ADDICTED TO CAS - Challenge #20

Happy Saturday everyone - hopefully as you are reading this I'm just arriving at my hotel for the great Crafty Retreat organised by Oyster Stamps..........can't wait; wall to wall crafting with Paul Church, the amazing (and blingy!!!) Martine Smith, Neet Hickson, Jacqui Dennis and the fab Anna Marie - not to mention Tracey & Graham.

Anyway, back to business.  The last two weeks have flown by and there were some lovely entries for our Summer challenge, but it's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this time your host is the fabulous Florence who has chosen the code word:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:
Grab a Banner

who are offering the winner FOUR images of their choice

I've used a Delicious Doodles image for my card which is the lovely scene of beach huts........this time of the year "Holiday" only meant one thing and yep anything beach, lazing around etc although some of my team mates obviously thought Christmas!!!  lol  I've printed off the image and coloured using Pan Pastels, die cut an aperture in a square piece of card using Spellbinders and then I embossed my Memory Box Big Splash die cut on the top and bottom of this card for some texture.  Both the sentiments were free digis that I've cut out and coloured with Pan Pastels.  I popped the frame up with d/s foam pads and did the same with the sentiments.

Please pop over to Addicted to CAS to see the great inspiration cards made by the Design Team.

Now it's your turn - lets see what amazing creations you come up with for this code word - as usual the only stipulation is the your card must be CLEAN & SIMPLE to qualify.  Can't wait to come and visit to say hi.  I'll be back after the weekend to catch up with you all and, hopefully, show you some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you soon.

I've used the Delicious Doodles "Snowy Mailbox" image for my card.  I printed it out and coloured using Flexmarkers.  I then added glitter glue for the snow .  I die cut a frame using my nestie rectangle dies and popped it over the image using d/s foam pads.  The sentiment is a clear stamp that I had made.  I'd seen the sentiment somewhere on the net and then played with different fonts til I liked what I saw and got a lovely person in China to make me a couple of cling stamps in different sizes.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #16

Hello Everyone - hope you've had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.  Well, it's time for another challenge over at Addicted to CAS and I am your host for this one.  The code word I have chosen is:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:
Grab a Banner

who are offering 4 digis of your choice to the lucky winner

I've used two Delicious Doodles digital images, the first of which is the Spitfire.  I printed the image off once on card and again on copy paper so I could cut myself a mask.  I also punched out a circle from copy paper so I could use both the positive and negative punched piece for the sun (which I'm thinking may be a tad too big!!!).  I used the negative circle to add colour through the space for the sun and then placed the positive circle over the sun to sponge on my sky.  I added the mask to the plane and tore some copy paper to sponge some hills.  I've used Distress Inks for this (Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass).  I have added Crystal Lacquer to the cockpit, nose cone and propellers.  I diecut the image and mat using Spellbinders nesties and then popped up onto the base A5 landscape card.  I rounded the corners of the base card using my Corner Chomper.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up Circle of Friendship set inked in VersaFine Black, punched using my SU 1" punch and matted onto a die cut layer.  Final touch was some thin black ribbon (cut out of a top!!!).

My second card uses the lovely image Pegasus which was printed out onto white card and also onto copy paper so I could cut a mask.  I sponged around the image using a mixture of SU Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace and Perfect Plum.  I have used my Wink of Stella clear pen on the mane and tail and the underside of the wings (although not sure the photo shows that too well).  I die cut the image and white mat using Spellbinders square nesties.  I have then overstamped with my Water Droplets stamp by Designs by Ryn.  The sentiment is computer generated and I've used Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One on the edge and cut a slightly larger mat the same way.

Please pop on over to Addicted to CAS to see the wonderful samples the DT have made for your inspiration.  Just a quick note - normally we have our challenges every two weeks but this challenge will only last for ONE WEEK............with the next challenge starting next Saturday 6th July - so get your skates on and let's see what delights you come up with.

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Crafting.

Less is More - Week 108 - Paper Piercing

As my friend Darnell would say............. WHOOSH and here we are at Wednesday already!!!  lol  Although I entered the current Less is More challenge of Paper Piercing it was a little bit of a cheat as it was also my DT card for Addicted to CAS and I think Chrissie would "like to see a bit more white card"............. (hehe) and I'd also mistakenly put Paper Piecing instead of Piercing - humble apologies.

So as I've just found a super talented lady by the name of Teri who owns Delicious Doodles I thought I'd christen one of her digi stamps called Working the Land.  I printed the image out onto super smooth printer card and die cut it with a nesties circle and matted it up on black and silver mirri die cut circles.  The background layer has been paper pierced using an Ornare pricking stencil and then layered onto a square white linen card blank.  The sentiment is Hobby Arts matted onto black card and popped up to give some dimension.

Thought you might like to see a visitor we see quite often either in the garden or the field at the back of us............amazing sight and it's not often I manage to lay my hands on the camera but he/she decided to hang around for a while...... perhaps thought as it was so wet there were bound to be a few fish swimming around!!!  lol

Thanks for dropping by.
