In Between Stitches Gala Event

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday 125 quilters gathered together at The Purple Orchid in Livermore for the annual Christmas luncheon and preview party for In Between Stitches.

The In Between Stitches staff and customers signed up to decorate tables for the event.  We arrived early to transform the room into a Winter Wonderland.

The entire room was so festive.

Quilters started arriving early.

Many brought an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots.  The tree was loaded with presents donated by our generous customers.

Here are some of my buddies, Melody, Barbara, Marty, and Laurie.

Here are some more of my friends. Susan makes all of us smile all of the time! Mary Lou, Doris and Suzanne.

Friends gather together and go over the extensive class schedule to decide what classes to take next quarter.

The quilts provide a beautiful backdrop to the gorgeous room filled with lovely ladies and friends.

My "Tuesday girls" Suzanne and Karen sat at my table.  While I was busy getting the computer and projector set for the slide show, Karen and company decorated my table for me.  Thanks girls!

The quilts were hanging around the room for everyone to admire.  My buddy Lisa has a new design. This is going to be another winner!

Here is just a small sampling of the classes being offered.

My friend Melody is toasting quilters everywhere!  That's just orange juice right Melody?  Wink, Wink.

A quilt shop isn't just a store front. A quilt shop isn't always just about quilting. It is a vibrant activity center of a community.  A quilt shop promotes friendships, encourages laughter, and stimulates our brains with classes. A quilt shop is a safe haven for those dealing with personal struggles, by providing compassion, and hugs.  Support you local quilt shop every chance you get and the benefits will be returned to you tenfold.

Speaking of quilt shops, I'm off to work at the shop this morning to see all of my buddies, play with fabric, give out hugs......and maybe do a little work. Gee, I hope the boss lady isn't reading this post!

Spring Preview Party for In Between Stitches

Hello Everyone,

In Between Stitches held it's Spring Preview Party at The Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa Tuesday evening.  The following is just a sample of all of the classes which are offered at In Between Stitches throughout the Spring and Summer.  The full list of classes is available HERE.

Melissa, the shop's owner is expecting her first little one in the next three weeks.

She and her husband decided they wanted to be surprised, and not find out ahead of time if they are having a boy or girl.  I say good for them!! Be surprised and enjoy the anticipation.

Will the REAL pregnant lady please stand up?  I can't believe I'm posting this picture of me! Either I'm carrying my baby a little high......or my support bra isn't doing a good job.  It was fun being silly.  I'm happy to report that Lisa and I still have our jobs after poking so much fun at our boss.  We wish her all our best, and look forward to meeting the new little shop mascot.

Lynn

In Between Stitches Preview Party

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was an annual Christmas luncheon and Preview Party hosted by In Between Stitches at the beautiful Purple Orchid Inn Resort and Spa in Livermore.

The room was full of friendly quilters.

Each table is decorated by an employee or customer.  The tablescapes were beautiful and so creative!  This was my table.

See my Grammy Squares quilt in the background!  This is the only picture I took of it.

The event also collects toys for Toys for Tots.  Both In Between Stitches and The Purple Orchid make generous contributions to the program.

There was also a tea towel exchange.

Of course there was food!

Of course there were quilts!  In Between Stitches offers a large and varied class schedule of beautiful quilts, sewing projects, embroidery projects, and specialized printing on fabrics classes.

The Christmas event is always special, and always a treat to attend.

Thank you to EVERYONE who posted such wonderful comments on my 1000th post!  I'm still trying to get caught up and respond to each one.  Please be patient......I will get to you sometime this week.  As soon as the fabric arrives from Marcus Fabrics, I'll post a picture.

I'm off to work this morning to see what new quilted goodies arrived during the week at the shop.  Enjoy your day, I know I'll enjoy mine.

Soon,
Lynn
