Okay, can we just take a moment to appreciate how amazing the latest Hoop Studio creation is? They’ve taken our SEI Velvet Paper and worked some magic with machine embroidery to create a stunning raspberry shaker card—and it’s absolutely gorgeous!
What’s so cool about this project is the way they’ve blended the soft, luxurious feel of our velvet paper with the intricate beauty of machine embroidery. The result? A card that looks both elegant and playful, with little heart details that make it even more adorable. Plus, the shaker element adds an interactive touch that really brings the whole thing to life. Who doesn’t love a card that’s not just pretty, but fun to shake around too? The best part is that the SEI Velvet Paper is super easy to work with on embroidery machines, so you get all the crisp, beautiful details without sacrificing that velvety softness. It’s the perfect material for giving a card or project that extra special pop. We’re beyond excited to see Kimberbell use SEI Velvet Paper in such a creative way, and we can’t wait to see what other gorgeous ideas they come up with next!

DIY Velvet Paper Poinsettia
Velvet paper is so lush and lovely for winter! There are so many great project ideas. A few years ago we made some really pretty gift bows with velvet paper. Today we are showing a poinsettia we made. This could be used for a table accent, gift bow, holiday card, or on a scrapbook layout.
We created 4 sizes of a simple 5-point flower. We cut the largest out of green velvet paper and the other 3 out of red velvet. After layering the flowers, we attached some yellow gems to the center.
Isn't this velvet paper lovely? What would you use a velvet poinsettia for?

Fall Centerpiece with DIY Velvet Paper Flowers
September is here! We are starting to think about decorating for fall. One of our favorite fall craft supplies is velvet paper. We have used it for fall leaves, masks, cards and more.
Today we are sharing a floral centerpiece we made using velvet paper. There are many colors to choose from. So, we chose colors that go with our fall decor this time.
We love making paper flowers. But, velvet paper adds a more lush and realistic texture.
To make your own floral centerpiece, you will need velvet paper, floral wire, and a hot glue gun.
You can make your own flower shapes or use some of the many free ones available online. We used this template for the honey colored spiral flowers, this one for the simple little rust colored flowers & large ivory flower, and this one for some of the leaves.
Attach the flowers to floral wires and wrap the wires in strips of velvet paper. Then you can bend the flower stems to arrange the flowers however you want.
We hope this gives you some ideas for decorating and you will try incorporating velvet paper into your decor this fall.

Pretty Handmade Mother's Day Card with Velvet Paper
If you need a last-minute Mother's Day gift, don't underestimate how much most mother's love cards! A personal card, made by you, with a special message is so appreciated.
We made ours with the Penrose paper pad and lot's of lovely velvet paper. We cut out various flower shapes using our cutting machine. Then, we arranged them onto our paper to make a pretty bouquet.
These kind of flowers really last. In fact, you could make a 3D bouquet for her to decorate with them too... or a wreath would be nice. There are so many ideas!
Pair them with a pretty necklace in a velvet-lined box and you've got the perfect gift. Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful ladies who influence others for good!

Velvet Bunny Easter Treat Bags
Spring is really here! Usually we think of velvet as a fall or winter thing. But, there are so many cute ways to use velvet for springtime.
One of our favorite spring velvet ideas is making soft, fuzzy bunnies with it. We cut these bunnies out of white velvet paper using our silhouette cutting machine. Then, we attached them to treat bags and wrapped them up with ribbon.
Photos can't do these justice since you need to feel the texture to really appreciate it. We hope you are enjoying spring and have flowers popping up where you live!

DIY Velvet-Lined Gift Box
We wanted to make a gift box for these pretty pressed-flower necklaces and found the perfect way to make it more plush and fancy... velvet paper! We are majorly crushing on the velvet trend right now.
To start, we made a simple box out of papers from our Penrose paperpack. Then, we cut velvet paper to line the inside.
For the flower on top, we cut a bunch of little flowers out of velvet paper, using our Silhouette. Then, we added some velvet leaves and adhesive pearls.
The necklaces are from one of our favorite Etsy shops, Wylde Wanderer. What do you think of this velvet-lined box? Are you loving the velvet trend too? We hope so because we have some more velvet projects coming soon!

DIY Tulip Artwork with Dye & Velvet Paper
The tulips here are almost gone. But, this tulip art will bring springtime into your home all year long.
To create this piece, we printed a simple tulip outline on our white velvet paper. Then, we added color with our dyes.
This is such a fun project and the colors blend so well on the velvet paper. So, we included different hues of green for the leaves. For the petals, we used coral and magenta.

Cute Valentine Treat DIY Craft
Valentine's Day and velvet paper go hand-in-hand. We just couldn't resist creating a few more velvet projects. First, make any shape of confetti with a simple hole punch. Hearts are the perfect touch for any Valentine gift.
The second project is our cute little velvet bear. Velvet paper has the perfect fuzzy fur texture!
We used our Silhouette to cut the pieces out of brown velvet paper, put the bear together, then accented it with googly eyes and a little pearl or gem for the nose.
Our bears are going to deliver some gummy bears to our friends. So, we put gummy bears in a little bag with our free heart printable and wrapped his hands around the bag.
Isn't he cute? Be sure to check out all the great velvet paper colors we have here & use our free printables below!

Cute Valentine Cookie Bag
Maybe you have a friend that would like to know you are thinking of her. Even adults enjoy a special Valentine treat! So, we came up with a cute little cookie bag that works great for kids and adults.
These are really simple to make! Slip a little folded piece of paper inside a plastic bag with a yummy cookie. Then, fold a little piece of velvet paper around the top.
Accent the bag however you'd like. We just used a little flag, gem, sentiment, and ribbon.
It's hard to capture on camera. But, the velvet paper adds a really lush texture. Order some this week and see for yourself. Our Valentine and winter velvet papers are on sale for at least 50% off!

DIY Wedding Book
We LOVE weddings! If you are planning a wedding or working on an elegant craft project, you'll love this mini album we made.
This could be used for a wedding album, sign-in book, or any other project you want to have a formal, sophisticated flair.
The supplies we used are velvet paper, a stencil, gray Tumble Dye, and our kraft starter album (on sale).
Just lay your stencil over the velvet paper and spray with Tumble Dye.
After it's all dry, you can use it for your project or as an album cover. The rich, plush velvet texture is perfect for fall or winter weddings.
We decided to use plain coconut velvet paper for the spine and replace the ribbon with something more sparkly. The with velvet paper and Tumble Dye offered in so many colors, the possibilities are endless!
