At Home with the Monkeys

My card today features some Little Agenda stamps from Mama Elephant. I thought it would be fun to create a wallpaper background for my Little Agenda frames to hang on.

I began by stamping the leaf images from MFT Brushstroke Blooms all over my card base, using Altenew Forest Glades ink cube

Next, I cut a piece of green Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Fall paper and adhered that on to one side of my card base.

To bridge the gap between the two prints, I cut a thin strip of green card and adhered it between them.

Next, I stamped three of the square frame, from the Little Agenda Frames stamp set, onto white card. I masked the edges and stamped some of the Little Monkey Agenda within the frames. You could use any of the fabulous Little Agenda stamp sets - there’s so much choice.

I coloured the images in with my alcohol markers, then die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I added the hanging pieces to the card with liquid glue, then the frames with foam squares. To finish, I added a small sentiment from the Little Agenda Frames stamp set.

I love the 'Wallace and Gromit' look of this card, with the contrasting wallpaper and fun photo frames.

Have a lovely day,
Gemma

Spring Brushstroke Blooms

Spring is my favourite season. I look forward to the tree blossom and daffodils, and hopefully some warmer weather! My card today has a spring feel to it, with the sunshine yellows, complimented by a touch of soft grey.

I began by stamping some flowers from the MFT Brushstroke Blooms stamp set. I used MFT dye inks. Then I cut the images out with the coordinating dienamics.

For the background, I die cut the Avery Elle Diagonal Stripes cover die from white card, and adhered it to a white card base. I wanted to add a touch of colour, so I die cut it again from yellow patterned paper, then paper pieced the small diagonal pieces into the white cover die. I’ll keep the rest of the yellow patterned cover die cut for another card.

I stamped a birthday greeting in the centre of the card, then adhered the flowers and leaves around the edge, using some foam tape for the flowers. I finished the card with some sequins.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma

Blue and White Brushstroke Blooms

My card today showcases the beautiful new Brushstroke Blooms stamp set from MFT. This is a layering floral set, with solid images, so it’s perfect for creating quick floral cards with a painted look.

My inspiration actually came from an oriental bowl I saw on an antiques programme the other evening! I love the look of blue and white porcelain, and thought a pattern of blue flowers and leaves would work really well on a card too.

I chose three colours of MFT inks - Blue Yonder, Cornflower, and Blueberry - and stamped clusters of flowers and leaves onto a white card base. I didn’t do any masking, just selective inking for the leaves so they didn’t overlap the petals.

I finished the card with a very simple sentiment banner and greeting, plus a few sequins.

If you wanted to make multiple cards with a patterned background, try stamping a larger sheet of card and then cutting it down to add to several card bases.

Thank you for joining me today,
Gemma
