x 5 1/2. layered it with some old Recollection Halloween paper from a couple years ago. The purple band is Tissue paper. I used Miracle tape
to attach all the paper layers to the card base.

I then attached the written collage imaged I stamped and trimmed onto the card with Miracle tape. I then Stamped the Faded crow/raven on a piece of clean white Kromecote in black Memento ink pad. I used Black Soot distress ink pad and a water brush to paint the white parts black. The nevermore I stamped  on left over scraps of the soot Kromecote with the Memebto ink pad. I attached those with foam tape.It needed something, so i took a die cut I have of a bird claw and used a few layers ofblack UTEE before stamping the tree writing collage stamp into it. i used a clear embossing ink pad for the stamp. I then used foam tape to attach it to the card. Finally I colored 3 pearls with a black Bick mark it marker and put them on the card.

thinking of you card

Here is a quick card I made using scraps from a project I was doing.

Kraft cardstock base. I took 2 scraps of scrapbook paper from the Retro Collage by Recollections and layered them over each other using Miracle tape. I stamped the Hippocrates hippo in black versafine ink pad. I colored him with Prisma's colored pencils. I popped him with foam tape. The letters I gotten in a big bag of alphas of all shapes and sizes at a thrift store. I think they are by Making Memories or K & Co. I spelled out "thinking of you" it still needed something so I added 6 pink bling 3 on each side.

Itemes used:
Kraft cardstock

Bling by Recollection
alpha letters by Making Memories
